This is a great boot...but I've got a bunion that caused a hot spot. No fault of the boot. They're spendy yet uber high quality. Think I'll try a different model that might have a little more give in the area of the bunion.

I first learned of Asolos from one of the few women high mountain guides of Chamonix who led us on the classic Tour du Mount Blanc hike many years ago.I assumed she knew her boots. My daughter immediately bought a pair and left her old boots on the side of the road. This is my second pair; it took probably 10 years and at least 2000 miles to wear out the first. They are sturdy, long lasting, and comfortable from the moment you put them on. I do a lot of back country day hiking in the Southern Appalachians, over rocky and steep trails. These have proven to be good all-season boots. It is a good fit for women with a nice roomy toe box and comfort all around.

Bought these for a hike on Anapurna Circuit. They are just enough support without being to stiff. I have a narrow foot with fairly high arch. They fit great! Very well made.

These boots are fantastic. They are comfortable, they hug your feet and ankles in a great way, they keep your feet warm and in cold and wet weather and last but not least, they are great for hiking. I just bought a replacement pair after wearing my original ones A LOT. They are well built and last for a long time. I highly recommend them.

I bought a pair of Asolo Stynger GTX boots under 5 years ago with the intention of them lasting me 10-15 years (at full price that is what most stores will tell you with a quality hiking boot). No sooner had they broken in (about a year after I bought them--after the warranty for Asolo at the time) than the sole started peeling from the boot. It was really small at first so I didn't think much of it, but apparently it was large enough for the material inside the boot to start degrading. The soles fell off on both boots about 6 months ago. This would have been fine, had Asolo taken responsibility for their product. But they don't. They offered me a one time resoling for my shoe but the cobbler said it was beyond repair. The best they could do after that was offer me a 20% discount on a new pair of boots (after I had spent money to send my boots to the cobbler). Terrible quality and even worse customer care and response. I will never buy Asolos again.

These boots were perfect for our two week alp back-packing trip. We had rain, snow, ice, boulders, shale, mud, and road.. steep inclines and decline and I had NO PROBLEMS whatsoever! This really beats my previous trip when wearing a pair of cheap boots that forced me to cover my feet in foam moleskin only to reduce (not eliminate) the pain. These are well worth the money and I plan to have them for years to come as they are built so well and I do not imagine they will wear out for a long time. Took me about 20 miles pre-trip to break them in! Adding a nice insole made them perfect. I also want to ad that they only felt perfect after breaking them in, adding the right insole, wearing sock liners and thin but cushioned wool socks, so make sure you find the right combination and you'll have no problems! Never overheated my feet on trails but I was able to trudge through streams and rivers in these babies and came out dry!

I bought these Styngers GTX about a month ago (my 3rd pair of Asolo's) and have hiked 3 times so far... so far. I LOVE them, much stiffer than my lightweight hikers, and still super comfy. Good ankle support. Good grip on rocks. I haven't even had to put my Superfeet Insole in yet, because they are great the way they are. I wear a 9.5 to 10. I got the 10... they fit perfect with a medium and or heavy wool sock. And the color is so sexy...

'm in love with this hiking boot. I bought it two years ago before I went on a three-week backpacking trip to Europe. It is sturdy, has great traction and I can walk forever in them. I've since used them on all kinds of adventures and whenever I pull them out of the closet I feel glad that I spend the extra money to get these babies. I have a narrow-ish foot, bunions, and a high arch. I got great arch support from these boots and the toe box area is wide enough that I had no problems with my bunions. The boots are also super stylish for a hiking boot. Yes, they are heavy but that's what you want in a hiking boot. I should mention, too, that I am SUPER fussy about shoes since comfort is important to me. My only quibbles is that the lace would come undone but I solved that by just double tieing them. (The lace undone issue happens a lot to me, so perhaps I don't know how to properly secure ties. I'll look into that.)

I've never had a pair of rugged hiking boots that were ready to rumble right out of the box. These guys hit the trail with me (and a 30lbs pack) brand new. Four days and no hot spots, no blisters, and blissfully dry feet. I didn't even have to change my socks.

