I'm 70 and have been wearing clogs since I was in my 20s; but I haven't had a pair for a number of years. In BOOTS, I generally wear men's size 11.5, wide, so I ordered 11.5-12. Long story short, I ended up having to order Size 46. Oddly, size 47 was not as wide as the 46.

I bought these for my husband as in house shoes instead of slippers. He walked hunched over after his knee and hip replacement and complained of pain. What a difference in his gait and no more pain! Thankyou Dansko.

I'm a professional chef and typically wear a 42 in Birkenstocks, but I get these in a 44 and they fit perfect! Dansko clogs can take a few days to break in so if you are working long hours on your feet, you might want to bring a spare pair of shoes to give you feet a rest in the meantime. Otherwise they break in like a baseball glove and will become your feet's best friend.

My husband has worn this shoe style for years after his podiatrist recommended for arch support. He can wear them without his custom inserts. They hold up well, once they are worn out he uses them for garden shoes.

Eons ago I had a pair of Dutch clogs with wooden bottoms in college and eventually wore them out. Dansko Karl is my first pair of open back clogs since then. I wear a standard size 9, 42, and was worried based on the reviews that it would be too small. The 42 fits perfectly with the back of my heel lining up with the end of the shoe. I suppose the 43 would fit a little big on me. The style looks a bit mother earthy for going out, but the excellent arch support reminds me of what I have been missing all these years. Such a relief when standing!

Extremely comfortable shoe. I couldn't be more satisfied. This is probably the most comfortable shoe that I have ever owned. I just order the same shoe in brown. I suffer from a very painful deformity on my heal so most shoes are painful for me to wear. The Dansko Karl shoe has a completely open back with a raised heel so the pressure is taken off of the heel. The moment I placed this shoe on my foot the pain instantly vanished. As always Zappos customer service and support is always amazing as well.

Great shoe for those who stand most of the time and are not in a great rush. I'm a medical professional and now see why my colleagues prefer these. As a guy it does feel like I'm wearing high heels (balance) and the restrictions that come with them. But my back and feet certainly don't feel fatigued at end of day. It's very stiff at first and have to break them in. Plan to put a thin insert so my feet stay a little more securely since it is an open back. Since it's open in rear don't plan on fast paced walks. After work I prefer to go back to my crocs for everyday stuff. But at work..can't beat these.

I really like these shoes. A little getting used to and now my go to shoes. Okay, they aren't going to pass the test at work. I'd take too much guff from my coworkers. A man in clogs in a US office, probably okay in 8% of the offices. Love them elsewhere.

Over many years I have been buying these -- and I wear them all the time, both at work and at home. I have a very standard foot size, 10 Medium or 43 is almost always just right for me. In the past six years, the sizing of these shoes has sometimes varied a little, and I have needed in the past to go up or down one size. This pair, this time and last year as well, is a perfect fit at 43.
My only complaint is that the heel of the shoe wears down fairly rapidly. So I end up buying a new pair about every 9 months. The rest of the shoe is always still in fine shape.

This is the third pair of these shoes for my husband. He is flat footed and the arch support is perfect. He can wear them all day without any pain. They hold up well. His old ones are used for working in his garden.

Like all clogs, these take a couple weeks to break in. I definitely keep my old pair and switch off until they are 100% comfy and formed to my foot. I love these shoes and have used them for years. I also have a pair of the XP with the back, and the non-slip sole is terrible for some reason. These are much better in the kitchen and offer comfort and safety! I recommend these to everyone in the industry and encourage them to make the switch to dansko!

Very comfortable shoes. Highly recommend this clog. I does run small so order the next size up. I only wish they made these no-back clogs in a little dressier style to wear with a suit. I feel a bit like a chef or surgeon when I wear mine with a suit. I have Haglunds bumps on my ankle and these really make life easier!
