Years ago (decades ago?!) when I first tried Birkenstocks (the classic Arizona) they seemed SO uncomfortable and I thought I was simply the rare person on whose feet they did not work. But I decided to read some reviews recently and I realized that you have to "break them in." So I ordered the Gizeh in a 40 (I am a 9.5 in the US). They were uncomfortable at first. I wore them for half an hour the first day and thought I'd have to return them. But I kept with it, increasing the time and tightening the strap and now about 10 days after they arrived I simply LOVE them.

I have these same shoes in black in a regular width. They were out of the regular but other reviewers said the narrow worked fine, so I ordered it. If I hadn't had my regular width to compare I too would of said "they're fine". However, the foot bed was a bit tight so I am returning for a regular (which they now have in stock). Otherwise, I LOVE these shoes and am happy to have in 2 colors now. They fit well, are durable, comfortable and an attractive summer sandal.

I own other Birkenstocks but the Gizeh is not a good style for me. The strap covers too much of my toe, and my usual size almost feels too big. I wanted to like it, but I’m sticking with the Mayari. Sadly this will go back.

I LOVE these. They took a couple full days to break in with a lot of walking, but now that they’re broken in, they’re by fall my favorite sandal. The break-in phase, between my toes felt it most, but get through that and they’re the best.

I ordered these specifically for the mod-to-your-feet cork footbed! There’s a ridge under the toes and arch support for supreme foot comfort (in my opinion)! These are not a light shoe, nor are they heavy, but they’d be GREAT for all day wear, either standing or walking! They’re NOT waterproof, so I would not recommend wearing them to a water park! I usually wear a size 7 (a 7 1/2 in Clark’s), and a size 38 fit well. The buckle can be adjusted for a snugger/looser fit.

For such an expensive piece of footwear, the quality of the materials was disappointingly low. Extremely oversized - no way these will fit in my usual shoe size. Look to be at least two full sizes too large. Returning.

the left shoe is defective and tilted my foot towards my instep causing ankle paind. i am returnong these - very unhappy that a defective shoe was sold.

This style of Gizah Birks feel cheap bcs of the patent “leather” - it curls up around the thong area right out of the box. I don’t think it will be very durable so I’m returning them. I will stick to real leather from now on.

The sandals were very stiff and the footbed does not bend or give at all - no cushioning. the leather top was stiff also. I returned then.

For this brand the material is cheap looking plastic. Yuck.

I love these! They are soooo comfortable

I ended up sizing down for a cozier fit (better for me with slip-ons so they don't fly off) and very happy I did

I so wanted to wear the Gizeh in Silver as my first pair of Birkenstocks, but the toe seperater is hard plastic, sharp and uncomfortable on the tender skin between my toes that it dug in with each step. Sadly, I sent them back.

Fun and summery, plus extremely comfortable! I love these sandals and am so glad I invested in them.

I could see how these would be very comfortable and I desperately wanted to like them. However, I have a pretty bad bunion on my right foot and it hung over the edge of the sandal. Because of the stiffness of the sole, I could tell that walking for long periods of time would have irritated the bottom of my foot where it hung over the foot bed. Any person with a wide foot that doesn't have a bunion would probably be okay with them.

Love my Birkenstocks! They are high quality and true to size. You can go wrong with this brand.

I love birkenstocks and these are no exception!! Fits nice and snug. So comfortable and recommended by my podiatrist. The style goes great with summer apparel.

This was a disappointing purchase. The cork is cracking and the top layer of the footbed is already lifting. They’re only a couple of months old and wear them just a few days a week.

First time to purchase Birkenstock anything....these sandals are my new favorite. May have to purchase a few more in different colors.

I've been avoiding Birks for my entire life -- these were the only shoes my grandma would wear LONG before they were cool. They aren't the most attractive but OMG they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I have a narrow foot and once I adjusted the strap, these fit my foot perfectly. They don't slide off!

I've bought a pair of these each summer for the last four years--they help my feet reset after nine months of standing on concrete floors as a teacher.

Very comfortable. Can wear with shorts or casual summer dresses. I will wear these often!
