These are nice looking and fairly comfortable, except that the width is definitely less than 4E which creates a bit of a pinch for me. But I'm keeping them to see how they wear.

The size was fine it was the 'WIDTH' that seem narrower that a 4-E so I'll just have to find Dad a 5-E shoe.

I bought these for my husband. And, YAY the 4E fits! He says they're very comfortable, but kind of ugly! Oh well!

I have worn narrow shoes (B width) for many years. These shoes just seemed to be a bit more narrow.

I've bought these before with no trouble with the fit. I need 4E width, which for these shoes is XW. The shoes I get are marked XW but there is no way these are 4E, and I think they would be narrow for 2E.

Rockport makes great shoes, overall. These have full leather uppers and a well attached one piece sole. Like most walking shoes, the soles are made for sidewalk or paved path, and possibly crushed, packed gravel. There is no off-path lugging of the outsole which is mostly flat. Also, the style is that of a dress shoe and not an athletic shoe. Would be great for office environments. However, as with my World Tour Rockports, they have a thinly padded lining. Compared to some other shoes, these take some breaking in and feel "harsh". They feel exactly true to width with no extra space. Be sure you know your width and have feet that are pretty well matched in size. The shoes come in a D and EE widths and unfortunately the EE is just too wide and the D a bit too narrow and have to be stretched. Of note, the shoestring holes are slits instead of round eyelets. They look nice with supplied and laced flat shoestrings. I have no idea how the slits will hold up. Footbed is hard, even with the supplied thin foam and cloth insole. I'd recommend removing them and replacing with with something softer if you plan to wear them all day while standing or for a lot of walking. A insole can also be added to improve arch support and compensate for a too wide shoe. I find that they have little arch support and I need much more.

My husband has been wearing these Rockport sneakers for many year. The issue is with my husband's swollen instep. He will need to wear them to stretch them. We will need to purchase longer laces.

True to size. Stylish enough for an older man.

I really wanted to like these but no way are the 4E wide...more like Wide or 2E at most.

Wearing them around the house before I set out on a multiple day journey. 1st day was not good but getting a little better. Much stiffer than last I remember Rockports to be when new.

fit was good, no pinch or surprise, Well made, and , yep, they're excellent for long walks
