Best Sandals Ever!
These are the best sandals ever! My last pair lasted 5 years and I wear them almost every day. Chaco’s are resolable, so when the bottom's worn out you can just send them in and have a new sole put on. If you're not going to be using these for river shoes only get the Terreno sole- it is much beefier and lasts longer than the other soles.

Great sandals -
The strap system takes a little getting used to, so be patient. Order wide if you have wide feet. Once you've discovered the proper adjustment for your feet, these will become an extension of you! Excellent arch support combined with the best sole in the business make these well worth the money you spend. These were purchased on the recommendation of a friend who has worn them for years. Great sandal delivered from a great company. As far as ethics are concerned, Chaco delivers a product that is good for everyone.

Best Sandal Ever -
I bought the Z/2 Terreno on sale in December, and I have not been happier. Whether it's hiking in the Guadalupe Mountains or walking to class, I love these shoes. When it's too cold for bare feet, I drop the toe loop, put on a pair of wool socks and my feet are fine. I'd definitely buy another pair.

Tactical sandal-
These things knock out miles as good as my Army boots! If you want sandals for more than walking from couch to car, get these. I put down several 10+ mile day hikes in these. As long as I didn’t kick any rocks I never had a single problem. The insole is VERY grippy and can be rough on soft feet for a couple days. Once you’re past that you will never take them off, it took snow to get them off me.

So far so good, but still getting used to them.
I just got my first pair of Chaco's after wearing Teva's for the last 4 years. They are far more adjustable than Teva's, but subsequently take quite a bit more adjustment to get them where they need to be. It took me quite a while, because when they feel good sitting down, as you walk they loosen or tighten because all of the straps are interconnected. I think I have it about down though. When I'm just being casual, I just loosen the main strap so my foot is in place on the footbed, but my ankle has some wiggle room, then if I do anything more intense, I just give 'em a pull and the tighten right up, but my footbed area remains the same. I have a feeling over time I will become attached to these things. If you want something just to put on and go, Teva's have that generic fit, but if you are willing to put some effort into making your sandals yours... I'd say these are the ones. The lugs in the soles are nice too, I've carried a 25lb. daypack in these over terrain including wearing them in water w/ no problems. I loved my Teva's, but I think I'm on to something here.

Best Sandals I've ever owned!
Thanks for the wide width. I have wide feet size 11 1/2 - 12 EEE with a high instep and always have a hard time finding wide high volume shoes that fit. These are a little heavy but it adds to their feel of indestructibility and comfort. They are very stable for a sandal, I could even run in them if I wanted, and would feel comfortable carrying a mid-weight backpack some distance wearing these. I have very wide feet and for the first couple of days they felt a little narrow back where they cup by the heel. But they feel great now, I adjusted the straps with my foot a little more forward and either they broke in or I broke in, but it does not seem to be much of a problem now! Also my feet seem to stay cooler in these than in my other sandals. Most of my other sandals get stinky after only a couple of days of wear, even my Tevas that have been treated with microban or whatever have not helped. With these that hasn't been a problem and if they start looking dirty I just toss them in the washing machine with a load of laundry. I'm sold, I've been wearing them since they arrived. I'll be buying more Chacos in the future for myself and my family and friends. Highly recommended!

Chaco's Z/2 - Terreno Outsole -
My first pair of Chaco's, and I am quite impressed all around. The toe strap/strap adjustment system works very well. The shoes are comfortable, but they do tend to make your feet sweat a bit. As you probably already know, they are a bit on the heavy side, which is expected from the thickness of the Terreno sole. I expect the Colorado sole to be quite a bit lighter. Haven't given them much trail duty yet, as the weather has been a bit nasty, but can't wait to do so. The ultimate test will be the Grand Canyon in August.

student - If you are the outside activities lovers, this will be perfect for you. Even you just want to wear it for walking, it's fine, too. Overall, I will give this shoes high recommendation.

The true miracle of Chaco's is the combination of function and style in a product. Rarely in the footwear and apparel industry does a company capitalize on both of these attributes. Chaco has done their research and came up with a striking array of strap placement that not only accents the athletic shape of your foot but also supports it in all the key places as well. I've wanted a pair for years, and now zappos.com's great deals have made it happen.
I wear a size 8.5 and I went with size 8, regular. It fits perfect! But if you have a fat foot, go with wide.

Chacos rule -
Fantastic tactical sandals! My new Chaco's handled extreme urban meandering as well as hiking thrugh the ruins of Chitzen Itza equally well. Once you get the straps tightened just right (not all that easy mind you) you have sandals that feel like a second skin. One word of warning, if you have any hair on your big toe, be prepared to have it stripped off during the break-in process.

Chaco Z/2 Terreno -
These sandals are great, increbibly comfortable and stable. My only problem is that a minor one at best. I must have narrow feet because when I cinch the strap down, there is so much excess that it drags on the ground.

Chacos Rule!
I currently own this shoe and absolutely love it. I have hiked and backpacked all over in this sandal. They still look and feel like the day I bought them. A very good investment! It feels like a shoe, and is so wonderful. I just purchased a pair for my fiance and had to exchange them for one size smaller, it must run a size larger. Very comfortable and sturdy. Would highly recommend for backpacking, camping, or everyday activities.

Chaco's are the best -
This is probably the 6th pair of Chacos that I've purchased for my husband. He loves these sandals. In fact, he hiked the whole Appalachian Trail in them in 2003. I purchased a pair last summer and love them! I wear them all the time. And it's great that you can have them resoled and restrapped.

New Chaco Z/2 user -
Nice sandal! The toe loop takes some getting used to. I haven't done any serious walking in the sandal yet, but the sole seems tough & the straps are confortable. The toe loop seems to clamp down on my big toe when I'm walking. It's an odd feeling, but you don't notice it after awhile. Get the wide size unless you have a skinny foot. I took another reviewers advice & got the wide size & I'm glad I did. Overall, almost as confortable as my Birkenstocks but MUCH tougher & should last MUCH longer.

Look out for sand -- rugged and versatile -
Packed just this pair to
1. Hike to isolated beaches in Kauai. A few times I wished I had gotten the aquastealth, but the tread sticks, and the straps -- when bomber tight -- work great. No slips, no pronation, no falls thanks to the control added by the toe loop. Great footbed support -- even carrying weight.
2. Bum around. Watch the sand under the toe loops. Sandburn develops super fast.
3. Get married. My groomsmen loved getting a useful gift instead of the usual wedding crap-ola. Five of five rave reviews from them, too. All hikers, none too ginger on their footwear.
I came home and thew away several pairs of tennis shoes.
Sidenote: They wash out nicely when they get funky.

As good as it gets -
I am used to wearing the Birkenstock and thought I liked them a bunch. Now I do not even wear them anymore. Last 2 weeks I took my Chacos to Alaska and put them through the ringer. Gotta lovem.

Hardcore sandals -
Well, so far so good...these sandlas are great for off road adventures. The toe strap seems hard to get adjusted just right but once you get it right, things are great. These chaco's feel rugged, secure and durable...only time will tell. So far I am very impressed, and this is coming from someone who could care less about footwear, maybe my mind is changing. Maybe one does get what one pays for, and they are made in the USA!

Great sandal -
Took awhile to adjust fit and get use to straps, especially one around toe.
Once strap comfort figured out they are very comfortable and provide great support. Have been able to comfortably hike for good distances wearing them.
Thanks

The sandals took some time to get the straps set where I liked them and break them in, but once I got everything figured out I couldn't get them off my feet. This is a great pair of versatile sandals!
