I have worn keens sandals for a decade or more now...my Newports had better arch support, so I was a tad disappointed with this Newport "H2"..meaning the NEWER version of the Newport...so guess I'll go down saying I liked the original better, and now I can't find it....may look at another brand...sad

Love my Keens both Venice and Newport lots of colors to wear year round. However, this recent purchase was slighting smaller than my comfort level. Sometimes, you have to try a few different pairs for the ideal fit. If the shoe fits buy it!

Beware: if you have been buying Newports in the past and are buying a new pair, you will want to size up "another" half size than you usually do. I have been wearing Newports for a dozen years. I have more than 30 pairs of this very shoe. My foot is a 9.5 ... I wear a size 10 in women's Newport (and a size 8 in men's Newport). Over the last couple of weeks I have bought two pairs, one women's and one men's. I had to return both of them and size up to 10.5 and 8.5. This is a very discouraging trend that I have noticed with Keen over the past couple of years. Their quality is going down, the shoes aren't nearly as roomy as they used to be, and now, they aren't even sizing them the same way. So, my suggestion would be to take advantage of Zappos free return shipping and order your regular size and and half size up and try them both and return the "too small" pair.

Keen quality is not what it used to be. I have worn the Newport for 14 years and loved them. I skipped two years of buying new ones as they lasted forever and I had lots of colors.
First they stopped making the black in women's, except for the flimsy whisper, and the design is now different. I ordered a purple pair this year and the ankle strap is huge and the toe box is narrower. I'm sad to have to send them back as I was very excited to have a new pair of Keens.

Hot and I don't mean good looking (which they are). My feet never sweat, but in these shoes they are overheated and soaked within minutes of putting them on. This means washing them more often than wearing them. But it seems others don't have this problem. Try them on at store first and see if your feet start to boil - if not, then they are very comfortable and otherwise the perfect shoe.

I own one of these Keen shoes they are very comfortable and (I do have troubled feet). The problem is I would have to struggle to get in the shoes because of the elastic laces. I wish they would bring back the backless style.

I have owned Keens before, but never this style. The 'whisper' I tried was too narrow. This felt very snug and my feet ached after a full day of wearing, not to mention they made my feet perspire! I've bought Teva's and Reefs as well this month, and had no problems with them. Disappointed in these.

These shoes felt very nice at first, but after a couple of months of wear (not too often, on week-ends) somehow the arch support doesn't feel very good. Will not buy again.

These sandals were purchased for canoeing and kayaking. Very comfortable and quick to dry. Only problem (and for me a deal-breaker) was that they turned my toenails black...ruined my nail polish. And even when worn without nailpolish my toenails were black. My husband has a pair and the same thing happens to him...although for him the comfort of these sandals was worth it!

After reading other reviews I was anticipating a very uncomfortable shoe. However, this shoe just doesn't fit well. The bands hit my little toes in a bad spot and actually have left blisters.

I had a pair of Keens that I loved. These seem less than comfortable compared to my other pair. They are much flatter and don't offer much arch support. The others lasted a 12 hour shift and then some. I am lucky to not have sore feet and a sore back after 4 hrs in these. For Keen lovers, you will need to give these some serious consideration BEFORE buying. Don't compare them to any other Keens you've had.

Allergic to these shoes -
I tried these shoes on and they seemed fine indoors. Very comfortable, shoe seemed perfect. However, when I got in the car, within 10 minutes my feet started to "weep" with perspiration, and they began to ITCH. I had to pull over and take the shoes off. I was perplexed. I visited the Keen website, and they have a section of their FAQ that explains that some people are allergic to the antimicrobial treatment in the neoprene lining of the shoe. They have a shoe model in their line that does not contain that chemical and advertise that if you have a reaction, they will exchange your shoes. I did not have time to deal with that, and the shoes were too hot to wear in 110 degree desert heat in my opinion.
I returned them immediately, and replaced them with Chaco sandals...I am thrilled with my Chaco sandals. My feet can breathe, will stay cooler, and they are more comfortable... better arch support.

Oops -
I kind of goofed with this shoe - comfortable, but clunky looking and not very flattering. I ordered the lime green color (they were out of almost all the other colors) and am having a hard time getting them to go with anything. I am taking them to Hawaii this summer, but wish I had gotten a more flattering style. I have several Keens and love them all, but this one. Zappos' service can't be beat.

