Love them! The leather was a little tight around the big toe when I initially wore them. But after wearing them for a few days, the leather began molding to my foot. Now they’re fine. I absolutely love the arch support and the style. It’s A great shoe. I bought the Helen Desert Buffalo.

This is my second pair. For a casual, comfort shoe, it’s stylish enough to wear everyday. My last pair I wore for 5 years!

I love this shoe; I have just bought it in a third color! It is extremely comfortable and well made. I have had the first pair for several years now and the second pair for a couple of years; and they are still as good as new. I have to wear a shoe that is stable with a good arch, and this is that! I always buy the leather version, so I can't comment on the man-made material. I did try a Birkenstock since it was a little less expensive, but it was flatter in the heel height, and the strap was too high on my foot to be comfortable. I definitely recommend the Mephisto.

Great fit, quite true to size. I wear a 9 1/2 and the 10 was a perfect fit.

very comfortable footbed, Attractive sandal. A bit too low for my needs, but overall a nice choice which is unfortunate I had to return them. Thank you Zappos, as always, for your great service...fast, and convenient.

The most comfortable shoe right out of the box. I have tried many shoes for my problem feet and by far these are the best. Well worth the money

I sent back the other Helen as the leather was too stiff. I ordered the black "nuebuck" and I love them. They were immediately comfortable and the footbed in grey won't show as much dirt. Love, love, them

I love Mephistos. I have had four pair of the Helens. I don't usually pay this much for sandals, but these are worth every penny.

Perfect fit! Second pair in a different color. Wore them on a week trip to historical sights and me feet never hurt!! Best shoe ever!!

These sandals are the most comfortable sandals I have found! They stay on my feet when I walk and they don't feel like boats like Birkenstocks!

I purchased three of the same, as I need the sandal with the loop toe. They are beautiful. They are, however, definitely narrow. I have a very narrow foot, AA to AAA and my foot rides the ridge--I know it will form callouses. I would have kept at least 2, and am sad, but will need to continue my search. I am a diehard Birkenstock gal, and the love the Papillo Tabora--but I think these are now an "old model." I also need the soft footbed, and there aren't many Birks with that feature. Mephistopheles Helen’s are my go-to warm weather sandal! I can be on my feet all day with out discomfort. Love them! Worth the money. They take a day or two mould to your feet.

These are my second pair of these sandals. My first ones lasted me over 5 yrs of hard walking. Love them!!

I needed a sandal that was comfortable and that I could still wear to work. They look great with jeans or with something less casual. The fit was great. I wear a 9 or 9 1/2, depending upon the brand. The width was good for my slightly wide feet--no slopping over the sides. The arch was good for my pronating feet. Overall, I'm very happy, and the price was $45. less than my local store! One thing I should mention: the photo on Zappo's doesn't do them justice; the photo is too dark and doesn't accurately reflect the nice silvery grey color. I knew they were lighter because I had seen them in a store window.

Getting ready for warmer weather. Mephisto Helens are about all I wear in warm weather. Thrilled to have the black patents. Also ordered animal print as my old pair (bought 3 or so years ago) were ready to retire to the house. BTW, I usually wear a 7.5 but always order a 38 & they fit fine.

Mephisto Helen is my favorite sandal. I started wearing them about 20 years ago and have never looked back.

I sometimes waver between a 9 and 9 1/2. Based on the reviews, I decided to go with the 9 1/2 (40) and it was perfect. I got the Grey Etna and they were stunning in person. The image does not do them justice. The leather has a slight metallic look that makes them more distinctive than plain sandals IMHO. I can imagine getting more of these.

I have had several pairs of these Mephisto Helens over the years, and still love the look and style of the shoe. My only complaint would be that the first time I purchased them, they had a little more arch support, which I miss. With the greater arch support, they seemed to stay on your foot more securely without slipping around. I have narrower feet and these fit me better than Birkenstocks by far.

Shoes fit just fine as they always do. I must have 10 pairs of the Helen sandles as they are the only sandles that give enough arch support for my feet with high arches. Thank you!
