First ordered my size (8.5) in wide. Way too small! But Zappos made the switch to a whole size larger very easy. Very comfortable! Slightly orthopedic looking, but only if you look hard. Wore them on a trip to NYC with lots of walking, and was very glad to have them. Kudos!

After 3 years of off-and-on wear, the center soles of my black Propet Mary Jane Walkers started to shred, as if I'd stepped in a large patch of glue that was tearing off the rubber. Happened first on one shoe, then both. The uppers still look good and the shoes are still comfortable, but since they look tacky I can now only use them for gardening, etc. Before they were damaged they were my main travel shoe, great for walking around foreign cities.

These shoes were just as advertised. They fit correctly with plenty of room in the toe. There wasn't much arch support which I need and there isn't very much cushioning, but it did allow room for my orthotic and that solved the problem. It is nice to find a nice looking shoe which allows for an insert.

Versatile and comfortable shoe - I needed a shoe that could go to work and wouldn't kill my feet and this shoe filled that niche in my closet. People comment on its good looks, but with my arch support inside and heel pads, it fits very well. It would be perfect if the heel was a little narrower.

Did the job - Zappos' service can't be beat. My shoes arrived well ahead of schedule. I ordered three different styles of shoes, hoping my very picky feet would be able to tolerate at least one pair. These MJs were the keepers. Returning the other two pair to Zappos was super simple. I had hoped my custom orthotics would fit, but they raised my heel up too high (and yes, I did remove the original insole). I also found that because of the semi-pointed toe (yeah, I know, nothing compared to high fashion), the shoes ran a bit short. I had to buy some nasty smelling chemical and stretch that area. The good news is the stretching worked and the shoes were quite comfortable. These were supposed to be my back up pair for a trip to Italy; my primary shoes were Aravon sandals, but I ended up wearing these Propets almost all the time. They had better traction and protected my feet better on uneven cobblestone streets. And they cost $40 less than the Aravons! Since I couldn't use my custom insoles, I ended up buying some small arch supports and slipping them under the provided insoles. That seemed enough to make my uber-high arches reasonably happy. I found the straps to be plenty long, even though I have high insteps.

Nice... The fit of the shoe is a little big to me, but I usually end up buying men's tennies. I have a very high foot and the strap could definitely have been longer so that it would be easier to secure it comfortably...

Good shoe and cute, too. This shoe is very comfortable and supportive. It looks cuter in your hands than it does in the picture on-line.

Stylish and sturdy - Just ordered a 2nd pair of these shoes. Unfortunately in my size, 10 4E, they are only available in black. Would order in all the other colors if I could. Comfy at first wearing, good support but stylish enough that they don't look like orthopedic shoes. Granted, it's a thick sole but with slacks, who notices? And compared to Doc Martens, it's nothing. My uver-stylish 9B shoe-hound friend adores these shoes so I'll go with her opinion. A great wear with anything shoe.

Great if you're on your feet all day - I purchased these in black leather and navy nubuck. These shoes work well with skirts and dresses. Because I've had several surgeries on both feet, I need something that I can wear for my seven-hour shifts where I'm on my feet most of the time. My only complaint is that the navy nubuck fabric looked slightly worn in the toe area even before I wore them. I usually avoid nubuck for this reason; it doesn't seem to hold up as well as leather. In addition, I wish shoe manufacturers would return to buckles on straps instead of velcro, which tends to snag hosiery. My ankles are very narrow and I need to pull the straps all the way over to tighten them adequately.

Nearly perfect - It took a couple of wearings to get the shoe to be really comfortable. There are seams at the back of the shoe on the ankle area and I had to put on band-aids to not have "new shoe blisters". The overall fit is great. They have a removable insert and I did need to remove it as the arch support was too big for my flat feet. I replaced them with sponge inserts available at any drug or discount store. Now I wear them regularly and it is wonderful to be able to have dressy shoes that fit well.

LOVE these shoes - I love these shoes so much; I've got a pair in black and a pair in suede. I wear a pair of these probably five days out of the week. They fit my "romantic" style but are extremely comfortable and safe here - where I cover a lot of cobblestoned streets. ALSO I can chase after my three preschoolers in them without hurting myself or losing my shoes. My black pair is older (2 years) and has lost the great feeling of support they had at first. Hence the six month guarantee. I like these enough I'm going to buy my third pair. Wish they came in red.

