Great Boot With Fatal Flaw - I love these boots, with one caveat. The fit and comfort are awesome, requiring no break-in at all. They look great and have good traction. The downside is the waterproofness, or lack thereof. My first pair leaked like a sieve, and I had to bring them back to the dealer for a replacement pair. My last trip was through some wet snow, lower than the top of the boot, and I arrived in camp with cold wet feet! Inexcusable. I looked closely at the stitching and saw two places on the long horizontal seam running from the toe to the heel that had separated, allowing water to gain access. I was very disappointed in a boot that is awesome in all other aspects, but comes up short in the most important one. I will be bringing these back and choosing another boot. Don't want to have another trip ruined by a defective boot. Buyer beware.

Just OK - Cup for heel locks you in. Right tongue flap rubs my right inside ankle joint for some reason - no cushioning.

Just DON'T. Asolo boots have a manufacturing defect: they completely fall apart, and Asolo does not make good on them. Like so many other customers, I spent the extra money on Asolo boots based on their excellent reputation on so many hiking related forums. I should have done more research on the retail websites before investing in these expensive boots. Do your research, buy something else. Don't buy Asolo boots because: 1. They have a defect in the way the soles are attached to the boots, leading to catastrophic failure at the worst times, and 2. you don't want to do business with a company that will not acknowledge, and make right, their mistakes. Caveat Emptor indeed!

I have had 3 pairs of Fufitive GTX and one GV Evo. I LOVED these boots until ALL lost their soles. I am easy on my shoes and they will last several years BUT apparently Asolo has a built-in product end of life mechanism that causes sole de-lamination. Just noticed the GV Evos (still like new inside and out) are both losing the sole at the heel. NEVER GOING TO BUY ANOTHER ASOLO!

Best boots ever. Like many others, I have had many pairs. I've worn these overseas in combat zones and they are a perfect balance of toughness, agility, speed and comfort. I could run a marathon, climb a mountain, and kick booty with these bad boys.

I ordered these right away after receiving my normal size of 10 1/2 these are 11's Asolo builds an excellent boot wore the older TPX520 for 12+ years when working in the field for a utility. However these higher end hiking boots seem to be built tighter. So after toe larger ones came I sent the 10.5's back. These feel great right away looking forward to putting them to the test.

Quick to break in (daily wear for about a week). Have not taken them hiking yet but they are extremely comfortable. Tons of ankle support.

Love the shoe but ordered a medium width and got wide instead . So I am returning theM

This hiking boot has been very comfortable from day one. Price is a little high, but a great fit!

I tried on a lot of different boots recently and finally decided to keep these. I have had 4 previous Asolo boots over the past 20+ years and all have provided good quality and were long lasting. Too soon to say if these Fugitive GTX boots will last as long but the build quality seems quite good and so I have high hopes. The fit is good. I have never had to buy wide shoes or boots before but I found a lot of new boots I tried on were too narrow but these boots were wide enough without going wide. They are also somewhat more flexible than I expected and break in time was near non-existent. The only negative with these boots is the thin piece of useless cardboard that they call an insole and the stiff un-knot keeping laces... both replaced with better and life goes on.

i have a hammer toe on left foot so need wide as not to pinch my foot. Ther 13ee fit perfect. I get nike running shoes at 13 or 14 as nike runs small and i get cole haan at 13. I could not be happier with Zappos service and this brand and this hiking shoe. They are great looking , solid, and well made. Going hiking in Majorca in one week. Highly recomned this hiking boot.

Still the best all around three season backpacking boot. The polyurethane midsole adds durability to this boot. Just a fantastic boot.

Awesome boots, this is my second pair.

I'm a ground men for utility company in Southern California. I bought these to replace the Lowa renegade that wore out in under 5 months. A couple people in my yard have these and said they've had over a year on them, we'll see.

I just ordered the third pair of these for my husband. One to put in the closet so when the pair he's wearing now are worn out, he can move right into the new pair. He works outside and is on his feet and walking all day. He was wearing standard leather work boots and was having heel pain and pain across the top of his feet. I talked him into trying a hiking style boot over a year ago and after trying a half dozen different boots at different price points (thanks Zappo for the easy order/easy return!), he decided on these. They were comfortable out of the box and immediately relieved his foot pain. He goes through a pair about every 6-8 months (remember, EXTREMELY heavy use in all weather), but it's more than worth it for the comfort. He's even had a couple of the teens who work for him comment on how cool they are so they must be stylish!

Love these boots. They are the second pair that I have purchased from Asolo and they fit and wear wonderfully. Only item that I wish they would work on is the laces. They do tend, for me, to come come loose or untied frequently. I did get a 1/2 size larger this time to give my toe box more room.

I have owned five pairs of these over the last 13 years and I'm about to order another. I ordered my first pair for backpacking and haven't looked back. In fact, they are so comfortable that I wear them daily, regardless of season and weather conditions. The soles are very resilient to wear at the expense of a slight reduction in traction on wet or extremely cold surfaces. The manufacturing quality is second to none. I've never had an issue with water leakage up to my ankles regardless of how worn out they were. My only complaint about ALL Asolo boots (Fugitive/Agent GV) I've owned are the inferior insoles they use, they are total junk.

This is the second pair of these I have owned. They are the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever worn.

bought first pair in july 2009 size 10, all other shoes are 9.5. Worn with same gold toe dress sock!! Ordering a new pair as they have died!!!
