I’ve bought these sandals, annually and in various colors, for almost a decade. Last summer I strayed and bought a different style Birkenstock. I loved them (because they’re Birkenstock’s) but I knew I’d made a mistake. This summer, back to the Gizeh!

I purchased my first pair of this style Birk in Germany in 1997, still perfect fit and high quality!

Trendy yet comfy sandals. After a full day I had some small blisters but think the sandals just needed to be broken in.

I have not worn them yet. I decide to save them as a Christmas gift from the big guy in Red. I live in Jersey and figured I wasn’t going to get a lot of wear in the next couple of weeks before it became Uggs weather vs Berks weather. My daughter has 3 pair; all in different colors and styles. I know that I will be very happy with my purchase.

I was disappointed with my order. The sandals came in with a note saying the buckle was broken. Maybe it was returned and no one checked it before sent out to me. Never had trouble with Zappos before.

I get comments about how great these shoes are...... Birks definitely get kids to Not think traditional Birks but I wore as what my Mom wore. Birk to me to me seems to have tuned into a New generation of kids wanting a More selection. xoxo

I've long admired these shoes on other people so finally got myself a pair. The TOE piece KILLS! I've been wearing Chacos for over a decade so am used to something between my toes, but not something this HARD and BIG. Sadly, I'm returning these even thought the footbed and arch support seem great.

Fit is perfect. I’d say they are true to size.

The toe divider was horribly rigid and hurt pretty bad. Had to return them. I loved the blue color and really wanted them to work.

I have the more traditional two-strap Birkenstocks but in an effort not to look like a hippy everywhere I go, I opted for these in the patent leather black in the same size (40), but with a narrow width. I usually wear a 9-9.5 in US sizes. I love these shoes. Yes, it takes a few days to adjust to the toe strap, but you can live through it. I exercise a lot, and have developed plantar faciitis as a result. I feel ZERO pain in these sandals, and could not recommend them highly enough.

Bought these in my usual size 7-7.5 (38) and they were too large, so I returned and bought in 37 - muuch better. I recommend buying a size down from my experience. Love these!!

Basically loved the shoes, exactly what my daughter wanted. I thought that she might need the narrow as she has a long slender foot and Birkenstocks (to my knowledge) run a bit wide. In this particular shoe, the narrow is very narrow so we are going with the regular width. As usual, Zappos delivered next day free shipping and thankfully free returns!

Fantastic! I wear a 9, sometimes 9.5. The 39 fit perfect. Incredibly comfortable

This is my fourth day for these Gizehs - Regarding the plastic toe thong part - First day - several hours of wearing, in between toes at the base were pretty sore. No calluses or blisters, just achey right at the v between the toes. Day two, I wrapped the base of the the thong part with a strip of flimsy silacone from an old pair of toe spacers I had to buffer the thong and help the ache. Walked in them for about an hour on concrete. Day three, put them on and the ache was gone, thong part not noticeable anymore. I think it's just a new sensation that in between your toes need to get used to... I did stretch the base of the flexible/plastic thong from side to side slowly and carefully a few times, flexing it, gently not to compromise the quality of the foot bed. I'm happy I hung in there. ALSO GREAT NEWS - no plantar fasciitis pain from the weekend!!! I didn't even have to stretch my feet last night. That means, these are corrective as well as comfortable. It's nice to make sure the leather strap is snug, not tight of course. They feel really comfortable, snug and secure. Saving money to get some black ones (I chose Tobacco and they are nicely neutral, goes with much) I forgot to mention, another reason I chose this shoe/sandal is because all of my black and navy darker colored rubber flip flops not only gave me great pain at end of day, but my feet were always discolored. From rubber! Yuk. This won't happen with foot bed on these -

Had to return the first order with my usual size becauee the rim of the shoe was scrunching my toes. I sized up and it took about 2 weeks to break them in. Very uncomfortable at first, but I knew they would be. Now they're my go to sandals. No back pain and no foot pain. I've had plantar fasciitis and have to be very careful when choosing shoes. Also, wide feet with bunions. I wear these to work and even around the house instead of walking barefoot to prevent foot and back pain. Very happy with these shoes. I got the licorice black. Very nice.

First pair of Birkenstocks and I love them!

unfortunately I have to return. I bought size 38 and 39. The 38 is too short, 39 is too big in the tow box. Both pair rub and really hurt between the toe. I'm very disappointed in the fit of the Gizeh. I've had a pair of the exact same style for years called Betula and they are so very comfortable and I wear them all the time. My old berkies in the same exact style are a size 39, they fit perfectly. Wanted to purchase a few new pair in different colors. Why does Birkenstock no longer offer this the Betula??

I've loved the look of this shoe on other people's feet. But I have a low instep and it just doesn't cinch closely enough to fit. Even on the last hole, the shoe slips around or off when I walk. Punching an additional hole wouldn't work -- it would torque the strap too much. I'm exchanging these for a pair of Mayari, which has two separate straps to tighten or loosen.

I Bought these for my 10 ye old daughter who is normally a youth 4. She sometimes can fit into a very small women’s size. First I tried the gizeh kids size 34 which only comes in narrow. She has a narrow foot. They were way to narrow although the length just fit. Living in New England I knew I wanted them a tad big so they fit her for a full year at least. So I returned the 34 kids and bought the adult regular width 35 which converts to a 4-4.5. She is a narrow and most shoes slip off unless they have ties but seeing how narrow the kids version was I am so glad I went with regular width because you can tighten the buckle just fine. They are perfect! And she finds them very comfortable. The women’s 35 is definetly equal to a youth 4/4.5 in American shoes for a 10 year old

So, these are very comfortable sandals...as with any Birkenstock shoe. However they resemble Jesus shoes. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but totally not my style. I returned.

I went to a pediatrist for an Achilles bone spur. He recommended Birkenstocks because of the arch supports. The price is good compared to SAS shoes.

Actually for my 12 yo daughter. At this age they want to wear cheap flip flops... we all did... but if you kid has high arches, no arches, is hyperflexible in the feet, or is perhaps overweight... they really do need more support for their feet in the long run. And also some barefoot time!! They are also stylish and even though they are sandles, feet stay reasonably warm down to the 60f.

Based on the fact that I wear a US size 6.5-7 in most all of my shoes, I ordered the 37 regular width which the size chart indicated as comparable to a US 6-6.5. When they arrived they were way too big. I should have known better because this is my second pair of Gizeh but I went by the chart. I would have ordered both 36 and 37 but 36 was sold out at the time. I elected to be notified when they came back in stock and was very pleased that within the same week they did. I ordered the 36 immediately, returned the 37s with no trouble and am very happy with my Gizehs. I wish ALL online ordering/shipping/returns could be a great as Zappos. P.S. I ordered the Onyx color which took some googling to figure out because they are like a metallic slate grey/blue. It’s a great color- these will be my Labor Day to Memorial Day pair. I have Antique Lace for summer.

Hurt between my toes. Foot pain after long walks that does not happen with other Birkenstock styles.
