I am here to tell you that I LOVE my Caribous! I have had them for many, many years, and they have held up better than I have any right to expect. I only wish I had had them when I was living in Toronto - I could not afford them when I was a starving student, but NY can be extremely snowy too, and they have done their job beautifully, and stood the test of time. I do find them a little hard to get on and off, because I usually wear 2 prs wool socks under them, and now, after at lest 35 yrs of limited, snowy day use, the leather is beginning to crack. Probably from the crud they put on the snow and ice to make it go away (instead of shoveling it!) and my failure to use leather soap and neat's foot oil on them once in a while. I have gotten every penny's worth out of them that I put in, and then some. Can't recommend them highly enough! Savvy

I purchased these boot for my daughter as part of her gear for her freshman year at Bennington College in Vermont. I wanted her to have boots that would stand up to the Vermont winters, and be stylish enough for her to willingly wear them. As far as her wearing them goes: These were the first items set out to be packed in the car. It's still in the 80s and I suspect it will be at least a week or two before temperatures plummet on her campus (!), but I am confident in at least this part of her college experience: Her feet will be warm and dry, and her footing secure.

I purchased a pair of these boots thirty years ago and I still wear them today. They are nearly brand new and show no signs of wear or breakdown. I live in the New England and we get amazing winters here. These boots have slogged through icy water and snow and my feet are always toasty warm and stay dry. Top rated product!!! Worth Every Single Penny!!!!!! Now I'm getting them for all my kids!

These boots are amazingly comfortable and warm! Unfortunately, we did not get any weather this winter to allow me to test them out properly. I will pack them away in my closet and hope to put them to use next year!

I live in Alaska, so I have a lot of boots. Most of them are cuter than this pair, but none of them are warmer. And with this type of boot, isn't that the point? I recently wore these to a winter festival where we were walking around outside for about seven hours. I was warm and the boots were comfortable. I would say the size is pretty true, I usually wear a 9 and that is what I ordered. They fit fine, plenty of wiggle room in the toes, but a size down would have been too small. The only problem I have had so far is on ice. These boots have no traction!

Just got my Sorel caribou today and I absolutely love them! They are extremely warm and sturdy. I haven't tried them in winter weather yet but I have no doubt that they will keep me warm, dry and make it easy for me to trudge through snow and ice. As a previous UGGs owner, I can honestly say that the Sorel Caribou is the better choice and regret not making the decision to get Sorels earlier!

Bought m previous Sorel's about 25 years ago for winter hiking; they never really wore out as I still use them for snow shoveling and walking the dog on really snowy days. I wanted to up date my snowshoeing and winter hiking gear. After looking around and trying on several different vendors' boots, I came back to my Sorels in their latest version. I really like the fit and their grip in the snow. I feel like I'm on solid ground with them. I suspect this second pair will also last me many years of winter trekking!! Thanks for a great product!

I wore these during two winters in Northern Poland and I'm still kicking myself for leaving them behind for my landlord to use. The only time my feet got cold was when the thermometer was below -25C. My feet were never wet! I could pull out the insoles for quick drying or washing due to foot sweat and be ready to go in a few hours. If I move to Hokkaido Island Japan, I'm buying another pair (shale/stone) and this time I won't be leaving them behind.

I actually ordered these boots in a size 8 and when I got them they were really big. I returned them for the size 7 and they fit great. Still room for thick comfy socks and are very comfortable. They are a little heavy but I figure it gives me a bit more support out on the snow and ice. They go with everything from leggings to jeans and even my sweater dresses. I am very pleased with this purchase and Sorel has made a lifetime customer out of me.

At first I thought they were was to manly. And then I walked my dog in 2 ft of snow, and now I love these boots. Super warm, super comfy, and quite cute! They do run large. I wear a 7.5 so I got the 7, but I wish I purchased the 6.

I bought these to replace a pair I bought years ago for some time I spent in Montana. My old ones fit sloppy, but that's because I let the stupid salesperson in a sporting goods store talk me into the size a little large. My old boots were destroyed and I realized after the first snow storm of the year I needed to replace them. I bought these Sorels and LOVE the way they fit, feel and look. So happy with my new pair...normally I wear a half size but I know these do run large and I'm cozy in my new boots. I just wish it would snow.

I wear a size 6 1/2 and was disapointed that when I ordered a sigze 7 I could not get my foot in the liner. So that pair is going back and I ordered a size 8, wish they came in half sizes. I stole my first pair from my husband 30 years ago and loved them. I will never be without a pair of Sorel boots.

Though we don't get massive amounts of snow in Pittsburgh, we get snow and ice, and I've got a couple of Cardigan corgis to walk -- they need lots of exercise, AND they have short legs and therefore a low center of gravity, AND they're entirely made out of muscle and concrete, AND though they're pretty well behaved they sometimes pull me all of a sudden when they see friends or squirrels. So I've been terrified in icy conditions. I've tried many things -- cleats on my boots, other boots, some other boots besides that. But my partner found that these boots had the best tread recommendation, and I bought a pair. They are astounding. They're warm, which is even more than I expected, and the thick sole means that the chill of the ice doesn't get through to my feet. They're heavy enough to give me a lower center of gravity, but not so heavy I can't walk. And several times I've started to slip on the ice, but the tread stops me. I love these boots. If I live long enough to wear them out, I'll buy another pair.

Got my boots, but they were quite large. I normally wear a women's 7 1/2, so I went up to an 8, but my feet were swimming in them. Returning them & getting a 7, based on other reviews that said they loosen up considerably after wear. Can't wait because they are so flippin' cute! They're rugged & undoubtedly tough, but very stylish, too.

I wear a 9 but went with a 10 based on other reviews, wow when I got it, it was huge like putting on my sons boots who wears a mens 11. I should have stuck with the 9. But great boots lots of wool thick lining for a great cold weather boot.
I'd also recommend:
Chaco, Lassen, Merrill, Ugg

I am just glad to get a size 12 womans shoe and I am sure once we get snow in VT they will work great. Just wish more shoe manufacturers would make shoes in size 12 as the mens equal is too wide and they are not in styles a woman would want. I would love a pretty pair of ladies boots but limited because of size.

My primary use for this boot is outside work and activities. These fit perfectly, relatively no break-in period. (Just a little stiff.) I keep them loosely laced for slipping on and off with no retying. The Caribou is exactly what I was looking for and given the quality will most likely last many years of tough winter work-outs.
