Liked the shoe's fit, but the construction isn't great – the cushioning collar stitched around the curve of the shoe opening has begun to detach after extremely lightweight use (under 50 wearings)

No cushion. Good fit. But for standing all day, not a good choice.
I'd also recommend:
Rockport, but not this one.

Very stiff shoe. Shoelaces don't stay tied. Not as comfortable as it looks.

These shoes look good, but they squeak every step. Never have had dress shoes do that. Must be something with the waterproofing. Also within a month of buying them the shoe laces started coming apart. The worst shoes I've bought that I can remember.

The label says dark brown. This color was light brown at best, and looked unnatural.

I bought these to replace a similar pair purchased more than a decade ago. The old ones were top notch, and I wore them until they fell apart. The new version is vastly inferior. The sole appears to be comparable, and the overall construction of the shoe is relatively sound. The problem is that the materials used for the upper are not at all what I expected. The material is thin, and either very low quality leather or some kind of synthetic. I do not expect them to hold up like my beloved ancient pair, and had I not needed them immediately for work I would have returned them.
If you purchase these, modify your expectations accordingly.

Comfortable. Attractive. But the heel wore out way too fast. I wore these from my front door to the car, from the car to inside the building where I sat at my desk all day, and even then only rose to walk on carpet, before back out to the car. And they didn't make it a year before the heels were so worn away that it affected the way I walked. ( For reference I'm 5"11 and only 186# ... so that's not it... )
I didn't realize how bad they were worn out until I put them on again recently, having recently only wearing newer shoes. The outside heels were wasted.
I would avoid. Comfortable? Yes... but the sole durability is super low. If you have the cash and don't care, sure enough go for it... but also, please note the reviews were not wrong about buying at least a half size down.

These shoes are stiff as boards. I've been wearing Rockport shoes since 1985 and this is the first pair that I can not break in. These will be thrown in the back of my closet and eventually given to Goodwill.

Love the quality, fit and style of the shoe but the sole/heel material needs to change, doesn't wear-well and lasts about 6 months under daily use. Have worn this Oxford for years and would give it a five star review if it wasn't for the sole material.

Quality has went down with each pair but my biggest beef is with the shoelaces. They tend to come apart rather quickly but the real problem is the odd length. Can't find anything to replace strings, either too long or too short. I have contacted company to buy t laces but never get any response. Soles have gotten lighter and not as durable.

I ordered these shoes for use at work with khakis and at home with blue jeans. I ordered my standard size 10.5 M. They were out of the color I wanted, so I went with espresso. When I got the shoes and tried them on, it was immediately obvious they were too loose with dress socks. The color was lighter than pictured online. The uppers were stiff with the feel of cardboard instead of leather. The suede finish was not for me and I suspect it would be difficult to keep looking clean/nice. I thought about exchanging these for the brown smooth version, but they were out of my size (and even size 10 which I would have considered based on the loose fit of the size 10.5 pair I got) and the more I walked around my house (using winter socks) it became obvious I would not be happy with these shoes. It used to be a Rockport purchase was a no brainer. I have two pair of Rockport black oxford leather wingtips that I bought 15 years ago (resoled several times) that are durable and comfortable. I fear like many brands, Rockport has gone to the cheap labor (made in Bangladesh!), cheap material model to enrich their corporate officers and shareholders. I would gladly pay more for high quality shoes that are comfortable and last. I will seek out a local shoe store where I can try shoes on.

I returned these shoes as i did not find them comfortable. As i walked around the house trying them on, they were too stiff and they dug into the top of my feet.

Very disappointing. Both heels wore down very quickly only after 3 weeks of use. Shredded material appeared at edge of heel and there was distinct wearing down of the heel with minimal use on paved paths.

Same size Northfield Rockport shoes as always but this time left fits perfectly but right of same model as last time pinching uncomfortably in heel as if it's different model or different factory. Just wearing around house trying to gradually stretch to comfort zone. Disappointed and frustrated. Trying to avoid UPS Covid risk interaction for return.

The color of the shoes I received were several shades lighter than the photo on the website. Definitely not dark brown. This is the second pair I have received from Zappos which were not the same color as the photograph online.

Fit and sizing were good but the weight of the shoe was incredibly light. There may be no correlation between the shoe's weight and the quality of materials used to make this Rockport but I can't help but feel these might not last as long as a leather made clone.

Unfortunately the shoes that were shipped were a muddy brown color, not the deep brown pictured on the product page. Returned without trying on... Disappointed.

I've been wearing Rockport shoes for 25 years and the Northfield for over 10 years and I'm sad to say the quality has deteriorated significantly over the past few years. For starters, the sole wears down too rapidly, and the latest pair I just bought seems to run extremely narrow. I had to wear them for two weeks before they quit hurting my feet. The materials used also feel cheaper, (the insoles visually confirmed this) compared to my previous pairs. Regrettably, the new construction means they are not immediately comfortable as they were in the past right out of the box, so this will be my last pair of Rockports.
