Good casual shoe - This shoe is good for comfort and looks, but very definitely a casual shoe only. A prettified slipper if you will. The bumpy insole takes a little getting used to but isn't intrusive.

Great shoes, the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. The only complain I have is they pucker a little on the sides when worn. Of course this may because I have a very narrow foot, and do have a hard time finding shoes to fit properly.

Got a compliment on these nice wide shoes - My coworker, a young woman who is into styles, has twice commented on how nice these shoes are. At first when I tried them on, I thought they were too wide and not as stylish as they had seemed on at the Zappos website. But they are very comfortable, and I needed a pair of brown dressy shoes to wear with pants at work.

Pleased as punch - I love doing business with your company. I have only used or worn these shoes once. It has been snowing for 4 weeks, and I have been in boots or slippers. I can't wait to wear them on vacation to Las Vegas.

As comfy as they look - My review title says it all. I bought these for comfort and they definately are all they claim to be. I could walk kilometers in these shoes. I have had many compliments on how they look on me too.

San Mateo - This is the coolest looking clog! I love the unique design of suede/leather combo. And they are very soft. However I have to have arch suppport and it' just isn't in this shoe. Sadly I had to return this one.

I first bought a Softwalk about 8 years ago and yes, I am still wearing it. I don\'t know why they had to change styles. The pair I have has a strap on the heel with a buckle. I ordered from another company and had to send back twice with another style. The last time I requested my money back. I ordered these because I need another pair to wear to school where I work. I ordered the pewter, but they are more gold. They had a lip on the heel and after receiving them I looked back and saw it on the picture. The lip is very uncomfortable. I look every week hoping and hoping to find my old ones once more. I can not say enough nice things about the people at Zappo.

My shoe size is 11 narrow, but the SoftWalk San Mateo narrow were still too wide to be worn comfortably without my purchasing and using a pair of innersoles with them. I made the same complaint about the Clarks I recently purchased. So, maybe I\'m just hard to please.

I am returning as the shoe did not fit wide foot, high arch. It is a good looking shoe.

Bought this shoe two years ago and they were amazingly comfortable from the first day I put them on. Ordered another pair recently and found them to not be nearly as comfortable as my first pair. The primary difference is that the manufacturer lined the inside of the woven leather uppers with a material that does not allow the leather to easily conform to your foot shape. I'm hoping that with usage, the shoe will gradually become more comfortable.

I can't wear open-toed shoes for my work, so wanted at least something open in the back during the summer. I also need arch support. I tried a few other shoes and didn't like them, so went with these. I have a pair in blue with a different pattern on the leather. For some reason, the right shoe rubbed my small toe the first few times I wore the shoes, so I had to wear a band aid. The problem went away. The shoes are otherwise pretty comfortable. My bigger complaint with the new shoes was with the color of the leather rubbing off on the backs of my heels. It was maddening. My shoes are black so it looked like my feet were dirty. It was so embarrassing. I finally covered over the offending areas with clear nail polish and so far, so good. I shouldn't have to do that with a new pair of shoes, though. The shoes are maybe an overall 3.5, but not a 4.

I love, love, love Danskos. They are the best for arch support and keep my back happy.

Too stiff and narrow - I am searching for the perfect mule! This shoe looks the part; however, the leather is quite stiff and not generous enough in the width for my 9 1/2 WW foot. What a shame!

Pewter Metallic Woven - I bet I looked at this shoe for 6 months before ordering it. I already have one pair of the San Mateo, (love them) but not the woven leather style. This pair was the noisiest, squeakiest shoe I've ever had on my feet. It's annoying around the house, can't imagine trying to wear these at work. Sadly returning them.

Bad Durability - The SoftWalk San Mateo is very comfortable and stylish. I love the way this shoe looks and feels. I have big feet and this shoe fits great. As such, I wear them a lot. But after just a few months of wearing them, they are falling apart. The upper portion of the shoe is woven, and the leather weave has snapped. Threads on the back holding the in-sole to the sole of the shoe are coming out. The same happened with my pair of SoftWalk Venus shoes (same as San Mateo, but with a strap). Even though I love the shoe, I probably won't buy it again. I can't justify a shoe that only lasts five months.

If you have a high arch or instep, you should try this shoe! … but it's a total disaster if you have low arches. My narrow, but flat feet flop around and practically walk right out of these shoes. Those reviewers who couldn't wear the La Habre style might like these and vice versa.

Great look, but… I love the look and feel of this shoe, but it gapes at the instep and gives very little support.

I tried them on my 8 med/wide feet, and they looked at least a size larger/longer. The sides also don't quite support my feet as they don't reach up that high toward the back. Also, these shoes squeaked with every step. Back they went...

Would be comfortable but too small for me - I have wide feet (9EE) and a narrow heel, and have been looking for black clogs for some time. I have some old Easy Spirit clogs that always fit great, but have worn out. This was my first experience with SoftWalk. These shoes were nicely padded on the sole, but were too short and too narrow. I ended up buying the Bella clog from Softspots and the 9EE fit me much better.

Buy wider! This is a beautiful shoe and I was stupid not to really try it before discarding the box. SoftWalks always fit great but these are way too narrow for me. Too bad because I know I'll never wear them.

Comfy, but fell apart - Cute, comfortable shoes, but I was disappointed when the weave began to break after only a few months.

Tan Soft Walk San Mateo - Returned this shoe. Didn't come far enough up on my instep making the shoe flap and my feet look extra long. I wear Size 10 1/2. It was also the right width at the toes, but gaped by my instep. As a new shoe, it already looked old and dumpy. Maybe plain leather would look better? In general, I love Soft Walks and I love zappos!!!!

Overpriced - I bought these but returned them because I did not find them very comfortable and I think they are very overpriced for the quality. The leather was not good quality, but looked and felt cheap, and was rather stiff--the kind of leather you find in discount shoes. They were fairly true to size, though, but for this price, you can buy much much better shoes of a quality brand with quality leather. I didn't find them very comfortable, either, but I wouldn't have kept them for this price since I thought they were rather unattractive--I don't think you can tell from the picture very well what they really look like (cheap and shiny and stiff leather). Thank goodness for Zappos return policy, though, the service is great. I was so disappointed when I put this shoe on. It was really really comfortable, but both shoes squeaked so badly that you could not walk in them without making a horrible noise.

Very unhappy - I have at least 4 pair of SoftWalk shoes in my closet. Unfortunately this style does not meet the quality of other shoes. They are not a true 2E and the leather is very stiff. Since I wore one of the pairs outside I am stuck with them but I will be returning the other pair that I purchased. I hope that future shoes that I purchase will be more true to size and width.

Cheaply Finished. I bought these as a lower-heel alternative to Soft Walk's Murietta clogs. I was disappointed. These Chinese-made shoes (I bought the woven ones) are made of very thin, heavily glazed leather. Just trying them on in my home and walking around caused gray cracks to appear across the top of the shoe, where the leather glaze was breaking. The toe cap has a tiny point on its edge -- in the center -- to indicate to the people in the factory where to place it on the shoe. I'm returning these.
