These shoes are very comfortable, as are most Birkenstocks. The strap comes up higher on your foot, so your foot does not slap with each step. Thus, giving a decent look without the "flip flop" sound and discomfort. They are not the prettiest - but most people don't wear these shoes for appearance only.

I originally purchased this shoe in an 8 1/2 but I had to return them for a size 9 as it felt like my big toe was touching the top of the toe box. I have never worn a size 9 in my life but the 9 fits perfectly. I wear this shoe to train in for my first 5K run and from the first time out, the shoe is very comfortable and cushioning. No break in time! I highly recommend this shoe but recommend getting 1/2 size larger than you normally do.

They're great for my walk to work. Be sure to break these in. I wound up with blisters on the balls of both feet from wearing them too much too soon.

I avoided Birks for 42 years, but after being diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, I had to give in. They're not exactly flattering, but the Gizeh is the most fashionable Birkenstock style available. They're also incredibly comfortable and relieve my foot pain. Order a size smaller. I'm a 10, but the 41 was too big. A 40 was perfect.

Nice to find narrow widths that actually fit! These are nice, but not quite as well fitting as my Birkenstocks. These required some wearing in - got a blister between my toes when I first used them, something that never happens with Birkenstocks. Wish there were other footbed choices (colors) - like black for example. That would dress them up a little, but all in all, I love them and am grateful to find narrow-width sandals that actually fit!

I ordered the black size 40 and I wear a 10M (some times a 9.5M). The between toe strap was a little uncomfortable the first day and so was the sole but after 1 days wear it broke in and now is completely comfortable.

Good, but need to be broken in - I only gave this 3 stars for comfort because you have to break these in (unlike other Birks I've owned). The toe separator definitely gives you blisters if you aren't careful, but if you wear them gently the first week or so (no long hikes!), they're great! Very good for walking everywhere, as I do with my baby and the weird shiny brown leather color is quite nice.

These sandals are great. They take a few days to break into them, but once they're "molded" to your foot, they are very comfortable and provide a lot of support. I always order the Euro size smaller than what I normally wear in "American" size and I've never had a problem.

I love my sandals - I have worn Birks before, and I went with the narrow this time because I read on Birkenstocks web site that narrow is a US regular. I am glad I made that decision because they fit perfectly. Also I fit into a size 39 (8) even though I normally wear a 9.

I love this shoe. I trekked all over San Francisco last weekend and felt no pain. Usually I am a shoe diva and end up miserable. These are cute in a crunchy way, and very comfortable.

These shoes are fantastic. Cute and really comfortable. I knew they ran slightly big and ordered a little smaller than usual and they fit perfect. And Zappos shipping was amazing. I ordered them at home one night and they were at my office the next day, after lunch!

Comfy - Love them and true to size. Very comfy. Take a few days for feet to get used to but my feet and legs have never felt better!!!!

Cute Birks - I am happy with my Birks but it's taking a while to break them in. The style is very cute compared to the classic Birks.

These Birks are not too bad for someone trying to avoid the "look" of Birk while still getting the nice footbed associated with the brand. The toe thing is a little uncomfortable and the strap seemed short. I'll still wear them!

Amazing - I love these shoes! I get compliments on them all the time and they are so comfortable. Unfortunately, these sandals were very Uncomfortable when I first got them, but after a few days of breaking them in they felt great. Also, I had to order a much smaller size than I expected: I normally wear a 7 and only the size 36 fit comfortably. I love Zappos. They make ordering and returning so easy! Yay!!

Disappointed! I was very disappointed that this sandal didn't fit. It felt a half size smaller and my toes particularly on my left foot were hanging over the shoe, I normally wear a 8 1/2 so that’s why I ordered the 39, going to send them back for a 40 I just hope they are not too big, over all I like the look of the shoe, comfort was a key priority for me because I have a bunion and flat feet, hope the larger size is a better fit.

Cute, and give support. I love this shoe. I've had many Birkenstocks through the years, and I know they need an adjustment period; they don't feel comfortable right away. Once you've "molded" them to your own feet, however, I believe they're great. I wore this particular pair to work for 8 hours right off the bat, with no problems, and I've received many compliments on my "cute" shoes. I think they provide good support, and are a healthy alternative to the popular inexpensive flip flops, so I plan to buy a second pair in a different color.

The best sandal of all - I purchased a Birkenstock Gizeh in 2003 and I have worn them ever since. I wore them all summer and then in winter wore them in the house at all times. They fit my feet the same as a glove would fit my hands. I have arthritis and have to wear orthotics in my shoes; but with my Birkenstock Gizeh, orthotics are not necessary. Mine are in the color mango, which I love.

I have horrible feet so I was looking for something that would provide support and not hurt my bunion. I walk around a lot on pavement so I needed something that wasn't going to scar up my feet like all my other "work" shoes. They had to be appropriate enough for work (public relations) and play. I was skeptical at first because they are heavy duty! But the design and shape alone show that they are high quality. The toe separator seemed a little painful at first, but you get used to them. The footbed is really comfy. I am a size 9 US but got a 39 instead of a 40. They fit snugly against my foot. I think I could walk long distances in these without being in pain. They are hippie looking but I like that look and they are great with long skirts or pants. I recommend these for comfort and for style. Oh, and I got the brown and they are great with light or dark colors!

Birkenstock Sandal - The shoes were not initially comfortable at all, but they get better with a few wears and long walks. They look really nice and I have received numerous compliments on the shoes. I'd recommend them for aesthetic reasons, but not comfort.

A bit bigger then expected, but great. I usually wear either an 8 or an 8.5 and I purchased the recommended size... definitely a bit too big. With the correct size though, the sandals are fantastic. The arch support is just right for me - I don't have high arches, but I do like good support. Ratings are all a 5, but for the smaller size.

Birkenstock - I really love these shoes, they are very stylish for Birkenstock and they look great with my summer outfits. I am a size 8.5 and ordered the 39. After wearing them though I am wondering if I should have returned them for the 40. They looked and felt like they fit but after wearing them my toes seem scrunched a little at the front of the shoe. They run a bit on the smaller side. Very comfortable though. I even hiked in them and no blisters.

Great sandal - I love them, but wish they carried a wide size. My wide feet spill over the edge. Nonetheless, I wear them every day.

Very happy with the red - Love the color and feel of this shoe. So comfortable great arch support, get so many compliments on them people can't get over they are really Birkenstock's because they are so cute. Got narrow because that is all they had in the red and they fit fine.

I "heart" Gizeh - This sandal is great! Looks cool and it's so comfy. I have been wearing them non-stop since they arrived! After reading all the reviews, I ordered a size down and a narrow. They fit like a glove. Thank you Zappos!
