These shoes have a sad story. Up until 2004, Sebago was a privately owned label and all Schoodic's were manufactured in Westbrook, Maine (the name itself is from a location in Acadia National Park in Maine). They felt great on your feet with a cushioned tongue and very smooth, flexible leather. Unfortunately in 2004 ,Sebago was purchased by Wolverine. The first thing they did was close the Maine factory and ship production off-shore. To make matters worse, they started using lesser materials and still charging the same price. These shoes still have the same great look, but the quality of leather is definitely a step or two below what it was when the shoes were made in the United States. These shoes aren't terrible, but there may be less expensive options that are just as good. There is no reason to pay a premium price for Sebago's any longer. Too bad.

Disappointed in this shoe - This shoe is terribly uncomfortable. After wearing them for a few hours on two occasions, the balls of my feet were so sore, it hurt to walk. There is inadequate support (cushion) in the front part of the shoe. I'd return them, but have worn them outside.
