Love these boots! As other reviews have mentioned, the upper part of the boot is very stiff, so after wearing them long enough that I knew they were keepers, I took them off, and "broke" them in by bending them in the places where your ankle would naturally bend. This worked very well, and I have since had no problems with the stiffness. I wear a size 8 in other shoes, so I ordered these in a size 8 as well. They were a perfect fit without socks. So if you want to wear something other than a thin sock, or have wide feet, I recommend at least a half-size larger. Because they form-fit the foot so well, they move with you, and don't feel clunky, or like they are slipping in the heel. A great boot for even the coldest weather!

Initially, I got these boots a size larger than my street shoe size. They would have worked, but after wearing them in the house for several hours, I really felt they were a size too large. They are true to size, but you need a shoe horn to get them on initially. After that the length and fit is true, if a little snug. Personally, I like this as they have the same great insulating characteristics of my decade old Sorels, but are a lot less clunky! These are not "city girl" boots! They are solid and sturdy and great for those of us who live and work in the frozen north. Really, in -20 temps, you will love these boots, trust me!

Super cute in person. Upper portion a little stiff when walking, but very warm. Walked around in them shopping, and feet didn't hurt at all. Looking forward to wearing them to Broncos games because they're very warm.

I've always loved the quality of North Face and now I own a pair of their boots. The reviews say buy a half size up, so I did. They were on sale and 9.5 was the only size available. Somewhat stiff but not too bad. Perfect for plowing through snow banks and shoveling out cars. The BEST tread I've seen on any boot, no fear for walking on ice.

Great Boots - My granddaughter LOVES these boots; she wears them even when it isn't snowing! They look really good with her jeans, and they keep her feet dry and warm.

Grrrrreat! I love the look and the warmth; I haven't really worn them in the snow because we haven't had much snow yet. I live in mountains so I am sure they will do their job. I have worn them just around the house and outside just to get the feel of them and so far I love them! Thank you Zappos for being an outstanding company to deal with. I love these boots, warm and comfy. Snug, order one size big - I LOVE ZAPPOS!!!!!! I have never encountered better customer service anywhere, too bad there is not a Zappos appliances!

Happy with this boot - I love the look of the boot and it is definitely warm and waterproof. My only complaint, and it is not a major one, is the boot is a bit stiff. I am already used to this and it doesn't bother me anymore.

NF Greenland Zip - I wear a 9 and ordered a 9.5 due to the previous reviews. Probably should have gone with the 10 - they do run small, but it is the best boot I have ever worn - even does well on ice! Very warm and cute. Feet did not sweat either, just were very snug and toasty. North Face rocks!

So this is why people wear winter boots! These are very comfortable and warm, and they keep my feet dry in the snow. They're sorta heavy, but it's well worth it for warm, dry feet in the winter. Besides it's a nice added workout that way.

North Face zip boot - Great boot to bum around in during the cold weather with or without snow. Very comfy although size does run a little small. Enjoy!

So Warm! This boot is great for the winter, its so warm and sturdy. Its great for taking my dog out in the snow. Definitely a must have winter boot!

Great book - I love these boots! Just moved to the Tahoe area, they have been fantastic even with no snow yet. Great hiking boot, great traction, very comfortable; some people mention shin knocking, I have not experienced it. I waded through a stream, and they are definitely water proof. They're a little bulky, but I still love them.

At first I was a bit nervous...I read the reviews and was scared that they would be horrible. I really like them. I was looking for something practical but still semi cute. I think that these are perfect. They are a bit hard at first and feel heavy, but I would be worried if they weren't!! I think that if you want something that is practical and yet still cute...these are for you!!

Great Boot! I bought this boot before going to Lake Tahoe for a ski trip and I'm so glad I did. It fit true to size and it was so comfortable. I wore it almost everyday. The traction was great in the snow & ice. I'd highly recommend this boot and I think I'm going to purchase this same boot in a different color for our next ski trip!

GREAT BOOT - The boots are so easy to get in & out of. Very toasty as well. Look great with jeans tucked in or with boot cut over them.

Great Boots! I love the boots, they feel great, and they come a little bigger which is great since you need the room for thicker socks. I love how they look.

Great shoe, serves its purpose. If you're looking for a shoe that provides warmth, traction and comes in a jazzy red, look no further. Philadelphia got a dump of snow and it was rough navigating in my sneakers. I slid all over, and by the end my shoes were drenched. In these boots, I can maneuver any snow pile and power through patches of ice and sludge. My feet come out warm and dry. The reason for the 4 stars on the looks is that I'm petite and thought the shoes were extremely large in appearance. If I wear skinny jeans or pants I can tuck them in, but it looks funny with most of my work pants.

Warm and toasty - While a little bit clunky looking (I couldn't wear them all day at work for example) these boots help greatly in getting through bus duty on frigid mornings, which is why I bought them. They are incredibly warm, and impervious to slush, snow and ice. They are a bit heavy, but still managed to make it through an entire day of city walking.

Warm but heavy - These boots do keep my feet warm in the ultimate: winter in the interior of Alaska. But it is absolutely like wearing a pair of ski boots...new ones. My feet went numb the first few times I wore them because they pinch the foot in weird places. I will wear them to shovel and sled but never to drive or just walk around! Off to buy some Uggs!

Just in time - I order my shoes two days before the big snow storm that hit the Midwest. The shoes arrived just in time and are warm, comfortable and stylish. Every time I wear them, I get compliments about their appearance. I kept reading comments about how the boot was smaller than normal, so I order a larger size. I think the boot is just right and I had to reorder the boot in my regular size.