Looks aren't everything, when will I learn -
I'll be honest; I have bunions. Need to remain hip, hide them, and sometimes need a sandal. Newport H2 were the best choice. Ordered my size (9.5) and a 10 - kept the 10. Lesson #1: order a size up. Love the look, style, durability, and color (Kiwi). After about an hour, they really were hurting. I decided (rationalizing all the way as so many women do) they simply needed break-in time. Wrong. Lesson #2: don't wear them outside and return them immediately if they hurt. Tried them with socks - not a good look. Helped a bit in fit, but, in the end should have returned them! Footbed is a bit tough, feet sweat in them, hurt the bunions, but of course, I'll keep them and take Advil. That's the kind of gal I am. I love Keens and Zappos, so hopefully, lessons learned. Read reviews which referred to blisters and rubbing, but I didn't have those concerns. The fit was good - it was me that was the problem.

High Hopes Dashed -
I had such high hopes for these shoes, wanting a pair of sports sandals suitable for 3 weeks of walking in Europe in warm weather. Ordered a full size up, since they don't offer the shoe in wide. The arch support felt great, but everything else was a disappointment: tight, heavy, and funny ridges pressing on the pinkie toes. After just 5 minutes of walking around on my carpet, my feet felt hot and constricted. These are getting returned today, I'm sad to say, especially since I love the colors and even the odd look.

These looked so comfortable, but they are not. The stitching throughout the shoe is rough and exposed. After two weeks of wearing them, I have raw skin on my heels and toes. The foot bed is heavy plastic material and causes my feet to sweat and gather dirt. Finally, they are heavy and tight – I can't wait to kick them off. Finally, I wrote the company directly to ask about the exposed stitching, and they never wrote me back. Overall, a huge disappointment.

Disappointed -
I had previously bought a pair of the Newport H2's and loved them but after a year of wear and tear (including hiking the Grand Canyon) I desperately needed a new pair. I ordered the same style & size but they were too small, when I ordered another size up the mold of the sole hurt my toes. I was surely disappointed.

Heavier than expected -
They look good and feel pretty good but are heavier than expected and pinchy around my pinky toe. Perhaps a half size larger would be better. Great colors.

"These shoes suck!"
Thus saith my friend, quoted out of context, for a catchy title.
I really do LOVE these shoes. Ditto with regards to what everyone has enthusiastically said, except in one area: smooth, wet, river granite boulders and river rock.
I have to agree completely with my outspoken friend, who bought a pair of H2's on my recommendation! In fact, I talked four people into buying them because I really enjoyed their fit (I have a supremely narrow foot), their comfort in walking and standing for hours on end, their PROTECTION of the toes which I always scrape up on rocks.
I had been told, and now read, that these shoes are tops in water and had great traction on smoothie, wet surfaces (go back and read the "details" about these guys), but when we went "scrambling" in the Big Sur River, my friend and I were slipping and sliding all over the place while our friends, wearing their Chacos, had plenty of traction over wet, slick boulders and river bed rocks.
So, they don't slip in my bathtub, but they were worse than worthless in the BSR. Maybe they work great on rough, wet rock or lava or coral or boat decks...but I'll be sure to take my Chacos along in case they don't.

Not as comfortable as I had hoped.
Overall, I am pleased with the shoes. I was not looking for an attractive shoe, but one which was good for hot weather hiking and able to go into the water. Unfortunately, they are not as comfortable or soft as air as they were touted to be. They chafe my little toe on my right foot, but I'm hoping with time the will soften up and get more comfortable. I am wearing them camping this weekend, which was the original reason for my purchase and have worn them twice to break them in, but not too happy.

Purchased the Newport H2 for a trip to Europe. Wanted to take only one all-purpose shoe. The shoe is great for hiking and walking in cooler weather but once the weather got hot, my feet sweat very badly and caused blisters. Would not recommend for Mediterranean warm climate.

Mixed bag.
These shoes are very comfortable, but I found they were made my feet too hot...they're just not "sandal-y" enough for my needs. The footbed is very comfortable though...so much so that I plan on ordering a pair of their shoes. They're not pretty shoes, but they're funky, which is why I gave them four stars in the look department.
Incidentally, my husband has these shoes (the men's version, obviously) and he adores them.
I have some other Keen shoes and I love them. These sandals just weren't for me.

Don't Buy for Boating -
I love these sandals. They're comfortable, and I wore them all summer. But one of the reasons I bought them was to wear them when boating. Contrary to what the description says, they WILL leave black marks all over your boat. I was a little disappointed since I paid more than I would have normally, and can't use them for something they are designed for.