I loved the look. I Have loved Asolos 10 years. I am disappointed. These are too narrow in the foot, after sizing up. I returned them.

I just ordered a new pair of Asolo Styngers in the spice color. My current pair of Styngers are 9 years old this summer and have only just begun to leak around the toe. I loved them the minute I put them on and discovered how supportive they were. These boots are great for hiking (especially if you're an ankle turner like I am) and can also double as winter boots that can withstand slush. I'm so glad Asolo (and Zappos) continues on with this model and I will continue to buy these boots as long as they exist.

I've had these boots for about 5 years. Wore them up Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya, and through the Helambu teahouse circuit in Nepal. More mundanely, wear them on flights to save space in my luggage, and have hiked my favorite trails in Shenandoah with them. I am still of two minds about them. First, they're heavy, and blockish. They are good for my flat, wide feet, and fit out of the box, but they significantly decrease my agility, and the sole material is so slippery I started relying on trekking poles for downhill stretches. Not even when it's wet - these soles will slide off smooth rocks! Secondly, the right boot is falling apart, with the "nose guard" falling off - guess the glue has broken down - and the sole breaking away from the upper. It's very VERY hard to find a solid women's shoe that's in a fun color (not pink or blue or purple yawn) and fits small heels. But I'm not going to buy Asolos again, because it would be nice to bomb down a trail confident I won't fall over teakettle, rather than picking my way like a dainty unicorn.

I have not worn these hiking yet. But I am very impressed so far. They look really nice. They are really comfortable walking around in them. The ankle support feels really sturdy. I am very happy with this purchase. I always order half size larger with hiking shoes.

This boot provides great support for your feet and ankles. I put in insoles with a metatarsal support in provide the comfort I need. The boot accommodated the insole perfectly. I would recommend this boot. Plus I loved the color!

This boot is very comfortable and stylish. I had to climb uphill through mud and my feet felt warm and secure with no slipping and sliding. Only two things I would have like better. The shoe is a tad heavy. I know it is for hiking but still I could have used a little less weight. No matter how tight I lace up, the top of the boot don't get tight enough. Rocks keep getting into the top. Even with these minor annoyances I would still recommend these boots.

I bought a pair of these for my girlfriend. she has worn them about 5 times and put less than 25 miles on them hiking. During that time the thickened black toe section of the sole completely separated on both shoes about 2-3 inches. Although Asolo customer support is responsive, being just over warranty I have no recourse even though they look brand new still. This is the 3rd pair of Asolo I have bought with the other 2 pair being man's with absolutely no problem and lots of mileage on them. Just beware that you may be buying boots you may not be able to use very long.

These felt rather clunky and space bootish. I heard they were good for wide feet like mine, but I went with the Ahnu.

I have worn these hikers very very hard over the last 5 years in a large variety of terrain. They finally bit the dust after hiking in a lot of water for after a couple days. The sole came loose at the toe on both boots. I have never found them to be very waterproof and also had a tough time breaking them in, found them very stiff and blistered pretty consistently until they softened up. All things considered, I love these boots (in spice) and I plan on buying the exact same boot again and hope to find them improved a bit!

Beautiful product but B width too narrow in ball-of-foot area (base of toes) for hard-to-fit wide feet like mine. Toe box felt good (not cramped), heel secure (I have average heels). I had to return them.

I start this by stating that I have only really worn these boots for hiking for a few day hikes so far, but I tried to put them through the paces because they will be on my feet every day for 2+ weeks during a trek in Nepal so I want to know what I am in for. So far so good. Virtually no break-in period for these boots, good comfort right out of the box (I did put in green superfeet - better arch support). My hiking has been on very well-groomed trails, wet stone, and single-track type trails in the Alps in the summer as well as some basic walking on paved roads. Traction was never an issue. I made a point of standing up to the third eyelet in a freezing glacial-melt stream for about 3 minutes and my feet stayed totally warm and dry. Also although I was wearing thick Smartwool hiking socks my feet were never overheated and they did not get sweaty. While they seem a little heavy in the hand, they are quite light on my feet. No idea about durability or real warmth yet but I hope they are good!
