Great backpack for everyday use. I've used it for school, work and traveling. So many pockets for organization. It can fit quite a bit without being super bulky.

I love the space that it has while still looking stylish. The backpack is bigger but i'm 6'2 so it works out perfectly. I love the deep water bottle pockets as well as the front sleeve where i put my book and my hat. overall great backpack.

Bought it for my son for college. He likes it, it's durable, roomy and good for his needs. The only drawback is the straps. They are everywhere.

Bought for my high schooler who needed more space than the jester offered. This seems odd in its design. The extra space seems to be vertical making fitting more books not practical. It's a very nice looking backpack, but may be better suited for hiking.

I've had this bag for 6 years and still love it. Very room, comfortable, durable and stylish. Wish it was waterproof, but from another bike bag I use the rain cover for both. Just wish it had a lid lock for my helmet. The from meth isn't big enough.

Great backpack.. But the women's TNF BLACK HEATHER/ETHEREAL is shown as the color of the men's back pack.. The women's recon is a baby blue (periwinkle) color. The pic on line is wrong.

I got this bag last year for my freshman year of high school. The bag was good but it doesn't hold as much as I needed. For younger kids it would be good for school but when you need 2" binders it can barley fit two. I also have had some problems with the water bottle sleeve ripping within 2 months. I would recommend paying the $30 to go up to the surge. The North Face customer service isn't helpful so don't try to size up after a while. Just buy a bigger bag!

I've owned two of these packs. They're great for most used. However, they're a pain for traveling by plane. The hip and shoulder straps always get caught on the seat brackets. The.men if it's in the overhead the straps will hit someone in the face when you're taking the pack out. Look for other style packs if you're looking for a regular carry on.

I really like how well the back pack is made. It is so comfortable and can really be loaded down. The many pockets make for great organization.

I'm currently in high school and I recently purchased this backpack because lots of people at my school had north face backpacks. When I finally purchased one, I quickly fell in love with the great quality and the attractive design (and pastel purple design that contrasted with the black backpack).

Bought this backpack for my sister, who commutes daily 1 hr to her office. She loved that she could walk around with it and have all her stuff, there was a safety whistle, and the real color was to die for! My only complaint was the back was very stiff, but I'm sure that's part of the design for comfort.

I use it on a daily basis for school and for personal use. It is very durable and can hold many things, however I think I would like it more if there were more easy-to-reach pockets.

I purchased this backpack to replace my old school bag and I can already tell that it's a big upgrade. There are plenty of pockets and lots of room in the main compartment.

The backpack is well made and comfortable. I wish there were pockets inside of the main pouch for a bit more security for things like passports.

I wanted to love this backpack but there's a design flaw: the pockets squish so you don't get the available space to put stuff. I mainly use it to carry my laptop, files and office forms. It feels bulky. I'm short: 5 feet 2 so although it's comfortable I wish the pockets could hold more.

Not to many outside pockets makes in secure and sleek for the city. But still so much room. Great for overnight trips, day hikes and travel/commuting.

I am a big fan of North Face backpack. I bought a Jester during my family's vacation in Florida. My son took it for his college. So, I decided to get another one for me. I ordered a borales but my wife like the black and yellow when the backpack arrived. At the same, the design of boreal is not much different from the jester. So, I decided to get this one, recon. This time I bought the classic black. I am very satisfied the design. However, I found a little issue with the laptop compartment. The zippers doesn't go all the way. It stops halfway. That's my only issue.

Use this backpack mainly for my daily office commute and business travel, and it is well suited for that. Really like the separate laptop compartment. Planning to also use it for hiking during my holidays, should be fine for that too (although field testing will still need to be done).

I've been wanting to get a new backpack for a while now and I'm really glad I got this one. It's very good quality, I already know it's going to last me years. The color is super cute and simple. And there are so many pockets for a slim backpack.
