A very good looking shoe, however it runs a little tight, I sent them back for a wider size, lets see how they fit.

These are my second pair of Rockports and my last. Both pairs are comfortable and stylish, but both raise a painful blister on my left heel, unless I remember to stick on some mole skin before wearing them. They are the only shoes I own (or have ever owned) that does this. Curious, but too much trouble to deal with.

As a flight attendant I'm a bit let down by these shoes. First, if I'm paying $100 for shoes, Rockport shouldn't cheap out on laces. These slippery laces would not stay tied. I had to put my old shoe laces in to keep these shoes on my feet. Second, the sole isn't very rigid. This makes it very difficult to apply the brake to the carts we use onboard the aircraft. Finally, the heel feels about 1/8-1/4" to high. This causes my feet to be constantly pushed into the toe.
I have never purchased shoes online before, but Zappos made the process easy. I was concerned about getting a shoe with the proper width. However, after consulting an associate over the phone, I was able to order the correct shoe. Aside from what I have mentioned, the shoes do fit properly.

Very displeased with their sizing. when I ordered this shoes they were supossed to be half a size bigger than my normal order ( for good measure ) but they are still too small for comfort.

I wear dress shoes on a daily basis, so these were used frequently. The insoles on my shoes started deteriorating after the first month and by month two, the insoles had holes in them making the shoes very uncomfortable.

The color is too light to be practical for anything but strictly indoor use. I sent it back.

This was my first Zappos purchase, these shoes and Dockers "Shelter", both in men's size 12, EE or W width as stated equivalents. The Dockers fit perfectly, but the Rockports felt at least a size shorter and narrower, binding my outer toes. I suppose I could have gone to a wider width but longer is not an option due to heel rubbing and blister potential. It is understandable that all manufacturers have some deviation in sizing, but these seemed too far off, beyond just contacting the toes. Still, the Zappos return policy could not have been easier. It is also noteworthy that most brick and mortar shoe stores in my area do not seem to stock shoes wider than medium, so Zappos gives me many more choices.
I'd also recommend:

For people with very wide feet (6E in my case) this is one of the few options available if you want a casual work shoe from Zappos. The shoe is fine. It's leather, so it stretches over time to accommodate your foot. The style is a bit dull, but beggars can't be choosers. The big problem with this shoe is that the heel is hollow, and made from a soft, spongy foam. The heel has six decorative ridges, each about 1/8" thick, from the bottom to the point where it meets the sole. After a few months of wear, you'll notice that the back of the heel has worn through the first ridge. After almost a year, you'll have three ridges worn through, meaning that the back of your heel has worn away by half its height, exposing a disconnected flap of foam covering the hollow center of the heel. When it rains, you'll enjoy the squishing sound of the water squeezing in and out of this hollow area. Basically this means that you'll be buying a new pair of these shoes every year (or more frequently, if you don't like having a the back of your heel worn 1/4 down). Over the years I've owned at least five pairs of these shoes. The construction seems to change from year to year (as if they are being made at different factories). After spending a lot rebuying these shoes, I'm going to start buying well-made shoes from specialty shops, with heels that can be replaced.

I love Rockports. They're almost always attractive, comfortable shoes that last for years. This one's an exception, however...I've tried it on and within 5 minutes of feeling the tongue bite into the top of my foot with each step. It's more excruciating than a shoe should be, even if only worn for short periods of time. I'm having to return it. No other choice.

Not bad, but they don't fit especially well mostly because they run large. I have had quite a bit of problem with them chafing the back of my heels. Also, you can't see it from the pics on Zappos but the shoes have a rather square toe instead of a rounded one.

I'm exasperated with this shoe. I initially ordered this shoe and another pair of Rockports in a size 11.5N. Both were too long, but especially this one. I liked the styling of this pair better so I sent both back and asked for a return on this one in an 11N. But when I got the 11N it was also too long. I suppose I could order a 10.5 but at this point I don't trust Rockport's sizing at all. I could go to a shoe store and try on 10.5's all day and not find one long enough, but their 11 is too long? This makes no sense to me. So if you are ready to roll the dice that the shoe will fit, this looks like a good shoe in all other respects. It's a good thing Zappos is easy to work with on returns.

