I am a student on a large college campus and this backpack is great for carrying around heavy books all day. I love the protected laptop sleeve and that it is waterproof (originally why I bought it). The straps adjust nicely and tightening the ones across the front help to not put so much pressure on your back.

The Recon Backpack is amazing. I'm extremely glad I picked this backpack over other backpack brands. The padding feel great and the design I picked (crown blue/budding green) look exactly same as the picture that had been shown. Plus what make the backpack extremely great is that no matter how much I put in, the backpack feel light which is easier on my back. Reading the bad reviews, I was unsure should I get this backpack or not. However the bad reviews was wrong in the end. I'm actually 100% satisfied and happy of the Recon backpack.

I bought the white/orange version of this book bag. I love the color! It is big enough that I can load all my books in it but padded enough that it is still comfortable to walk around campus with.

I used this my first week while traveling for work and it made carrying around my things so much easier. There are so many pockets that I could fit everything into one bag.

This backpack is fantastic, and very roomy with all its pockets and compartments. However the large compartment is pretty difficult to pack a lot of books into because the back padding is very stiff and doesn't have any give, which makes it difficult to pack it full. Hopefully it loosens up a bit and becomes more flexible.

Absolutely love this backpack, it can fit all my books and the suspension makes it so it doesn't hurt my back as much. 10/10 would recommend

The recon is a great backpack which works great for travel and it can double as a hydration pack for skiing.

I use this for work and it carries my tools and stuff great, but it's a little hard to fit a lunch bag in it.

I wish the padding wasn't so hard and was more flexible , hard to get stuff in and out of when theres a lot in there. Used it for a weekend trip and it held alot but wasn't that great to carry

I use this backpack for school and find that it has adequate room for all of the accessories that I need to carry with me, as well as adequate room for my books. I am able to fit 2 spiral notebooks, 1 small text book and one large textbook into the largest opening.

Great backpack, super comfortable and supportive. I ordered the hydro green/snow cone red color and the color was not the same as the picture. I was expecting the turquoise color with the mint green accent color. It was actually a blue with a lighter blue accent color. I kept the backpack, I just really wish the colors were the turquoise I was expecting. Other than misleading colors, the backpack is fantastic!

I am replacing my old North Face backpack which I have owed for over 10 years. I don't know which backpack it was but the best I can tell the two are relatively comparable in size and function. My previous backpack had the zippers' stitches rip and come off the backpack fabric. My first impression of my new backpack its quality is inferior. The thick fabric that was used in my original has been replaced with thinner lighter material. I beat up my old backpack and I never once had a tear in the fabric. I feel this one will rip along the way. Though it does seem the issue with the zippers does seem to have been addressed with the new backpack. Also, the plastic used in the chest and waist clasps are much weaker. Though I will concede it's way too early to tell for any of my concerns.

Excellent pack for school. Modest capacity, but big enough for a couple of classes worth of books. The pockets and lap top pocket are well thought out and very well constructed. If you are looking for a good school pack, this one is an excellent candidate. I would rate it at five stars if the main compartment was 6 or 7 liters bigger.

The bag is really comfortable and seems durable. However, the bag has a huge flaw. Once you put things in the main compartment, the organizing bags in the secondary compartments become useless because nothing will fit in them anymore. For something to fit in these small bags would require the main compartment to be almost empty.

I am a student who loves the outdoors. I went through three backpacks prior and so far this backpack is holding up like its brand new. You will love the organization, the variety of colors, and the durability. A must! Go for it!

I use this for books and school supplies. It is comfortable, and has plenty of small, hidden pockets. I would prefer a separate compartment for books than to have the laptop and everything in one, however, if you don't have a ton of stuff, it's not a huge deal.
