My wife likes but does not love these boots. They are hard to get on and off. She also wishes she would have sized down a 1/2 to full size because they stretch quite a bit.

First things first - I needed the have these boots. I have...unusual hobbies which means that I need these boots to protect my legs from brambles and such. The boots look very nice. They seem to run a little small (and I got the largest size they make) but the leather will stretch. They are fairly comfortable and they provide enough lacing to fit over rather large calves for those of us with that concern. However, about a third of the eye holes were not lined up and another third of the eye holes for the laces were not punched so I had to dig out my leather punch to make the rest of the eye holes. The dye on the black boots bleeds. A lot. So don't plan on wearing white socks under them, especially if your feet sweat even the tiniest amount.

Okay so I loved the loom of these boots online- I ordered them. The first shipment came scuffed which is no fault of zappos- I think it had to do with the manufacturers who make them. The second ones I got were much better but I l had to set out quite a bit of time to get the shoelaces through the holes- which were oddly constructed. Once I pulled my boots on I realized just how flimsy these boots are; they feel exceedingly lightweight to the point where you question their potential longevity and it was clear they would stain quite easily. I would've still kept them but I realized tiI am way too low maintanance for these shoes. I like to get out of bed, take a quick shower and just go. That is impossible with these shoes because of the strings- be prepared to set aside seven to ten minutes just unloosing the strings to get your feet in, then an additonal excess of time tightening the laces. Also, when you walk, the back of the shoe or something I couldn't quite but my finger on made them feel unstable to me..so given these factors I had to return them. On the upside, zappos is absoulutely amazing! They have the best customer service I've experienced and I will be a permanent member!

I was so excited to get these boots, but that was before I put them on... I put them on and immediately as I started walking, the heel on both boots were not going to work. Given how that is where the stitching comes together, it creates a bump that can be felt inside the boot. I immediately returned them because they were not going to work. They are super cute, were true to size, but the way they were constructed was not going to work for me. The style is great, but comfort and overall were not that great.

I wanted to love these more. The back of the heel is too narrow and scrapes your heel as you step. The boots came unlaced and the holes for the laces weren't lined up, making it difficult to lace quickly. They will be sent back.

Although these boots are cute, they are cumbersome to put on and you can forget about getting out of the house on time if you are running late and trying to put them on with a pair of socks already on. They are cute and sheik, but not "wearer-friendly."

I loved the appearance of these boots and thought they would be awesome. They are awesome, until you try to put them on or take them off. Then they are an absolute nightmare. There is no zipper just the front laces and the lace does not even have a coating on the tip to make insertion into the eye hole easy. So in theory, they would be fun and funky but in reality, they are awful. I really wish that I could return mine.

I have been wearing Minnetonka moccasins for 20 years, and this was my 5th pair. My husband and two kids also wear Minnetonkas, and this has been my favorite shoe company for decades. Unfortunately though, these boots are so saturated with black dye that upon putting them on, I was covered in black. It was all over my hands, feet and legs and they stink of chemicals. I am not okay with wearing something that is constantly coating you in chemicals... this is not natural stuff, people. On their website they have info on how to remove their dyes from your skin (rubbing alcohol or exfoliation!) and suggests you don't wear dyed boots with light colored clothing. They knowingly sell a product that is toxic. These boots are also enormous in the calves and they look ridiculous on. I would literally have to cut a 2" flap off the calf to not look like a fool in them. They never used to have these bowling ball round calves on them. I contacted the company with my concerns and they won't respond to me. Terrible customer service. Sending them back. NEVER buying from this company again.

I guess I'm in the minority because I hated these boots. The problem wasn't how they looked at all, and I never got to try them on to see if they were comfortable or not. My problem was that they arrive unlaced, and with the laces have no reinforcement on the end of them, they kept fraying with every hole I had to push them through and I simply could NOT get them laced up. it was the most frustrating 25 minutes of my life trying to lace these shoes! To make matters worse, the holes the laces had to go through did not line up and it was incredibly difficult to even poke the floppy laces through them. I've never had a pair of shoes frustrate me so bad I wanted to throw them out the window, but I came close with these. Then, the final indignity was when I finally got them laced up, they were too tight to get my feet into - they came halfway unlaced when I tried to put them on, and I was going to have to start all over! Ugh! I couldn't take dealing with the laces so back in the box and back to the store they went. I got the fringed boot that has no laces and they were so much easier to deal with. I will never, ever try a lace-up shoe from Minnetonka again!