Bought these to replace some Rockports that seem to have been discontinued. Too bad because I really liked those shoes, and these don't measure up at all. Quality seems to have gone on hiatus.

Make sure you wear thick socks with these shoes or you will get blisters on the back of your ankle.

I have been wearing Rockports for years and have been pleased that they were always comfortable straight from the box. Unfortunately, the Northfield shoe appears to have been discontinued so I had to try another model. This one was nice looking but is smaller, narrower, and stiffer than the Northfield model.

I bought these because the soles are different than previous Rockports which wore through very quickly. The soles on the Margin are more durable, but I have found they squeak a lot on 'shiny' floors (think polished sealed chip or linoleum). It is quite annoying. The heel of the insole essentially disintegrated after only a few months (there is a hole straight through it. I've noticed this on other Rockports, but these insoles were the cheapest, least dense I've seen). I had a stitch come loose around the inside ankle, and the black leather loses its color faster than the browns around the ankles. They are pretty comfortable as most Rockports, but improvements are necessary. I did not even wear these every day and still had the wear problems.

Only had these shoes a year and a half and the insole is already wearing a hole in it. Leather seems to be wearing thin too. Weird for rockports, as they usually last for years and years.

Poor ventilation -
The shoes do not breathe well and create discomfort after wearing making your feet cold and damp. Not sure I will be able to wear them much.

I have been wearing Rockport shoes for years but have trouble finding any in my size from local stores, so I was excited when I found Zappos and had a chance to try additional styles and brands. Unfortunately this Rockport model is not very well made. I have been wearing it for about 2 months now and the shoe squeaks (especially the right foot). This is not the sole of the shoe on the ground, but something inside the sole when the shoe flexes. Also, this shoe feels like it is for someone who pronates. I am a supinator the shoe makes the condition worse. I also purchased a pair of Red Wings at the same time and they are a much better show overall. More neutral support and better overall fell/look.

One right, one wrong -
I have the brown Margins. The shoes are comfortable to walk in as far as cushion, but the leather looks cheap and my right shoe seems to be a size wider than the left and no, it's not my feet. Another pair of Rockport narrow that I also purchase fit perfect. The first time I have ever bought shoes to actually fit my long narrow feet.

Squeaks after a year.
After wearing these shoes 3 days a week in a sitting job for 18 months, the shoes developed an embarrassing squeak. The sound was like rubber rubbing rubber. I replace insoles, but that did not help. It was internal to the actual sole of the shoe. I cannot wear them any more because everyone turns and looks at me when I walk.

Trying Rockport again -
I tried the Margin since my previous Rockport was not listed. I should have tried another model since this one is not to my liking. I am using two pair of padded insoles to take up the excess room inside. They are not comfortable like my previous Rockports and are mostly made of rubber. I thought I was getting the foam-type sole like I'm used to but I got a thin slab of rubberized material. Certainly not cushioned like I'd hoped they would be. Barely any internal foot support - my feet are sore when I take these off - I need to get something else.

No arch support -
I bought these because 62% rated they had excellent arch support. I have very high arches so this is essential for me. When I tried them on it felt as if they had absolutely ZERO arch support. It felt like I was standing on a board.
Maybe I got a bad pair?

Hard on the Feet -
I generally wear Rockports. I have wide, flat feet and have been recommended to wear them. Rockports in the past, have been very comfortable. This is the first time with this particular style. It is a nice looking shoe and I was originally impressed with its light weight. I am a school teacher, and on my feet up to eight hours a day. These shoes were hard on the souls of my feet. Further, I found myself to be unusually physically tired at the end of the day. Feet and legs very fatiqued. I would not purchase this model again.
