Light - Extremely comfortable, very light shoes. They fit the 1st time- no breaking in. You don't feel the weight which enhances the feeling of being in control of your feet. They are arched a little funny- too much?- for my feet on the inside. This is my second pair and they go well with jeans or dress pants. I own other Mephisto products. They are all heads and shoulders above all brands at any price. I wish there were more colors and textures to choose from. Well nigh the ideal all purpose shoes. Now Mephisto needs to make cowboy boots with the same intelligence.

Great arche support - This is my second pair of this shoe. The only shoe I have found that keeps my feet from hurting.

Comfortable walking shoe - I have been wearing this particular shoe for about ten years now. Before these, I wore the Rockport Pro Walker. These are a much better shoe, but twice the price.

Fabulous shoe - For about 15 years I have been wearing Mephisto shoes exclusively. The Mephisto Match is a terrific casual shoe and the Zappos service is terrific to "match". Dave

Made in France - I have had these shoes for 6 years and they are starting to show some wear. They are most comfortable but the newer versions are made in Portugal! I have tried them at the store but they have a different fit and feel. I wish the manufacturers would have preserved the integrity of the Mephisto line by keeping the manufacture at home in France. My wife and I have 10-12 pairs from France and they are the best shoes we have ever owned. They last and last. I'm not sure about the ones from Portugal. Someday I might need to buy them, but they are different.

I've finally found a great lace up walking shoe for my trip to Europe. I'm a woman with a slightly wide foot. The Mephisto Rush (the women's version of this shoe) runs narrow, so decided to try these. Wonderfully comfortable with good support, cushioning and a great outsole for taking on cobblestones.

This shoe defines comfort. If I'm going into the city, mall or any place that causes me to be on my feet...especially on concrete these are the shoes I wear. I've had these for several years and they look and feel just like they were purchased. You can't go wrong with this shoe, it may be a high dollar item but they're high quality.This is one pair of shoes that will give you your money's worth.

These are the only shoes I have been able to wear for walking for many years now; I keep two pair and rotate them to extend the lifespan. They accept my custom orthotics and provide exceptional support. I walk everyday about 45min to an hour, paint in a standing position (I am an artist) and have a standing computer workstation. This is the right shoe for me, despite a relatively high cost.

These shoes are great! My second pair in ten years. Comfortable, true to size and surprisingly durable. Not much to look at, but a perfect shoe for everyday wear.

I have been wearing only Mephisto shoes for 15 years and have had each pair reworked at the Mephisto factory twice. They have saved my back. They are well worth the price.

Love these shoes! I've had 5 pairs of the Mephisto Match. 5 different colors over the past 15 years. These are as comfortable as any shoe I have ever worn. My Ferragamos are uncomfortable compared to the Match. These are shoes that you don't need to take off when you get home.

Nobody does it better; makes me feel sad for the rest- I have worn Mephisto’s for over five years and "nobody does it better"! Price seems high, but you get three times more wear and comfort. They are made to wear on the big side, so don't have your toes pressed up front. OK, I used to sell shoes and Mephisto was my favorite.

The real thing for the hotfooted - OK so the only problem with these babies is having to lace them up yourself when you get them home! When you put Matches on that's it! I have just worn them for an entire 13 hour day, mostly standing or walking and they just massage the bottom of your feet as you walk (if you like that). This is my 4th or 5th pair of the same model (I try to use the black & brown on alternate days) but other colors are available. One additional note my family inheritance included WIDE FEET and if these were wider out of the box you would not get the prolonged and fantastic comfortable fit for years if used properly, so that's Match. Even for wide loads. Get it? Got it? Good.

Mephisto Match - Great shoe, but now that I've worn out the soles, I find that they cannot be replaced. It's a shame to have to retire this great shoe before its time.

Mephisto flies - A typical Mephisto offering superior support and comfort in a reasonably attractive shoe.

Not a shoe buff, but really wanted to do my research and find something worth plunking down a little extra on. Worth the money invested, only problem is now I never wear the shoes I bought before. But hey- this saves tons of money. One minor issue, some of the stitching is coming out below the laces holding the tongue down. However, I don’t think it will be a big deal, its holding nice. First impressions are the amazing arch support, (never felt anything like that before - it's not soft and givey, it's actually very firm) also, it's so nice to have a sneaker that has leather heels like this; it's terribly comfortable and wear-resistant.

Best Shoe for comfort - I had problems with tendonitis at the base of my heel & arch for 6 months with no relief. I started wearing the Match on Saturday and by Wednesday I had relief that I had not felt in months. It's not 100% cured but I feel within weeks it will be normal again.

The toe space in this shoe is too narrow for me. The footbed is not near as comfortable as their sandals are (I have 3 pairs of those).

Very Comfy!! These Mephisto's are the most comfortable shoe ever! Well worth every penny spent!

The best - Just bought new pair, after resoling one that I bought in 1994 -- finally the stitching is coming undone. That makes the shoe a bargain dollar-wise.

Mephisto - Mephisto has the best men tennis shoes and ladies sandals. My only complaint is that some ladies' styles need to come in narrow widths.

Mephisto's Match black - They've become my favorite casual walking around shoes. If you like comfortable shoes; you will love these.

The basic walking shoe - This is my third pair of Mehpisto Match shoes. I have sensitive feet and I love to walk--these shoes are the most comfortable walking shoe made. I have walked all day in these shoes over city pavement and my feet are so thankful for the great structure of the mid and inner sole of this Mephisto shoe. They look great as an alternative to more athletic styled shoes. They only other walker that comes close to this in comfort is the Brooks Addiction, but these have more refined look.

The best walking shoe in the world! If you are a woman...with wide feet, try the men's sizes. I've been wearing Mephistos for the past 5 years. It started when I began walking and my feet were killing me; I have the flatest feet in the world. These shoes were heaven; I used the women's version for years (Mephisto Rush). As I put my feet through more strenous challenges, foot problem arose and I needed a wider shoe. I tried New Balance, Rockport and others, but nothing supports like the Mephisto. I bought the equivalent men's size and I'm in heaven again. I use them for my strength training workouts where I use very heavy weights, and the feet need room to move, but still need support. Other shoes just breakdown and soon are useless. These keep on supporting. The only downside of this shoe depends on the color you buy. When the insole is green, it rubs off on your socks. The white insoles don't do that(white shoes have white insoles). I highly recommend trying the shoes on for the right size in a store, then order them from Zappos for hassle free shopping. These shoes can be resoled for a nominal charge; I've done it with the suede finishes and they come back like new. No one paid me to say this; it's just my opinion! If you can afford them, you owe it to feet to have them :)

I now have three pairs of Mephistos. They're the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I walk at least two miles a day, on purpose.
