This is the first time I've purchased western style boots. I have not been disappointed. These boots are very comfortable but also very rugged.

This is my first pair of ropers, had over a dozen pair of "cowboy boots"that I've worn over the last nearly 2 decades. Also my first pair of Ariat. I'm now planning my next purchase, I'm thinking the Ariat distressed ropers.

I work on guest ranch, so I bought this for everyday use. It is very comfortable and a great height for someone short like me (I'm 5'1). It broke in after one day of wearing it and is a touch loose, but still looks and feels good.

Not a half size larger than listed but slightly larger. I have a pair of Ariat waterproof workboots that are the same size listed but a little tight.

First I would like to say I have many pairs of boots Ariats and other name brands I wear boots everyday of my life to school, work, around the house, in the pasture and even grocery shopping and normally I purchase square toe boots but I decided to buy these round toe working boots in hopes they would be more effective for my everyday wear. I purchased the brown distressed Heritage Roper boots size 7.5C about two months ago, and just like any boot I have ever owned I had to do some breaking in; the boot was extremely uncomfortable at first to where they were unbearable to wear at times. I own another pair of Ariat's that have a square toe and more for causal wear not for work and I can honestly say I do not remember them hurting so bad to break in while wearing them. After about a week the boot started to feel more comfortable but the heel is somewhat loose this does not cause me discomfort but I know boots are made to fit snug. Overall I love the look of the boot, the material, the width and the comfort and I would purchase them again I wear them everyday and I have already put them through a lot so they seem to be withstanding well.

I was given these about four years ago, I have worn them three days a week at least three months throughout the summer every year, as well as sporadically throughout the rest of the year, in rain, manure, mud, extreme heat. Just this last year they've started to break down slightly on the inside, but only the lining, the rest is still top notch. The reason I give this boot four stars instead of five is just that I think they could be slightly more comfortable, the sole becomes a bit hard after walking in them for a few hours.

Zappos- you do such a great job I feel bad when I have to return something. However, The boots run narrow. I am a 11 1/2 D in any shoe or boot but with these I would have to try a EE and see how that feels? as for the boot itself, the style, color and quality was fine.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I've had two pairs of the same Heritage Roper boots in the past: breaking them in was easy and fast, they were (and one old pair still is) as comfortable as slippers, lasted for ages. This last pair is different: breaking-in took a long time and caused blisters and chafes and they still don't feel as comfortable and soft as the older pairs. Seems like as the song goes “they don’t make them as they used to anymore”. I wouldn’t buy them again.

The boots in the add are a lighter honey color than the ones I received in my order. The ones I got were a darker brown color.

Yesterday I've tried the boots at the store in my size (45 D), and while the length of the boots and the toe area were ok, the problem was the instep area which was too big (not snug enough). The inconsistency in instep area size is the reason for only 3 stars.

I love the looks, fit and feel of these boots. There was no break-in period, so to speak. I normally wear a 13W, which is what I ordered. The only problem I have is with the stitching and coarseness at the top of the boots. It chafed my shin area. I tried a fix then I saw chafing on the other leg. I will try to fix or get the problem fixed because I want to wear these regularly.

Look good and the fit is pretty good but the seams on the tops are not flattened and covered and if I don't put moleskin on my left ankle I'd have a big blister from the very hard seam rubbing against it. Hoping I can soften it with time and some saddle oil.

Very heavy, yet the sole does not look lasting and so very disappointed that they were made in Indonesia, I purchased Ariat because I thought they were made in America, clearly they have sold out like so many others

I've worn this same style of Ariat boot forna out 12 years. This is my 3rd pair. Same model number, same size, same color, etc. These new boots are visibally narrower than the previous pair and the toe is not as wide. The seams inside rub on my ankles, and now, after wearing them for 3 weeks, they are beginning to rub on my heels. They are just not the same.

Love the boots. My old pair are really old and going strong. But, these new boots are rubbing my ankle sides really bad, I mean deep rubs to the bone . Any ideas short of bandages on sides of ankles? Thanks Rick

I wanted to love these boots. I am female with a wide foot, and have been trying to find a good pair of boots for years, so I thought men's boots would fit the bill. Unfortunately, the heel is too wide (the rest was fine), and the stiff leather hit my ankle just right to be painful. Oh well, maybe next time. These boots did look terrific.

Hit ankles with very stiff leather; not going to take a chance that this may soften.

I've worn the Heritage Roper round toe and wide square toe for years. My last pair, ordered a few months ago, were a real disappointment. Lighter weight uppers and poor quality stitching that is already unraveling. This new pair is not durable enough for horse farm work.

These boots started great and then developed a ridge I inside the heel pocket that is getting worse. I have tried to contact customer service with no response.

Sadly, I've worn a few times with thick socks, extra footbeds and even an ankle brace, but they are just too big. I ordered 8 wide which should have been right, but felt like it was a 9 ! Should have sent back right away but now am stuck with an expensive boot that doesn't fit. I had a pair bought many years ago in brown (men's size that fit) but after so many years they allow my ankle to turn. Don't know why the black ones I got recently are so big!

Was recommended to buy these by a few other ladies in construction. Turns out when you only go out in the field once a week these are great, however I wasn't so fortunate. I work in commercial construction walking upwards of 4-6 miles a day and these only lasted about 6 months. Started wearing two pairs of socks just for comfort because the soles were so thin. Might have just been because they're round toe (heard it's a round toe thing), but they what I would call "busted" and it would look and feel like I was walking the outer sides of my feet. Weren't as bad to break in as I've heard for ariats, but recommend taking your old pair of boots with you to work for a day or too as they do run snug for a few days. Overall would buy ariats again because I don't feel these are a great work boot- more of a hybrid or office boot.