Very stable, supportive shoe - I am using these as a work shoe and found they are very stable, but tend to 'hold me back' a bit when walking rapidly. Gel inserts in the heel (I have a touch of plantar fasciitis) raised my heel enough to overcome this to a large extent. I purchased these shoes as they come in WWWW.

Comfort and Quirky Style! I just got these today & I'm in love! I was concerned from other reviews saying they were clunky Grandma shoes: I choose to think of them as *vintage!* I can't wait to wear them with bobby socks! I'm an obese optician. It has been HELL finding comfortable dress shoes. These are totally work appropriate and they don't hurt. I have a terribly high instep and ankle straps *never* fit me, but this one did! Also, I normally wear a 9.5 to 11.5 in other shoes. The 10 feels a little big for me, and glad I ordered EE instead of EEEE! Can't wait to wear these to work! Big toe box is super comfy!

A narrower heel would be nice - This shoe is quite comfortable, although a bit too wide in the heel. That, however, is typical of shoes these days when it is difficult to find a product with different widths in the vamp and in the heel. It's not high fashion, but has a nice neat look. I'm quite happy overall with the purchase and even more happy with Zappos service and delivery time.

Better as time went on - I wore this to work, and one foot was tighter than the other (my foot is). As the day wore on, though the shoe became more molded to my foot and felt more comfortable.

Chunky, but light weight. I had heard this was a good brand for comfortable walking shoes that weren't sneakers. They are that. I walk a lot to and from work and I don't want to wear heels. After a week I have gained small blisters on the bottoms of my small toes. The toe-box of these shoes is big, not just wide, but up and down bog, leaving too much room for my toes to slip and move around. The tall toe-box also makes them look a little chunky. However, they are lightweight and offer lots of cushioning and support. If you frequently find shoes to be too small in the toe, you might want to try these.

Finally, a comfy Mary Jane for work - This is a comfortable shoe appropriate for the workplace. I do wish there was a longer velcro strap, and the soles were higher quality (they seem to crack after about 5 months of daily use). Other than that a great, if not a little boring, shoe!

Propet's Mary Jane Walker size 7.5 EEEE - Service great, shoe looks good, a bit big in the heel. I had bought another, similar style different brand about a year ago thinking I needed as wide as they come. They were 7.5 EEE. They actually are too wide.

Comfortable, but not very fashionable! I wanted a cute Mary Jane. These looked great in pictures, but in reality they are more like grandma's shoes. Why did I keep them? They are super comfortable and with jeans they actually look pretty cute! I have the black ones. They are definitely well made.

Comfortable and Looks Good Too! Since wearing orthotics 4 years ago, I've only owned sneakers. When I needed a dress shoe for a special event, I found this shoe. I've worn them twice and they have been very comfortable and gave me the support I needed. Unfortunately, I could not wear my orthotics inside these shoes. My feet slid forward in the shoes hurting my toes. But, the arch support was just enough so I could wear the shoes for several hours each time.

Good everyday shoe - I purchased both the brown and the black Mary Jane Walker and I was thrilled to find them on Zappos. I really like this shoe. I have had two surgeries and I have not been able to wear a decent looking shoe in nearly two years. This shoe works with a pair of jeans as well as with a pant business suit. The shoe is comfortable; however, I do have high arches, therefore, by the end of the day the top of my foot is puffy and has a definite indention from the strap. Overall, I am very pleased with this shoe. I wish it came in a chocolate brown color and red color.

Comfy - These shoes are very comfortable. I work in patient care and walk all day. I was very happy to find these shoes. Wish they had bit more heel but they are great for those looking for comfort, style and aprrox. 1/2 inch heel.

Comfortable Shoe - I needed an extra wide shoe to allow room for the orthotic I have to wear. This shoe has plenty of room. The velcro strap works fine. They're not very pretty, but they're better than tennis shoes. Very comfortable.

Ah there's the rub - This shoe is easy to put on and provides support. My left foot fits fine but there is a little rubbing around my right toe. I think this will go away in time. They look ok and hold up surprisingly well in the rain.

This is a comfy dressy casual brown shoe. I did not have brown shoes until I bought this mary jane and boy can she walk. This shoe is very comfy, and you can wear it to work with a suit or even a little skirt. It is perfect for all occasions. The shoes is a bit longer than it says, but it was still a good fit.
