Cute and comfy! They go with everything. They take a few days to break in, or at least they did for me.

I am truly the last person on the planet who ever thought they'd own a pair of Birkenstocks! But, I had had hip surgery in the beginning of July and couldn't bend to tie, buckle, or lace shoes. I needed something I could slip on, yet would provide sufficient support and comfort - but did not want to sacrifice style and that all important cute summer shoe factor! After seeing how pretty and stylish these looked on a cousin - who has been swearing by her Gizehs for the last few years, I thought I might have to re-think my stance on Birkenstocks. After reading the millionth rave review here on Zappos, I was convinced. I opted for the metallic silver because it's a fun summer look that is still neutral enough to go with my entire seasonal wardrobe - from cut off denim shorts to yoga wear to flirty sun dresses. I have pretty much lived in them since the day they arrived which, as always with Zappos, is within a business day or two. As for the sizing, it seemed that a lot of people recommended either going up or down a size. I am a very consistent 7.5 and ordered the 38. They fit like a glove! Nor did I need much time to break them in. They were comfortable from the start, even before conforming to my foot. I recently got back from a 10 day beach vacation and wore these the entire time. Usually I might take a couple of different sandals to coordinate with various outfits but these silver Gizehs were all I needed! They totally provide the support and comfort I needed without sacrificing any of the style - I find these cute, girly, and fashionable….and now may need to think about adding other colors for next year! Much to my chagrin, I am officially a fan of Birkenstocks (was always a fan of Zappos)!

Zappos is great! I ordered my shoes on a Sunday with free delivery and they arrived that Tuesday! Now that's what I call fast turn around!

These are very comfortable! I love the color too. Make sure you don't order the wrong ones: Birkenstock Gizeh by Papillio are so very UNCOMFORTABLE and even though they look almost identical, i couldn't even wear them for one minute! The true Birkenstocks, these ones, are comfortable and the color makes them almost fancy.

Love these sandals. Comfortable and versatile enough to dress up or down; jeans vs a maxi dress. Especially functional for traveling when trying to pack light.

Love these shoes, great comfort with the arch support, stylish...they are the shoe in Italy this summer! I'm a size 9 or 39 (EU) and the 39 fits perfectly.

Love these shoes! More stylish than regular Birks, but just as comfortable. They fit pretty much the same as the more traditional styles of Birkenstocks, since the footbed is the same. The top strap adjustment helps; both my daughter and I wear the same size (37 regular, size 7 other shoes), but she has a higher instep, so keeps the strap on the Gizeh much looser than I do. Same size fits us both perfectly, though.

I love these shoes. Back in the '90s I decided that I wasn't ever going to wear Birkenstocks again...I guess one can always change their minds though. These are cute and soon to be comfortable after I wear them a few more times.

Most comfy shoes ever! I was hesitant to get Birkenstocks but now that I have them, there is no looking back! I would just be careful on the size you order. The way the shoe is molded to your foot doesn't allow much wiggle room if it's too big or too small. I had to return a size that was too big before I ended up with ones that were the perfect fit.

Love! I have always wanted to try out Birkenstocks but knew I'd never actually wear them because they were a little too 'crunchy' for my aesthetic sense. When I saw this style I knew it was time to finally give them a try. I wanted black and my first impulse was to buy the plain "black" version, but then I saw the "licorice" and ordered them. The licorice style dresses them up just a little - it's a nice pebbled grain with just a hint of sheen verses the flat and more casual aesthetic of the plain black. I love them so much I ordered the "silver" and am pretty sure I won't be wearing much of anything besides these two pairs unless I really need to dress up or am running/working out - in which case I will only wear Salomon. (I have metatarsalgia and have had to become extremely picky about shoes.) As for sizing, I'd read from other reviews to size down and I was concerned about this. I hate toes hanging off the end of sandals - ewwww! I normally wear an 8.5 or 9 and I ordered these in a 39 (8 / 8.5) with confidence knowing that Zappos has free returns so I could get a size 40 if necessary. The 39's are perfect. And, as always, I love you Zappos!

Love this sandals. I am a size 8 1/2 and the size 39 M was perfect for me. They are hard at the beginning but after a week or so they are really very comfortable and very supportive. I will get some more in the future and Zappos has the best service and very reliable. Love your company! Thanks Zappos!

Most comfortable footbed ever. I had foot surgery and these are the only shoes I can stand to wear. Rather wide, adjustable straps., soft suede surface, not to mention a really cool color that goes with everything.

Love these shoes. I bought for a trip to San Francisco. Comfort at its finest, and looks great with everything. A nice upgrade from regular Birks.

I really like this sandal. It may not be the prettiest sandal in the closet -- but the comfort level is great. I was having nagging lower back pain - it went away after I started wearing these sandals. Coincidence? Maybe. But I think they helped. I only put moderate arch support because I have a high instep and could use more. But the arch support is far better than any other sandals I own. They feel great!

This is my first pair, and I love them and the color . . . I ordered from zappos before and was disappointed but not this time. I am very pleased with my purchase and will purchase more of this sandal in the future.

Love these shoes! Birks are very well made and a good price. I used to wear Birkenstocks back in the '90s and I was a little apprehensive when I started seeing them pop up again in magazines. But I got a pair and I love them. Super comfortable and well made.

I love Birkenstocks. This is my second pair of these sandals. My first pair were sent to me from a German friend who had been a houseguest. They provide perfect support for my 'senior' feet.

I always forget that Birkenstocks day a few days to wear in, but once I wore them for a few days, I have basically not taken these shoes off.

Love these shoes. Have about 20 pairs. Feet swell a lot and this style is good for that. Have flat feet and the arch support is great. Try them. You will be hooked on this brand.My daughter is a nurse and she now wears them too.

I love these shoes! As with any Birks it takes a few wears before they form to your feet but I can wear them for hours! I have a hard time with sandals for lack of arch support but no issues with these. They look really nice for Birks and I'm confident that they'll last a long time.

I have worn Birks more than 20 years this is the first time buying thong sandals. Disappointed, very uncomfortable specially the toe ridge; still trying to brake them in (3 weeks) I will never buy this style again.

I didn't buy my Gizeh's from Zappos but I would have and will likely order more colors from them. I'm writing this review in regards to sizing and fit for those that have never owned a pair of Birkenstocks. I have owned Birks before among other euro sized shoes and am familiar with how they usually fit, however on the advice of some reviews here I went down a size from my usual (38 to 37) and have gotten a perfect fit. I tried on both sizes in a store and the fit seemed close with both, but the 38 had just a little too much room while the 37 seemed made for me. I have them in licorice and love them. The fit is comfortable (the toe thong takes a little getting used to) and the sandals are stylish and available in many colors. I will be adding to my collection in the future and will be ordering from Zappos for certain!

This is my first pair of Birkenstock sandals but it won't be my last. I usually wear Danskos but was looking for a bit of variety. I have arthritis in my feet, so support is crucial. These sandals feel great! The arch did take about 1 day to get used to but it was no big deal. Stylish and my feet feel good; can't ask for anything more! I wear a size 40 in Danskos but the 39 fit great in Birkenstock.

They were great right out of the box. True to size, I literally wear them most all the day and everyday. I have a dressier pair of patent leather and another pair in a brownish color.

Love these! I have plantar fasciitis and it is true that these are the best. I did not think I could comfortably wear a flip flop again but these have such great arch support. Plus they are very cute and look great with any casual outfit.
