I've had these shoes for three or four weeks now, and I've got a few things to say about them at this point. First--they're not as goofy as they look in the picture. I was afraid they'd seem a little clown-like, but they're quite sophisticated. The top is flatter than shown, at least in larger sizes. Being leather, they start to look broken in and less rigid within a couple of days. However, it has taken over two weeks for the back of the heel to stop chaffing my Achilles bloody, and the toe space to open up some. You really need to persevere to make these work, but it's worth it in the long run. Now they feel great.

Earth Classic - I got this shoe because I thought that the negative heel lift might help stretch my Achilles tendon and, indeed, it might have. The comfort is average and they seem well-made. I don't know how difficult or expensive it will be to replace the soles. Not God's answer to the shoe issue, but fills a niche.

Awesome - This shoe looks good and feels good; Period. You can't get more classic than this 2-eye, brown shoe. The unique sole design of the shoe is awkward at first, but feels heavenly when you get used to it. The only real drawback is a minor one: the scuff easily.

Earth shoes seem to be OK, but just OK - I saw an ad showing a guy having improved posture. The shoes are comfortable but not the ultimate in comfort. They look fine; an easy casual soft look.

Goods - This is a very good shoe. Some of the reviews I read made it sound as though it would be uncomfortable, but it is not. It takes about 20 minutes of getting used to. The look is awsome, because not many people wear these. They are also the only shoes I wear to work. I stand for 8 hours, and they are the only shoes that I have found that don't leave my whole body (especially my feet) crying out in pain.

Earth Shoes Rock! What an enjoyable shoe to wear. Pure comfort. My only issue so far is that the large square toe is easily scuffed. I need to learn to pick up my feet!

Why the truncated selection? These are well-made shoes, they fit well, and they are as I expected. My only complaint is the available choices at the time I purchased them. I chose this color and style because they were available in my size. I find this phenomenon repeated throughout Zappos. My size will be available in tan but not in brown. Or every color will be available but not in my size. I wish there was some way to make known to the producer: "Hey! There's a pair of feet out here, willing to trade adequate cash for style x in color y in size z! Please produce and send within 30 days!"

A little nostalgia - This is the first pair of Earth shoes I've worn since the early '70's. When I learned that they were still available, I had to have a pair. The leather is a little stiffer than I remember, and it scuffs easily, but this is handled well with some cream conditioner. This shoe is very comfortable. Plus, with the negative heel technology, I'd swear I'm standing a little straighter than before. Let me say, too, that I am very impressed with the lever of customer service at Zappos. Although I ordered standard shipping, they automatically upgraded my order, and it was received two days later. I'll definitely shop here again.

Earth Shoe Classic - Excellent service by Zappos I was a little disappointed in the quality of the leather in the Earth shoe - not the same as 25 years ago - scuffs much too easily. But there is plenty of comfort in the shoe.

New Design for Earth Shoe - I am still breaking in the shoe. I would have liked the opportunity to select a "wide" shoe instead of the only option of "medium." I have a wide foot and the shoe is somewhat tight at this time. I hope it loosens up or I may not consider another pair of these shoes.

Shoes for those who appreciate the shoe-art - I recently purchased my first pair of Earth shoes. The negitive-heel technology truely make for a improved standing/walking comfort and style. I had my shoes for a week, and had to buy a pair for my brother and his wife, so that they could experience the shoe-euphoria. My sister-in-law, said that she would only take her new Earth shoes off for bed, for the first three days after she received them.

My take on earth shoe classic - These shoes seem to make me feel better in the lower back area. The reason that I bought them is that I now find myself standing on concrete the whole day, and it's been killing my lower back. I bought these shoes because I read the info and figured they would help. So far, they have. I like their appearance. The only thing that bothers me is what feels like a slight ridge running along the outside edge of the right shoe. I might get a pair of insoles to counter this, but I don't usually notice it until I have been on my feet for about 9 hours. I like these shoes, though, and am planning to buy another style of the same Earth line in the spring.

Search goes on - I wanted something like this for the negative heel to keep the Achilles tendons stretched during my all-day-standing teaching gig. That aspect of them worked fine, but there's a ridge or seam of some kind running lengthwise under the outside of my foot (worse on the right) that wants all my attention after a couple of hours. Experiments with insoles haven't helped. For me, not an all-day shoe.

Ochre looks very nice but scuffs very easily. There is hardly any arch support which caused too much arch pain to wear. I only recommend these if you have low arches and can overcome the unique heel design, as it takes time to get used to.

Too tight, arch way too high. Sized up, still too small. Immediate pain. Not for the flatter foot that needs some sort of shock absorption. Looking for a shoe that can redirect ball of foot pressure to the heel. Thought these might work. Wore these thirty years ago. Simply don't work anymore. Will be returned.

I love Earth Shoes. I attribute the negative heel design to totally eliminating my chronic back pain. However, be prepared to replace them frequently. I have had 4 pair (slip ons, chukkas, and ties) whose soles have split after approximately 6 months wear. It appears the material used is not a very high quality. They can be repaired for a while with superglue. I had 2 other pair w/o problems. If you are looking for pain relief, try them. BTW, I am less than average weight, so this is not a problem related to the amount of weight on the shoe.

Had to send it back, tore up the back of my heel.
