The boots felt snug at first, but "broke in" within a day or two. Comfortable and waterproof. My only complaint, the natural crease between the toe box and where the laces begin rubs across the top on my toes. I wouldn't want to be in the outback with that kind of blistering potential. Good work boots though.

These are incredible shoes. They are rugged, light weight, and very comfortable. I have severe foot problems. I was born with club feet, I had surgery at an early age so I have always had foot pain ranging from weak ankles to plantars fascitis and being 6'4", weighing 210 pounds does not help either, but these shoes are excellent for me and help stabilize my feet with comfort. It is amazing that they are waterproof and so good for the price. Many top quality shoes at REI are considerably more expensive, some of which I have tried but these are more comfortable than any of them. I would have given these a five rating, but because the wide size was not wider according to industry standards I felt compelled to give them a four. Having to go with a 15 wide (EE) size made me a little disappointed that it was not that much wider than the 15D. I measured the width at exactly the same point on the sole (using marking to be very precise) and found the W version to be only 1/16" wider. According to Ebay's size measurement chart which I found to be the most comprehensive and descriptive, the 15D should be 4.6" wide and the 15EE is 5" wide so the difference the two should be between 3/8" and 1/2" which I have experienced with other shoes. I'm not sure if this was just a problem with the pair I got sent, but based on the sole which has most likely to have the least manufacturing variance I believe this is across the board. Still give the wide a try if the regular seemed too narrow because that 1/16" might make a difference if you do not require exceptional shoe width. Good luck!

I just ordered a pair of these boots, or Another pair I should say. This will be my 7th pair of these I believe. I like them a lot, they are very light, very supportive, and comfortable for 8-12 hours days standing and walking around in a retail environment. The only two issues I've had, and I've had 6 pairs so I guess I have a good baseline. They wear very quickly in my opinion, I only get about 3.5 month before my legs and feet start hurting from the soles wearing. I'd like to only have to buy one or two pairs of boots a year, granted I do wear them all day long at least 5 days a week, although I don't do a great deal of walking, mostly standing. Second issue, the laces suck, and the two top tabs you pull the laces into, will shred the laces. In 6 or 7 pairs of boots (I've lost count), I've had a lace give out on all but one pair. I find these boots so comfortable that I really truly wish Timberland would make them out of better materials. I'd buy them forever.

I purchased this identical shoe a couple of years ago and it was the best Timberland I've owned. Bought the same shoe, same size, but found the fit was completely different. Comparing old to new shoe, the sole was about 3/8" narrower, and cut at a sharp angle at the pinky toe. Sent back and ordered Wide EE instead. Felt exactly the same, looks exactly the same. Now I'm stuck with my toe tingling and hoping it will 'break in'. Great shoe, but why did they change it?

I agree with the review that said these were poorly made. I don't work out doors, so my use of them was very light. They were comfortable and waterproof for almost a month and a half. After that was when the welt began to separate.

These boots are pretty lightweight. They have a moderate break in time. Once broken in, they are very comfortable. They're not bad before breaking in, they just get better. We recently had an ice storm and they did well walking in the slush and puddles after it started to melt off. My feet stayed nice and dry. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.

These are very comfortable boots, not too heavy, but sturdy and waterproof...at least for the first few years. My previous pair "un-waterproofed" after the third year, despite applying SnoSeal and waterproofing spray. However, I liked them so much for everything else I'm willing to try again. The two previous pairs lasted longer. I am a woman size 10.5 and had to buy the men's 9.5, as the women's 11 did not fit.

A very good boot it lasted me two years landscaping in the hardest working conditions possible before they fell apart on me. The only problem I had was a couple of the lace loops broke almost immediately but looks like they have changed the loop since. I also had to change the laces because the outside layer striped off.

Although sized a 'W', they are a little snug around the toes. These boots must be waterproof because they are the first pair I have had in which I experienced sweaty feet.

So, I've had these boots for a few months now and I really like them. They are comfortable, sturdy, and durable. My only complaint is that they don't breath, but you can't have everything. I wear them to work where I walk a few miles a day and I wear them at home doing yard work and construction. I'm definitely going to get another pair.

I purchased these for work where I have to walk and stand for my whole shift. I have owned many pairs of Timberland boots..Usually the Pro series boots. I wanted a lighter pair. They are much lighter than the Pro boots. As for size, they seem true to fit. These boots must be broken in. I did not find them comfortable right out of the box as others have. Being waterproof, they are also very hot. All in all though, after breaking them in and replacing the insole with a quality pair, I am pleased with the results and would recommend them to a friend.

They were stiff to start, but the feel is becoming quite comfortable. The laces, tongue or something in the construction squeaks with every step. I really hope this goes away when they are broken in more.

I was hoping for a quality pair of brown boots, ones that look good with jeans, that are comfortable, and keep my feet warm. Yep, yep, and yep. My only complaint is the squeak out of the left boot when walking. Otherwise, I found these a terrific boot, worth every penny and more.

I like Timberland products and have owned many over the years. This pair had exposed seams on the inside of the boot right at the top "regular" lace eyelet and just below the 2 boot lace "hooks" around the ankle. Those exposed seams rubbed against the tops and sides of my feet, quite irritating. I looked at the old pair I currently own and that seam was covered by a silk-like padding as part of the inside boot liner preventing that rubbing against the foot - even through a decent thickness athletic sock. The next style costs somewhat more, I will order the more expensive pair and hope the inside lining covers all seams. Still a Timberland fan.

Great fitting boot. I have wide feet and the wide fit is great. Took them hiking without breaking them in and not a single ache, blister, or anything! It was raining that day too and my feet stayed dry. Ankle support was great. Not the lightest boot, but for the price I couldn't ask for more.

I bought these boots to hike and work on my property. They are light weight and give great support. I was very satisfied with these boots until one of the lace clamps broke off. I had a shoe repair shop replace the broken lace clasp and figured that I must have snagged it on something and didn't know it. Then one day one of the lace eyelets pulled loose at the rivet. I was able to put it back in and used pliers to squeeze it together. My feet stay warm in cool weather and seem to stay fairly cool during warmer weather. I'll probably get another pair when these are worn out, but they seem to be standing up good except for the lower lace eyelet and upper lace clasp.

I purchased these as a casual-dress option for winter weather, and have not had the chance to wear them in cold, wet conditions. They are extremely light, and I'm hoping that they lowers are waterproof. As always, shopping at Zappos is great. An awesome selection of whatever it is you are shopping for, and their customer service is phenomenal. I've been a customer for close to 10 years and have never been disappointed.

Ordered these boots for a trip to Paris. Opened them for the first time there & started a long day of walking with out ever breaking them in. They worked great. Comfortable right out of the box. Kept my feet warm & dry, without being too hot. These may not show up on the fashion runways of Paris, but they look just fine for daily use.

Nice comfortable boots overall with firm grip. Felt a bit narrow for 8.5 wide. Shoes arrived earlier than promised. My buying experience with Zappos was excellent. Recommend it to anybody.

A nice boot overall. Good value. Needed some breaking in due to stiffness, but very comfortable with excellent padding. Maybe just a tiny bit snug, so keep in mind the kind of socks you plan on wearing. I could do without the plastic/rubber logo on side, though. So much for all the "eco friendly" babble.
