I'm on my feet 8 hours a day, working in a hazardous environment, Dr. Martens are by far the most durable and comfortable steel toes I've tried, not to mention their cool looks and quality construction. I also have a pair of the DM steel toe Grizzly's, which seem to size a bit more appropriately. Because I wear two pairs of thick socks with my work boots, I buy them a size larger than my normal shoes, but I had to buy these a full size larger than even my other DM's to achieve the same fit. A good set of insoles would be a welcome accessory for any of Doc's boots, as the standard ones are a little on the hard side. I've beat the living Hell out of one pair for 6 months straight, and despite some deep cuts in the leather, they are showing no signs of wear significant enough to compromise the protective integrity of the shoes.

Great “shoe”. I purchased a pair of these things just over a year ago. My very first pair of Docs. My mother had always told me that Docs outlast anything else she has owned, so I finally took her up on it. That was a major selling point for me as I tend to completely destroy whatever is on my feet. I don’t know how or why. Anyhow, these things hurt my feet like crazy for about a week. Now they're the most comfortable thing I own. They have held up quite well for me. They don’t look very pretty anymore and I have some wear on the soles, but still my first choice when going anywhere. They are a heavy shoe, yes, but just wear them for a few days and you forget all about it. I’ll gladly wear these walking around Detroit over my Adidas. I now own 3 pairs of Docs and am back on Zappos to order another pair.

Strong, sturdy… and maybe a little cute - Probably the most solid pair of shoes I own, these feel indestructible and are holding up well. They look good and are comfortable to be standing in. My only surprise was how heavy these are for such a small shoe. If you are going to be doing a lot of walking or any running, this is not the shoe for you.

Quite heavy, but comfort makes up for it.

Great shoe - At first I was worried about buying shoes online. I am very picky when it comes to my shoes, but I went with a great brand. And everything was fine. I would definitely buy these shoes again. They work great for work and weren't really all that expensive. Good buy, definitely!!!

Good shoe but runs large - I own three pair of Docs and did not think twice about purchasing this shoe for my steel-toe choice. Unfortunately, this shoe is too wide in the heel for my narrow feet. If you have narrow feet, opt for a different style.

Look and Purpose all in one - Being a woman working at a factory, it is not easy to find decent looking shoes. I have a job on my feet all day and need shoes that won't make my feet hurt by lunchtime. This shoe leaves me with no pain at the end of the day and they make me look good too.

7A12 Series is Awesome - These shoes are awesome. I've always been a fan of Dr. Martens but these are the most versatile shoes. You can wear them with anything and have that extra touch of class. Buy These!!!

Better than most Dr. Martens... My employer recently made steel toe shoes mandatory, and I was left the horrible decision to either quit my job or else to buy the ugliest, most uncomfortable pair of shoes ever. I have a lot of problems with my feet; I need shoes with good arch support, a roomy toe box, and I prefer clogs over anything. I chose this pair of Dr. Martens based on previous experience with the company and the user reviews on Zappos... and the fact that they were the best looking pair of steel toes I could find. I was pleasantly surprised; unlike most Dr. Martens, these shoes require NO break-in time, and were comfortable throughout most of the day. I was a little alarmed at how heavy these shoes were, as all my other shoes weigh just mere OUNCES, but I didn't have a problem. My only qualm is how much bigger these shoes are than marked. I wear a solid 11 in Women's, and ordered a UK 8/US 10, and they are STILL a little over a half size two large. With gel inserts and a thick pair of socks, however, it is tolerable.

Another Awesome Dr. Martens Boot!!! Totally awesome, especially for a steel toed boot, And Dr. Martens always seem to last forever, in the toughest environments. I have now owned 3 pairs of different Dr. Martens and I have been extremely pleased with every pair. The quality and durability is #1. Comfort is always there also for those long days.

Amazing - These shoes are amazing!!! They are my first pair of steel-toed shoes and I love them! I found that they are heavy in the toe area, obviously...but after a week or so I got use to that! Usually I wear a size 10 1/2 - 11 but I bought a size 10 and I'm glad that I did. They fit fabulously!!! I stand on my feet all day long...and haven't had any problems with aching feet at all!!! I paid the extra money to have them sent to me next day so that I could have a few days to get use to them before the new job started! I ordered them on a Thursday morning and received them on Friday morning!!! I loved the service and quality I received from Zappos!!!! I'm really looking forward to buying my next pair!!!!!

Good overall work shoe - A good shoe for women who work in an OSHA regulated environment who need durability and comfort in a shoe and for anyone who stands a lot on their job as I do. I am in a construction environment and I wear this shoe for eight hours a day. These shoes do not need to be (broken in), the comfort is there from the moment the shoe is worn.

Great work shoe - These shoes were comfortable right out of the box. My job requires me to walk on many oily surfaces and these shoes are the best slip resistant shoe I've ever worn at my job.

Worth It - I needed to buy some shoes for work these are amazing. They are comfortable and that's the best feature of it. I would tell anybody to buy them; they're very much worth the price.

Work shoe - This has to be one of the most attractive work shoes that I've owned. I have to wear steel toes in my workplace and I've gotten these and the Dr. Marten boot in this same style. They are both comfortable and fashionable. I recommend to all that want a change in your normal safety shoe!

Great Shoes - This was the first time that I had to buy steel toe shoes. For the first time in purchasing steel toe shoes I feel I made a great discussion. I would never go back and I will continue to buy steel toe shoes made by Dr. Martens. Every shoe I own I buy from Zappos because the customer service is fantastic. Great work shoe - This shoe is kinda heavy like other reviews said (which is why I gave it four stars in comfort), but if you need a safety shoe than this is it. Great look plus comfort, it's the best steel toe I've ever had! I'm usually a 7 to a 7 1/2 and I went with a 7 on this and it fits perfect, not tight at all even with thick socks.

Lives up to the hype - This is one serious work shoe that seems to have taken most work environments into consideration. The one drawback is that they are not offered in half sizes - however inserting one of those after-market insoles seems to bring it within tolerances. Very comfortable, very stylish, and very capable of making short work of a long day.

Super comfy - These are very comfortable for when I have to do work plants and be on my feet all day. Comfy for lots of walking and stooping down.

Not your everyday Martens! These shoes rock... not to be cliché but, they really do. In the true Dr. Martens style they have all the true craftsmanship and comfort you would expect with the durability and, ruggedness you'd expect in the best of work shoes. These can't be beat but - like that's surprising... they are Dr. Martens after all...
