Comfortable, waterproof, but second time I put them on one of the top lace hooks pulled out of the boot. I can take them to get fixed but why should I have the inconvenience and pay $10 to the shoemaker?

I'm formerly a devotee of Timberland's Mt. Washington ankle boot. When my last pair of Mt. Washingtons gave out, and I couldn't find another pair for sale anywhere, I happened upon the White Ledge at a discount shoe store. Immediately after lacing them up for the first time I had that "perfect shoe" feeling. Since buying them 5 months ago they have taken all the beating I could possibly put them through. I'm a volunteer firefighter and recently I wore them to a wildland fire, hiking for several hours with 50 lbs. of gear on my back, over smoldering ground, and kicking at hot embers. The next day I put them back on to go to work and pick up my kids from school. I had surgery on my first toe joint last year and now I have very particular needs for footwear. The sole has to be pretty rigid and I need plenty of room in the toe box as well as a snug fit. I also drive a manual transmission car, and my shoe can't be too bulky or too rigid in the sole to work the clutch. These White Ledge boots are good for that, too. I'm buying another pair now because I break down the support in my footwear quickly with heavy wear, so I want to be sure to have a new pair in reserve when I eventually destroy the pair I have. They've held up remarkably well so far and I probably will get many more miles out of them. I only wish they came in black as well as brown.

This is the 3rd pair of these boots I've re-ordered in the last 3 years. They last me well into a year to year and a half. They're actually not worn out or anything, I just prefer to have fresh pairs every year or so. Can't recommend enough.

This is my 3rd pair over 12 years or so. I was concerned with all the negative comments about the changes in the shoe. I did note anything and really love it and glad I bought it.

I've had these boots for 2 years and they have held up pretty well. The only wear so far is on the soles. I think the soles of my previous Merrell's showed less wear, but that could all depend on the how and where I'd worn them. Very happy with the fit, the more you wear them the better they feel. Would buy them again. Worry free while sloshing through water.

I purchased these boots trusting lots of good reviews for them but I'm disappointed, especially after owning them for couple of months. I first purchased size 7 and exchanged to size 7.5. Size 7 was too tight but 7.5 is uncomfortably lose fitting. My feet do not feel comfortable in them at all. These boots do not look as good in person either. I do not recommend buying these boots at all. The only good thing about these boots is cheaper price than other waterproof boots but they don't even worth that price. These boots are just very cheaply made and constructed. Spend a little more and avoid these.

I've had a pair of these for at least 6 months now. They are my "go-to" boots. They're great for the casual style of just about anyone, but especially for those who like to hang out in a garage. They look better than the picture. They're perfect right out of the box. For perspective: I usually wear 10.5 in Adidas tennis shoes, 11 in all Merrell. I don't think I have a wide foot, but Nike and Puma are often too narrow. I almost always buy 11's in boots. 11's fit perfectly. Get these!

Perfect fit. Got me through this horrible NY winter. Snow/Rain was no issue for this boot. Truly is waterproof. Just a heads up, might want to splurge on better laces. These are a bit thick and tended to be very hard to keep tied. Minor issue for an otherwise great product.

These are my husband's favorite shoes. We literally have them saved as a favorite and order a new pair every year or so. This is his 4th or 5th pair.

These boots have done a great job for me. They have kept my feet warm and dry even with drifts a foot deep.

A little bit expensive, but worth it. No hassles with the company and everything was handled in a timely manner. I can't find shoes wide enough for me at most retailers, so I'll probably be back.

I bought these boots four years ago for hiking in Maine etc. I just bought some moderately expensive shoe cream and conditioned them for the fist time.They look new again but with that slightly worn look to them. Vey comfortable and reliable in the rain, snow, and Florida terrain as well. Great boots for comfort and reliability. Anyone who says these are poorly made is a idiot. They don't have any issues after normal use for over four years.

Read the reviews & believe them. My husband was resistant to me buying shoes online. He thought it was ludicrous to even attempt it, but Zappo's makes it so easy with no cost to us. That being said, the boots were an exact fit, just from believing the reviews. No break in time. He loves them & I love them because there is some sort of shield around the tongue. His other shoes would let the fine dirt in everyday which caused me to have to soak all his socks every time I did laundry to get the dirt out. This "shield" keeps the fine dirt out. An aside, I bought him two pair of boots at the same time that day from Zappos & the other pair was a different size (from trusting the reviews). He could not believe I found him 2 pair of shoes hat both fit, sight unseen! He is now a believer.

I felt like the shoes were too small - I'm a 12-to-13 depending on what sort of shoe, but these might as well have felt like an 11. They're lightweight and my wife commented on how good they looked, but I never really had the opportunity to road-test them.

I have owner these boots in size 12 W for 3 or more years, I drive off-road trails with my Jeep and abuse these boots in all weather conditions - they hold up great and keep my feet dry. I am ordering another pair, one size up, so I can wear innersoles and thicker socks for colder conditions.

Ordered a 13. I wear a this size in everything from work boots to dress shoes. These felt like they were 15's and narrow.

Bought these for my 16-year-old son. He raves about them. Says they are the most comfortable shoes he's had. Wears them hiking and working.

I ordered these boots for a dear friend who wears a size 14 wide shoe. I took the chance, hoping they would fit. It turns out that they were perfect the minute he put them on. Zappos carries more variety of size and style than any other place I have ever shopped. I appreciate as well the free shipping feature. I will be ordering again soon. Thanks for all!

Oh wow where to start. I have to give kudos to Zappos customer service I had to make a exchange and it went flawlessly and I received the exchange pair the very next day! Thank You Tabitha S. These boots are exactly what I was looking for. The fit was spot on I had to sent back a pair that said was my size but a whole size smaller it felt like. The Timberlands are great right out of the box. I will buy these again, AND from Zappos!

Very stylish and comfortable. Great looking with your favorite jeans. You will have these a long time! As always, Zappos is the Mac Daddy when it comes to online shopping. I don't see how they do it!

These boots = really bad blisters. Looked pretty good on the website and had good reviews, so I ordered. Opened the box and was some what disappointed because they looked cheaper and old person'ish. Put them on and they felt really comfortable. Went for a light walk and had small blister on top of my big toe. Then went for a light hike and had an even bigger blister. Walked in them a few for days and didn't have any blisters. Went for a big hike and got giant bleeding blisters on top of my big toes. Also noticed that welt was separating after last hike. About 14 total miles. FYI when I wear boots I always wear Thorlo or better socks. Will not be wearing them again. They're headed to Goodwill.

Narrow tongue, not bellowed, with low side shoe construction means that there will be a gap for debris and moisture to get in on either side of the tongue. Poor construction style!! Why even bother making this shoe waterproof, when the rain and mud will just run right in from the top?

I bought these for an Alaskan cruise and thereafter. They performed perfectly. My feet were comfortable, warm and dry the entire trip. I walked quit a bit with complete comfort. Thanks to Timberland and Zappos. I would definitely buy them again and I would buy them from Zappos. Happy happy. Joy joy.

So comfortable out of the box, didn't need to break in. Bought extra wide, and it fits perfectly. Stayed dry despite being muddy and wet on outside, right up to the hilt. Worth every penny. Maybe needs slightly better arch support.
