I bought these and the Whisper sandal to compare the two. The Whisper is lighter and has a more slim/streamlined look while the H2s are a bit more heavier, sturdier, and have a wider toe box.
When I first put these on they felt comfortable around the house and had more arch support than the Whispers. I liked the added protection around the toe area as well. Unfortunately after wearing them for a full day out and about walking (around a city) I started to notice a few issues: first, the straps that go across dug into the top of my foot, especially in the left shoe. I tried adjusting the bungee mechanism but couldn't find a solution. Secondly, the back straps dug into the back of my heel on both shoes while walking around. Thirdly, I noticed after wearing them for a full day my feet started to feel fatigued. Not sure if this was caused by the above issues or just me noticing how heavy these shoes were after a full day of wearing. Lastly, the shoes just look comical and a bit too wide for my taste and the design of the sole reminded me of camo, which is not the look I'm going for; I ordered Raven/Swirl Outsole - but this is just my personal preference. Would be nice if Keen came out with solid colors for the whole shoe (Whispers kinda have this going for them).
So with these issues I'm going to have to return. These were also my first foray into Keen shoes as well. For reference I'm a size 6.5US/37EU and found the sizing to be consistent and not too wide/small for me.

Great looking sandal, but a little snug. One of the straps kept rubbing against and irritating my toes.

I am not keeping this shoe. I was disappointed. I was a wearer of (and still have) the open back Keen Saratoga clog, which I wish was still made (I bought every pair I could find when I saw they were no longer making them.) I needed a water and stony lake beach shoe, so thought I'd try this. If you have less sensitive or "difficult" feet, this might work for you. I on occasion need an 8, and I did in this show, though 80% of the time I'm a 7.5 M. I've got a thin (no fat on feet at all--very bony), spreading "duck" foot, and this shoe fit the duck part fine, but there was no room to spare. The sole was comfortable and had moderate arch support, and it felt good and like I could walk a good ways in it and feet would be protected from sharp rocks, etc. I'm returning because the insides of the shoe weren't very soft. I wished it was lined in neoprene or something, or had more cushion under the straps. There was some lining, but it wasn't enough for me. But, I do have ultra sensitive feet, with a super high arch and instep, so maybe there would be less pressure on someone else. On my left foot, I also felt a little pressure at the outer left widest part of my foot. I'm not sure if I will try another Keen or not. I may look for a similar shoe in a higher end "comfort" brand like Eccoa and see what I can find.
I'd also recommend:
Naot, Ecco, Asics, Solomon (hikers), La Canadienne, Clarks

I've never worn Keens before and was hopeful they would work for an upcoming trip that involves hiking and water. I want something sturdy that will dry quickly. However, they are not comfortable to my foot. The forward part of the shoe is super snug, but then the back feels really insubstantial by comparison. I felt like the front was squeezing my foot backward to the heel strap, and it made it feel like my heel was going to slide off the back. Maybe they were a half size too big and a smaller shoe wouldn't have that much play, but then I'm afraid they would be too tight across my midfoot. Back to the drawing board!

I have ordered Keen for years. These ran smaller than narrow than when I previously bought a similar style in Keens.

I have a new pair of Keen Newports and absolutely love them. The size is true and they are so comfortable. I ordered the teal colored pair because I wanted a spare. They were much more narrow than my other new pair, plain uncomfortable. I sent them back in hope's that the shark color will run true to size and width. Keen used to be very consistent with their shoes but this year (2019), I'm finding several styles that are too short and narrow. KEEN, please have better quality control.

These might have been my favorite, everyday shoe except for one slight thing, and that is the placement of the straps. On my other Keen's the strap covers my pinky toes, on this shoe the strap crosses the nail of my pinky toes, leaving me with a strange sensation that my toe may pop out of the shoe at any time. The sensation of the strap on my nail was also strange.
That said, the shoe is solid with awesome arch support and looks great. Hopefully you will have better luck with this shoe, I know my issue has less to do with the shoe and more to do with my feet!

These are great sandals, just a little bit too big and clunky looking for what I'm after. Also, the heel strap doesn't adjust, and that would be helpful.

I have had my current pair of Keens for several years and now need a new pair. I even had to size up back then; my size 5.5 had to be a size 6, which fit well. Now the shoes are more narrow than they used to be and the overall cavity is smaller. I ended up having to get a 6.5 to get close, but not exact, to how my old pair fits. I'm disappointed and not sure if I will keep these.

I have owned multiple pairs of Keen Newport Newport and have never had a problem until now. The color I ordered was Mulch. I always order a half size larger in Keen as they do run small, but this pair felt a smidge smaller than normal, but not so short that the next size up would work. It also didn't feel like my foot was setting correctly in the foot bed. I ended up ordering two more - Black Rose and Slate Black. The Rose felt the same as the Mulch, but luckily the Slate Black felt like good ol' Keens! I am uber picky about shoes so maybe this would not be an issue for others. Thank you Zappos for catering to those of us with foot issues.

