Great Walking Shoes. I do a LOT of city walking, and as a result I have a few demands of my footwear, 1. Comfort. I love my full brogue wing tips from Church's, however, for city walking, my Newbies are more comfortable. They have good materials and padding in the right spot for my foot shape. I never have to worry about a blister from a poorly constructed part of the shoe. This aspect is sadly not an industry standard. 2. Cushion. These shoes got it, and how! 3. Breathability. With the amount of walking I do, shoes that breathe are a necessity. These have a nylon mesh above the toes which help with wicking away moisture. 4. Lightweight. These shoes weigh very little, which helps prevent fatigue when walking long distances. 5. Look. The last thing I want to look like is one of those old men in the gym who are wearing the same white sneakers they bought when Reagan was in office. You know the ones I'm talking about, the ones whose shoes are now cracked and weather checked just like the tires on grandpa’s station wagon. On the other hand, I don't feel the need for my footwear to look as if it was inspired by the latest Kanye West video with excessive splashes of day-glo colors. I need functionality without looking like a peacock, thank you very much. And these work well for that.

One of the Better sneakers I have used!! For some strange anatomical reason, my left toe seems to want to protrude through the cap of any shoe that I wear. Sometimes the cap expands on its own and accommodates the truant toe, and others haven’t, causing me endless pain and to discard fairly new shoes. On this occasion, the salesperson suggested that I order a half size bigger shoe. It worked! Thank you Zappos.

Sport shoe - Exactly what I wanted for a Christmas gift. The style was exactly what I wanted and the fit was right.

I hope they never stop making these shoes. I purchased the NB M574 at a store. The EE width, 9.5 were perfect. While shopping one day, I found another pair on the sale rack but they were D width, 10. I bought them anyway and BLEH. A friend told me of Zappos and I decided to buy 2 more pairs in EE width, 9.5, different colors. I have found the only fashion sneaker I will wear... EVER. Did I say EVER? Yup, EVER. I have three pairs and plan on buying a couple more; much to the chagrin of my partner. I recommend them highly BUT make sure you have the correct size.

Love these shoes - This was my first Zappos order and it was a good one. These shoes are very comfortable. I wanted a different style and Zappos was out of stock but I’m very happy with the style I did select. Would recommend these shoes for sure.

Cool Classic Kicks - These shoes are really great, very comfortable and quite stylish; I have only worn them a few times but get compliments all day when they are on.

Good quality walking shoe - This is a good quality walking shoe. A little narrower than it should be, but it breaks in OK, and feels very comfortable to walk in.

Great shoes - This is my second pair of 574s. I love them, they look good they feel comfortable, but they do feel a lot better if you replace the insoles with something a little more rubbery.

NB M574 Review - This is the second pair of these athletic shoes I have owned. The quality and durability are great. The service from Zappos was unbelievable. Ordered one day and received the next. Great service.

Best shoes ever! It's my first pair of New Balance Classic shoes and I don't think I'll ever wear another shoe, great look and very comfortable. Great to wear with shorts and jeans.

5th pair of 574s, still loving them! Bought these shoes for work. I spend 8 hours a day on my feet, and I love these shoes. Some people may have a problem with the relatively flat sole of the shoe, but it fits my foot well.

My favorites! The M574 line of shoes for casual everyday wear and use fit my feet absolutely perfectly and I hope I can continue buying updated versions of the same model as they require no breaking in period, look great, and fit perfectly.

The NB Classic M574 are fantastic. A bit stiff right out of the box but a few hours of wear and they feel great. Strongly recommended.

New Balance does it again - This is the second pair of NB I've ordered from Zappos and I was NOT disappointed. The shoes looked as shown and are VERY comfortable. I will be buying another pair when these wear out.

Great shoes - I used to own the same pair, but loved them so much; I ran them into the ground. I have used Zappos on a number of occasions and have been happy with the service. Since I knew exactly what I wanted and didn't have to try on for size, I felt comfortable ordering online and was very happy with my purchase.

Cool Shoe! Like all previous NB shoes they rock!

On about my 10th pair of 574's; still satisfied! As stated above I'm on about my 10th pair of 574's but I'm not really counting. There's a reason why 574's are among the New Balance "Classics". I've had a lifetime of problems with my strange feet... the left is a full size larger than the right; they're flat and I have chronic hammer toes and ingrown toenails yet the 574's seem to accommodate these imperfections. I'm sure they would accommodate orthotics as well but I've never tried mine... don't seem to need them is these shoes although were I to try I'd most likely order a size or 1/2 size larger; common sense dictates this. As far as the look... well' what do you really expect a shoe that fits this well to look like? To me they look fine... almost sort of the look of a "generic" casual, athletic shoe. My only complaint is that they don't maintain a color scheme for very long. Being an older guy (56) I'm a traditionalist would just as soon order a plain looking shoe with just a dash of color for accent. New Balance is consistently trying to update this shoe by offering increasingly outrageous color schemes but I suppose they're just trying to keep the shoe marketable to younger customers.

Great Retro Runner - I was looking at all brands of retro-style "fashion" running shoes and I always came back to the M574. It really is the ultimate in old school running shoe style. Super comfortable shoe as well. Goes great with shorts and jeans. They may not have all the tech of newer shoes but they still seem to work great for physical activity. Overall very pleased with this shoe. I got my shoes within 2 days after ordering with zero hassle. One of the best online retailers I've used. So much better than going from store to store to find they don't have your size or color, etc. Great easy-to-navigate website with pics of all shoes from all angles. I will be using Zappos for the majority, if not all, of my future shoe purchases.

Great fit and comfort Made in USA - I love New Balance, and the classic NB style is my favorite sneaker. I got the dark red / white colors, and some of the red had rubbed onto the white shoelaces. I guess that's to be expected with a vibrant color like red. Overall it doesn't affect the look of the shoes, which is kick @$$.

Favorite sneakers - No matter how may other shoes I try, I always come back to New Balance. I get these in wide and they fit great. I wish there was more arch support though. Oh, and I wish I didn't wear the same shoes as my gf's mom. The style is a little old lady-like

New Balance Classics - In a nutshell Zappos is the best place to order shoes. No one ships/returns as fast. You can view the shoe from so many different angles; making it easy to purchase. Also reading customer testimonials and having surveys gives the customer an idea of what they are purchasing. I tell everyone to purchase from Zappos.
