1 or 2 flaws - Comfort is way up there. Need no time to break in. One flaw is this orange plastic thing on the heel. It lies under the cushion. If the cushion slips a little, the plastic hurts. Don’t know if it will soften in the future, I hope it does. Lastly, hate the laces, feel like I’m going to break them. Other than that, love the shoe.

Excellent boots - I have a very wide foot and high instep. This makes finding comfortable boots a bit of a chore. There are some brands that I cannot even get my foot into. I have found these boots to be comfortable. Time will tell about their longevity. I am a remodeling carpenter and am in changing conditions constantly. So far so good. Charley

Good work boot - I've had for three weeks now and am happy with them. Only was able to wear them for a few days before having to take them out to the work site but I've had no problems. Didn't need a break in period. I would buy them again.

A favorite holiday gift - This boot is not only practical and well made, but it is considered "in" footwear at the local high school so it was happily received by our teenaged son at the holidays. He also has very wide feet and the boot is very comfortable on his foot.

I have had 3 pairs of these over the last 5 years. After small break in period, they are real comfortable all day long. If you do any work on your knees, you will saw through the leather near the steel toe real quick. (not a flaw, just common with steel toe). I just ordered the Timberland Pro Steel Trax 6" and it is way more comfortable from day one. No break in needed, with springy soles and abrasion resistant leather in all the right places. Pit Boss is great....Steel Trax is excellent.

Not bad - Nice boots and comfy. Down side I work outside in Florida and found that my feet perspired more in these than any other boot I wear.

Mostly happy - The only problem I have found w/ this shoe has been that within the first week of wearing it the insole has already fallen apart & I need to put in a new one. Aside from that, everything else is good.

Good boot, order 1 size too small - Boots are very durable (I work in residential construction). Look great. They are a little bigger than I thought, and took about a week to break in. Good purchase.

Great quality, durable boots at decent price. I have two pairs. I'm a tough critic (hence, the four stars) and these babies are really holding up well, in the office in the field. They take a little time to break in but they give great support on uneven terrain and they keep you dry. I will continue to buy these work boots.

Good quality shoes right out of the box. My only dislike is the innersole. It does not give much cushion comfort. This I had to correct with a quality pair of innersoles from my local retail store. This is my fourth pair of PRO boots, only the last two had the innersole problem. I would buy these boots again if this problem were corrected.

Boot Review - Fit and comfort better than expected for new boots. Not waterproof.

Overall I would rate the boot pretty good. I suspect that they will get better as they are worn in. I have only worn them for 3-4 weeks now. There are a couple of things that I have noticed. First at the back of the boot next to the heel. It seems to protrude a bit and feels a little hard. I believe that this will soften up a bit as the boot is worn in. Lately I haven't noticed it as much. The other thing is that there isn't much cushion for the soles. I always add extra cushioning anyway. However, these seemed a bit lacking of cushion on the front half of the sole. It stings a bit if you have to jump off of something. Other than that bit on the soles, the soles conforms to the foot really well. Initially these boots feel more comfortable than other boots I have tried for work type boots. The construction is pretty good from what I can tell as new as they are. The first thing I noticed is that the quick lace-up hooks are really sturdy. They are not thin like I have had on other boots that were prone to bending. I don't think these will bend. They are pretty solid.

A very light functional work boot - I work for as an environmental scientist at a electrical utility company in AZ and so far this boot is serving me well. I am out in the hot AZ sun most of the day and my feet do not sweat and are fairly comfortable. The liner inside has become very thin (I stand on my feet a lot) and so the shoe has lost some of it's comfort. Also, the stitching in the heal protrudes out a little too far and at times irritates my heel. All in all, I am pleased with the boot. I would definitely recommend this boot, these boots are a great value.

6" Pit Boss Soft Toe - Very comfy! I work on a concrete floor for 10-12 hours per day. I've been doing this for 10 years and have ttried every type of shoe imaginable. You name it - I've worn it! (Doc Martens, combat boots, classic work boots, sneakers with air, gel and other junk, and lightweight hiking boots) Nothing has been as comfortable as these boots. I used to feel pain in my heel (plantar fasciitis) but now I have nothing but comfort. I can be on my feet for 10 hours and my feet, legs and back feel great! Plus, the boots look sharp with jeans or khakis. The dark brown color hides the dirt too. The Zappos price was amazing! Much better than local stores and I saved the tax! Plus, Zappos upgraded my shipping level and I had them in less than 12 hours!! Amazing. I will definitely be back for more shoes for the family.

Great all around boot for everyday wear - I've been wearing the Pit Boss for a long time and find it the most comfortable shoe to wear for bad back/hip/double jointed ankles. My only complaint is that the ankel support wears out before the rest of the boot, but I still get a good three months out of a pair, which is better than I do only any other type or brand of shoe or boot. It's really a shame about the ankle support not lasting longer because the rest of the boot is good for at least six months of daily wear. Other than that, the boots are a tad heavy, weighing in at four pounds the pair, but if you have strong thighs or want to strengthen your thighs it's a plus. I purchased these for work, as the name implies. A quarter of my work day is sitting and the rest is me moving/walking around. These boots are rugged and all but they don’t seem to be for those who walk around a lot. First, they’re a bit heavy. Second, the toe box isn’t that flexible on first use, so much so that after a while, the material was rubbing on the top of my foot and it was pretty painful. It would probably become softer after some wear but I ended up returning them. Love the style though.

I think I got a lemon. The arch support felt like it was located too far back but only on the right boot, causing a pressure point while walking or standing. I really wanted to like these boots but after walking around the house for a couple hours I determined that the pain in my arch was not going to get any better so I returned them.

This boot is comfortable right out of the box, though it feels a bit loose on the foot. It looks like it's well made at first but after a couple of weeks of wear I feel differently about that. The first pair I wore felt great but after two weeks of wear the lining started to peel out of the boot. There was also a defect in the toe of the boot that left a sharp feeling protrusion inside each boot, but I had to try to feel that so it wasn't too bothersome. I just received a replacement pair. These also feel fine but I've noticed two things. 1) one boot is much darker than the other but I think that will even out with some brushing to the oiled surface. 2) The seams in the lining feel just as shoddy as the last pair. I don't see the seems staying glued any better on this pair (yes glued, there is no stitching to hold it). They are better than the Wolverines I had as far as comfort, but I don't feel the quality is really all that great. I don't think there is much made anymore with any level of quality control unless you are willing to put the money in brands like Danner, which for work I am not. Thankfully Zappos has been great to deal with on these issues. This is the first time I'd had to use their return service and it works very smoothly.

Timberland Pro's - They are a decent pair of boots for work. For me, they did not have the support I need in the ankle. Also I found that I did not like the way the lacing is set up. I would have done better if you could pull them tighter a little lower in the boot, instead of at the first (eyelet). Still I would recommend trying them, as they are a reasonable price.

Timberland PRO 6" Pit Boss Soft Toe! Upon receiving the "Timberland PRO 6" Pit Boss Soft Toe" they felt pretty good but as the days passed the left boot started to hurt my left foot arch so I am now returning them..

Toes too narrow and pointed for my feet and “king toes”. I will keep searching

They look good, but there is something with the internal construction that really bothers my ankle. I've only worn them a handful of times. If you like Tim's, then stick with the originals!

These boots are not worth buying. One boot fits well the other boot is so uncomfortable I cannot even wear these. I lasted a week in them. I had to stuff rags in the one boot to stop the rubbing. I have bought many boots over the years, never had any this uncomfortable!

My foot flops all around in these boots. No padding what so ever in the boots.
