They fit and are comfortable! My husband is VERY picky about the fit of his shoes and is hard to buy for. The Asolo's were worth every penny. He loves them and I'm happy that I am done shopping for a while!

Getting better - These are my first pair of real hard core hiking boots. I mostly bought these because they were an editor choice award in a backpacking magazine, so I figured they knew more than I did. The boots are very light weight and well made. I first had a problem with my right toe being pinched. But have readjusted laces (skipped 1st eyelets) and now feel much, much better. As far as fit I wear a 14 wide in New Balance running shoes and these fit just fine 14 w. good room in toes. (Now that pinching is solved.) For me I was hoping that I would put these on and feel like and old base ball glove, they don’t. They feel like boots. Light weight boots but still boots. The insole is very thin. I still getting them broke in. Hope this helps.

Zappos is the best! I bought these shoes and within 3 days I had them! Wow, Zappos rocks! Now for the shoes: They are the best shoes I have seen, tried GIJoes and REI, all those places for nice shoes, but this beats even the flashy brands like NorthFace. Workmanship looks great. The sole feels great as well. This seems like a very sturdy shoe. I will report back here in about 100 miles.

Pt Reyes guy - Just got these and they fit GREAT; seem like I could go on the yearly Pt. Reyes trek tomorrow and not worry about blisters! I will break them in first though! Look for me wearing them on the trail soon. My old pair of Asolos wore out in ten years! A LOT of miles on them and I still use them for camping without packs! I hope in the future they will make a shoe like this with solid color

Rugged hiker with outstanding comfort. I have recently rediscovered the comfort of the '70s and 'Earth Shoes' (anyone else remember those?) with Sketchers 'Critics' and Ecco 'Walkathons' My feet are demanding a shoe with a 'natural foot' shape more and more, with room for an orthotic. This Asolo works for me with a huge toebox and looks Birkenstock will never have. Since I need an orthotic, I am not a good critic of this shoe's arch support.
I'd also recommend:
I like Sketchers Critics and Ecco Walkathons, both discontinued, and Birkenstock for comfort (not looks)

Nice selection.. This boot is the best hiking boot I have ever owned. I dont hike by the way, I bought these for a cold winter in NYC. 2 winters later, they are still very comfortable. They have SO much support and are lightweight. Not one stitch has come loose yet. Pay extra and get the better boot. Asolo

Asolo FSN 96 GTX - I have wide feet and also, Morton's Neuroma caused by too tight shoes. These shoes feel great and fit perfect. I would wear theme everywhere if I could.

Solid boot - but don't believe all the hype. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. The boot appears to be a quality one. A word of warning, though. A number of reviewers state, "No break-in time needed". The boot might be comfortable right out of the box, but it is not ready to go on a long hike. I tried to break mine in by wearing them around the house for a couple weeks and then wore them on a three day camping trip (no hikes). I then went on a four-day, 40+ mile hike north of Monadnock in NH, ending with the Monadnock climb. My feet did fare better than some on the hike, but I did have blisters by the end of the third day. By the end of the fourth day, I was in serious pain. The boot needs to be broken in just like any other. The boots did keep my feet dry, but they weren't as ventilated as I would have liked (typical with waterproof boots). Also, you might want to replace the insoles - they're pretty flimsy. Finally, the boot runs just a tad narrow, so if you do have wide feet, definitely go for the wider version.

Over-Pronate Fallen Archs GREAT BOOT - I am a lady with a wide, straight foot and fallen arches that cause me to over-pronate. In job and non-work life I am constantly walking on rough, uneven ground. This boot is sturdy, yet flexible. And the design (tips the foot outward a bit) reduces my over-pronation.

The Best hiking boots ever! I love these boots! They feel more like tennis shoes than hiking boots. They fit like a glove right out the box. I got free shipping from Zappos & they arrived two days after placing my order!!! Zappos rules Thanx...

Asolo FSN 95 GTX a great boot - Really like these boot. I like them so much I constantly wore them all of the time (hiking, working). Needless to say, I should have only used them when I was out hiking.... They held up very good. I do need them resoled... I considering to have them resoled because they are a very good boot.

Asolo FSN 95 GTX - I broke in these particular boots, by wearing them to work one to two days for a couple of weeks, then gave them the full desert treatment: rocks, cactus, steep inclines, and descends, etc., and the boot performed excellent.

Why were any other boot? I'm was a first time Zappos customer but not any longer. I would do it again today!! I ordered my Asolo Fusion 95 GTX's on Wednesday at about 2pm, I was given the best customer service I have ever had. I had been shopping at bootbay.com and actually was able to find a better price but on a recommendation from a friend at work I found Zappos. What a friend...Zappos's Price Protection worked and the salesman upgraded my order to 2day shipping my boots were on the porch when I got home on Thursday. Wow!! The boot...Second pair of Fusion 95's I have owned. I wore the other pair for three years everyday all day...hike/work why buy any other. THANKS ZAPPOS!!

Wow! I just love these boots! The thing that first impressed me was their extremely light weight I think they feel almost as lite as an athletic shoe. The comfort and fit is top notch while providing excellent support and traction. The only slight downside is they can be a little warm for here in the Chihuahuan desert of west Texas but they never get that uncomfortably hot. These are the best boots I have ever owned.

Impressed - Truely the best pair of boots I've ever owned. Had them for 3 years now and there's still no sign of tear and wear--well to be honest the small yellow Asolo logo on the sole fell off but that only after 2 years of service :-). I just love them... carried me faithfully through 3 scout camps and lots of hikes and I wouldn't change them for the world...

Best Ever - I'm 55 years old and have been hiking and Backpacking since I was 14.All the way through Boy Scouts. This is the best boot I have ever owned. Rock solid sole, comfortable fit and very good in the rain and mud. I hike a lot in England in spring and fall and had some reservations about anything other than full leather. Not to worry.

AJ from Denver - Awesome boot. Great fit right out of the box. Has wide toe box for we people who have wider feet. First trip to the candian rockies produced 1 blister in 6 days and approx 40 miles. Highly recommended boot.

Nice boot - The boot fits! I'm wearing a 14 wide, and my foot isn't cramped, and my toes don't bump on the way down. The sole isn't Vibram, and probably won't wear as well, and doesn't get as much traction. However, this boot is really comfortable. It is tough enough for rocky trails while laden with a pack, and feels like wearing a sneaker. When I lost my balance and stumbled into a creek, they stayed dry. One oddity, there is no removable insole. The Gore-Tex bootie is it!
I'd also recommend:
Lowa Banff, or treker, they have leather lining instead of gore-tex.

Traction - This is a good boot, with durability and looks. The traction, when it is wet is not good, I probably would not buy these again, because of the traction factor although it has been a good boot.

3 years of comfort - Bought this boot 3 years ago for backpacking and they did a great job. My weight is 235lbs. and I need good support, which the FSN's give. After two years the soles wore down on heavy use. Now I use them when I mow my half acre lawn. My only complaint is that when going downhill the traction was poor on this boot.

Asolo FSN 95 GTX on overnight hike - Based on 20 miles over the Appalachian Trail in So. Pennsylvania, these boots seem comfortable and relatively easy to break in. It is difficult to avoid some friction at the back of the heel if your feet are relatively narrow there, however, as the boot cinches tightly across the top of the foot without tightening its grip around the ankle much at all. I'll have to see if further break-in solves this problem. I like the tread, the roomy toebox, and the overall comfort of the shoe very much, and the weight is reasonable, too.

Don't even think about this boot if you have wide feet or a high instep. Typical European shoe design - way too small. Also has absolutely no padding in the sole whatsoever. If you have small feet, you might be okay with this.