I need shoes and sandals with support and a rigid sole because of arthritis in my feet and a recent ankle injury. The soles on the Newport H2 were too flexible for me. I ordered Keen Arroyo II at the same time. I am keeping the Arroyo2 because they work so much better for my difficult feet. Thank you Zappos for letting me order and return!!

These new Newport H2s are stiffer than the first ones they sent me which had a more supple sole, amongst other differences. (I would have kept those but the webbing was positioned incorrectly.) This production style is like wearing cleats: that stiff.
The slate color is really dark and the blue trim is vibrant, not muted.
Take note when you read the reviews that they might be from the older production style.

Really great looking sandal but the sole felt a bit hard to me and I was looking for a little more comfort. Perhaps just not a good fit to my feet so I returned.

This pair of keen are great they just look clunky on my feet. I don't know why I keep trying kens as the toe box is just too wide for my feet. They make me look like I have clown shoes on. Other than that the shoes are awesome. I can tell they would have been great to take on my trip to Arizona and Utah hiking. They would be comfortable, allow air to circulate, and easily washed & dried every night.

I ordered one of each style because I wanted to decide which one fit my foot the best. The reviews were good but the best thing is to try them on. He H'2 is narrower than the Whisper and the Hydro's. It is bulkier in look like the Hydro. I usually wear a 8 1/2 in dress shoes and a 9 in tennis shoes. I ordered a 9 and that was the correct length. I have a bunion on my right foot and this shoe was definitely to tight on that foot, but also fitted on my left foot. This shoe would be best for a narrow footed person. They had good arch support and were comfortable otherwise.
The Hydro's are wider in the fit, heavier in feel and look but are very comfortable. I think they have the best arch support of the 3 styles. My problem with them is my hammer toe on the toe next to my pinky toe that causes it to ride higher. The hydro has a strap that rubbed a blister on that toe in a very short time of wearing it. Sadly I have to return them because I really liked the arch support and comfortable heel that would be good for long hikes. I also ordered the 9 in this shoe that fit in length well.
I hope this helps other decide on the best shoe for them.
The Whisper is the shoe I have chosen to keep but feel the 8 1/2 will be the best size. In the 9 I have a full thumbs length from the end of my big toe to the tip of the shoe. The are light weigh, comfortable but not quite as comfortable as the Hydro. There is arch support but not quite as much as the Hydro or H2.
i have a old pair of Keens (at least 5 year old) and I love them. I think the Whisper is the closest to them too.
I hope this review helps you decide on your best fit. I love the Zappos return policy!!

These are pretty good and give good support. I wish the footbed was a little softer on the surface, it is cushioned enough though.

I ordered multiple pairs of Keens. For some reason, this style was the most narrow. No way for people with wide feet. Disappointed, as two prior pairs of Keens were always plenty wide for my foot.

I love Keens and over the many years I've probably had about 12 or more pairs, and counting my family we're likely over 20 pairs. This is the first pair of Keens I've ever tried on that were not true to size. They felt about a size small to me, perhaps a 1/2 size in length, but with the tightness of the connected fabric parts (that only stretches so much) I'd say a full size. This was super disappointing because the color/style is really cute and the bottom is more nubby than the other Keens I ended up keeping, yet I really wanted a super nubby bottom. Had these fit I'd have kept them. I could have exchanged for a size up, but we're leaving on a trip (for which I was needing new Keens), so had to go with the equally cute, but slightly less nubby bottom (it's the Venice H2, in case you're wondering what I went with). I likely wouldn't have ordered more than one pair of Keen's but other reviews were mentioning sizing issues, so luckily I did order the second pair of another style so I'd have something for the trip. I also like the style/look of the ones I kept a tiny bit better and it's a style I'd never ordered before, so it worked out fine.
Our house lot is on a hillside, so I tested out the Venice H2 to see if it would be grippy enough, since the nubby-ness is less and it seemed to do just fine. So, hopefully that will apply in practice on the trip as well.

I used to be a huge fan of Keens but I find them feeling less and less comfortable and not lasting as long as they used to. Styles are still super cute but that's about it.

Loved the look of this shoe but size 11 was too short, whereas size 11 on the Keen Venice H2 was perfect in size and not too short.

I ordered this for my daughter for summer, and while the size appears to be spot on, she couldn't get her foot into the opening. There is not enough give or stretch for her to get her foot past the very narrow foot opening. The adjustable bungie is useless if the material underneath has no give. Wanted to love them, but had to send them back. They appear to very sturdy and would have been great for hiking, etc.

These shoes had a great footbed, except an odd line in the front near the toes that seemed like it would cause blisters during wear. The top is deceptive - it has lacing, but has a tight elastic underlay that undermines any attempt to loosen the laces and adjust tension on one's foot. I usually wear a 9 W in street shoes, but ordered a 9.5 W, since these are athletic. The length was perfect at a 9.5, but would definitely have been short in a 9. If you get these, order up 1/2 to a full size. The color was nice. These were a little narrow for a wide.
