Great basic for summer - The Oatmeal color is a great neutral, but the bright yellow sole seems odd. Of course, only the people watching me leave a room will notice, but still.... The material is nice canvas and the fit is great.

Beware the sizing chart, which I think is wrong; I got the men's 6.5 for my women's size 8 foot, but had to send them back for a men's 6, which fit just right (and are labeled men's 6/women's 8 in the shoe). Luckily Zappos makes returns so painless, and their shipping is lightning fast. These shoes go with everything; they have a lot of boyish charm but they look great with skirts, dresses, pants - pretty much everything. Very comfy - not a lot of support, but good cushioning, and nice breathable canvas. Great colors - the green and blue are really versatile.

Like a kid again - These shoes look and feel just as I remembered them as a kid, even better, the interior is more refined and the tongue is padded. I love the shoes.

A touch of class - Same fit as Chuck Taylors, with a little more cushion & style.

Superb Service! I ordered these Jack Purcell’s a 1/2 size up as instructed on this page. They felt a full size bigger than normal which would hold true for Converse, as they tend to run at least a 1/2 size larger than normal. I called in the early evening to request another pair sent in my correct size. To my pleasant surprise, they were sent without my credit card being charged, as a courtesy and still arrived the next day! Wow! The shoes are great. I absolutely love them. They are very comfortable. They still feel about a 1/2 size too long but I've decided to keep them since they feel just right by the width.

Cool with my linen trousers - First Zappos. Absolutely amazing company. The shoes. This classic Jack Purcell sneak in linen looks just right with my off white and linen trousers. A god transitional shoe when sandals are too summery...or maybe your feet aren't tan yet. I find them very comfortable and true to size. I will order a white pair when summer begins. They are elegant and not too funky.

Converse Jack Purcell - I think they are great! They are comfortable with or without socks. They run a little big. I usually take a 7 1/2 but in this I have a 7. You will not be disappointed.

Yay! I love my Jack Purcell’s! I have two pairs: black and oatmeal. The blacks ones literally go with everything! They’re long lasting, comfortable, and cute! They run a bit long though.

Good comfortable shoe but look closely at "navy" color - Was worried that it would have that flat feeling of the All Stars which I could not wear that long. Not a problem. Nice comfort. Was initially disappointed in the "navy" blue color. (It should be called "jean" blue as its lighter than the original shoe.) But have gotten used to it.

Amazing!!! I just love my Jack Purcells!!!! The compliments I get when I wear them is the best!! Have you ever noticed how may movie stars wear them? Next time you are at the movies take note. They are comfy and truly retro!!! I wish that they were easier to buy in Canada and that I had known Jack Purcell a little better - after all he was my Grandfather!!!!

Fun Shoe - I had been searching for a fun, cute shoe in a size 12 - and thanks to Zappos there is at least many to choose from. I saw this Converse, and though I wouldn't say this is my standard style, I ordered it anyhow. I just love these! I have them in Pink and with two little boys and a third on the way, they are girly and according to my boys they're "cool" at the same time.

Jack Purcell a big hit!! I am a Physical Education teacher and I am on my feet all day. Usually when I purchase a new pair of gym shoes, I wear them for a half day to break them in. The first time I put on my new Jack Purcells, I wore them all day and then went home and mowed the lawn in them. They are a very comfortable shoe!! Highly recommended!! Purchasing a half size larger was a good idea.

5 star rating - My daughter had to have the Jack Purcells. I went online to see if I could find them. Zappos came up in the search results. I was SO happy to find them. They are the best!

Cooler than Chucks! The new version has the same awesome look, but is a little spiffed up (the metal tipped laces are a nice touch). I like these better than All-Stars 'cause the Jack Purcell's have a bit more arch, which makes one be able to walk in them a little longer without getting tired feet.

Great retro shoes - Thanks to Zappos, I couldn't find these anywhere. This company is one of the most accomadating on the web. You guys are the best! As for the comfort on these shoes I find them a little uncomfortable after a full day, there is not much arch support in them as my other sneakers. I also know that this is how the shoes were back when I had them when I was 15.

Fantastic Shoes - I love these shoes. They are super comfortable and I am always having trouble finding shoes that fit and are comfortable. I have even spent much more on shoes for people who pronate. Anyway these are the greatest and I hardly see anyone wearing them which I find very odd. I plan to get more in other colors and currently have navy blue ones fantastic!!!!

Jack Purcell Rides Again! I have been a fan of the Jack Purcell Converse sneaker for over 30 years! I would have voted against any changes being made to the original. However,this latest upgrade has won me over. This shoe is even better than the original. The padding inside the shoe makes for greater comfort and the other changes improve the looks as well as the quality. I followed another reviewer's suggestion to order a 1/2 size larger than usual. I found that it was longer than I liked. I ordered another in my regular size when the color I preferred became available. I feel that fit is better for me. Thanks for asking.

Converse retro tennie's - The experience of shoppping at Zappos was only enhanced by the cool shoes, fit was true to size and I have a slightly wider width than a B so it still worked, they are cool, stylish and comfortable!
