I asked a bit much of them I think - They fit great in the store. Then they fit slightly less great while heading up hill. They've been up a number of mountains, have frozen, thawed, slugged through scree and talus, and climbed rock. Traction has been adequate for me, but the durability has been less than awesome. Deep scree and talus have pretty well destroyed the seams on the side causing the sides of the boot to start peeling away. They also seem to be lacking in the padding department and my right boot, no matter what, likes to try and eat my heel if I'm not careful. Guy at the store pointed me towards a wide since he said they run a bit narrow. Given that I'm using a wide and it feels pretty normal to me, I'd say he was probably right.

Not a boot for wet rock - I am sort of surprised that this boot gets such high marks. The sole is absolutely horrible on wet granite or limestone. Really, no one has had this experience? I've worn many boots and trail runners over 35 years of climbing and backpacking and the GTX soles are some of the worst.

These boots are great. Bought my special ops unit a pair to conduct tactical missions. Great durability for Afghanistan and any other rugged terrain. Asolo has already been a trusted brand in our trade.

This is the third time I've used Zappos. Like the other two times everything went smoothly. Early delivery and product was exactly what I ordered. I will continue to use Zappos.

Great Boot but there are things you should know - These are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. I would recommend them to anyone, especially if you have a trip coming up without much break in time. Ups: Comfort, Looks Downs: Sole wear, Waterproofing (After a few years)

FSN95GTX Alaska Adventure - Good boot right out of the box. No real break in required. Sole is rather soft but grips well. Toe guard keeps edge of boot from getting scuffed. Eyelets could use some improvements as they can pinch on the top of the foot. Sole could use a plastic shank to help keep things solid after the boot breaks in. Repels water well, and even better when treated with Asolo boot spray. Laces are good quality. Good quality shoe but should be a bit cheaper around 140ish. Would by again for light hiking with a pack less then 40 lbs.

Maybe these just aren't the boots for me. I've had mine for two years. My feet always hurt and I always, ALWAYS have heel blisters. I've messed with different socks. Different ways of tying them. They have never felt good. I wore them everyday for a month trying to break them in. No dice. 50 trail miles later they feel like the day I bought them. Your mileage may vary...

I started hiking seriously and needed good boots that would last. I bought these in a 10½ after reading many great reviews. I love them! They are sturdy and I love the toe protection but the support (rigidity) of the sole takes some getting used to. They are waterproof and have a nice high shaft so I can splash through streams/mud/snow without fear. They do not breathe well, so I sometimes change my sweaty socks halfway through a long hike to stay dry and warm. The toe box is a bit round for super square feet, but they still fit great and I am comfortable for miles and miles. They lace up quickly and adjust easily. The heel brakes well when going downhill. They fit nicely into my snowshoes. The ankles were a bit stiff at first so the heels rubbed and caused blisters until they softened up (a few hikes later). I bought them a year ago and they are holding up excellently.

I have wide feet/low ankles and have suffered entire life trying to find a boot that fits. Years back I tried every boot that Zappos had in my size. The one and only boot that fit were these Asolo boots. I had not heard of Asolo and thought I would give them a shot. I have hiked aggressive trails in the boots, climbed trees with spikes with these boots and used them as general everyday work boots. They have performed exceptionally and have lasted for years. A pleasant plus is the color. If when full of dirt, dust and grime, these boots always look good! I could not be more pleased.

These replaced my 11 year old pair of the same boot. If they last 11 years as well, I will be just as happy as I was with the first pair. They fit my somewhat narrow foot well and are quite rugged.

These are great all round boots that can be worn everyday. They are comfortable, stylish and Asolo is a great maker of boots. My husband has wider feet and the wide width fits him perfectly.

Overall excellent. Great ankle support, warm, and comfortable. And the best arch support I've ever had in a shoe or boot. Added a pair of Spenco cushion insoles for even more comfort.

I've only worn them a few times, still breaking them in, but on my longest hike so far (6 miles on some very steep terrain) they performed great. Love the material on the outside edge, which looks odd but on talus slopes you understand that this boot is not going to wear out in rough country,
