I have owned a pair of teal leather Birkenstock Gizehs for about 3 years now, and they are hands down my favorite shoe of all time. I live in Minnesota so can only wear them about half the year, but when I can, my feet are in paradise. I have flat feet & plantar fasciitis, but these shoes really do feel more comfortable than walking barefoot. (It's the Birkenstock marketing motto and I didn't believe it until I experienced it.) Anyway, the old Gizehs started falling apart, and I figured I'd try a slightly different style. The Licorice Birko-Flor ones are beautiful! So stylish, look just as good as the leather in a different way. Now I can wear them to work or around town again without feeling shabby (I wore the old ones probably a little longer than was classy). Can't wait for spring! When I first got Birks, I went to a pricey shoestore and had my feet measured, and then I bought the pair on Ebay. (I'm cheap! Although splurged on the 2nd pair.) Definitely worth it to get your size measured in person. I am a 6.5-7 in US size but a 36 Birk, which many sites say is around a size 5. Not true!

Before purchasing these shoes, I read the reviews posted on Zappos website. I saw that many people stated the shoes were uncomfortable due to the hard plastic between the toes. However, as a seasoned and long time flip flop wearer, I hoped this would not be the case for me. Unfortunately, I found the plastic between the toes to be unbearable. Could barely take two steps in the shoes-unbearable. Thanks to Zappos friendly return policy, I've sent them back and will attempt to find another style I love. :)

I loved the style and quality of this shoe and really wish it had fit me. The sizing is strange. I'm a true size 35 and while it fit me width wise it was a full 3/4 too long in the heel. My toes (which are stubby) reached all the way to the front end of the shoe. (I wouldn't recommend this for someone with long toes.) It feels like the toe strap is in the wrong place. I wear flip flops all the time and have never had this issue.

Very stiff and uncomfortable. A large bump on the outside of the footbed, intended to stabalize the foot, instead dug into my foot and bruised the bone. The bruise took several weeks to heal! I have wide feet and these were listed as narrow, so that could be the problem.

It's a Birks! It works, it fits, no surprises I love them. Happy to find I can purchase these shoes online - was worried about fit. Now I can buy all the colors! & Zappos - great service.

I was hesitant to order these. I am a true "narrow" (8 1/2) and this style/color (white patent) was not available in the narrow width. I ordered a size 39 and with the adjustment on the buckle, they fit perfectly. I am so happy to have found this style/color and that it actually fits! I will definite not hesitate to order colors in this same style. Thanks Zappos for the quick delivery, too!

Gizeh is my favorite Birkenstock style. I have multiple pairs and try to add new colors periodically. I wanted metallic sandals that would not be too bright. The titanium color fit the bill. It has a slight greenish tint that really blends well with almost any color. Since these sandals last almost forever, I plan to enjoy these for many years. I have never needed much of a break in period with any of my Birkenstocks, so these are ready to wear and enjoy. Thank you, Zappos, for a great style and color selection and great customer service! I always come back for more!

I'm just posting this review to let people know that if you are a size 7 (as many of us are), do not purchase the 38! Even though it says the 38 is for feet size 7 to 7.5, they are huge. 37 is a perfect fit for a size 7 foot in this style. My first pair of Birks were in a size 38... they never fit correctly in the heel, flopped around and I ended up throwing them away (thanks to the salesperson who insisted I was a size 38). Don't let yourself be talked into a too-big Birkenstocks because they'll stretch over time and you'll end up with an annoying pair of sandals!

These were the only pair of sandals I took on our beach vacation. I wore them everyday and also with a maxidress for a date night. So comfortable and I love the gold color! Might need to get the silver ones next summer!

Best, cutest sandals you will ever buy. They do, however, run big, so I would go down a few sizes. I usually wear a 7.5 shoe...I got a size 35.

I love that Birkenstock has these sandals in such amazing colors. I get several compliments from random strangers every time I wear these. I have weak arches so I try to find sandals that I can wear all day but still have a stylish flare to them. The sole is a little bulkier than some of the ultra-cute sandals I would like to wear, but it is a worthwhile compromise for me since I have options like this colorful Gizeh.

I've been wearing these Birks in different colors for years - they have great support & provide that 'Birk sandal style' that works so well. I really love this color and not black, not silver, but something in-between that works with everything black Birks would but has a little more character.

I absolutely love my Birkenstocks! My feet are a half size different and they were comfortable the minute I put them on. I was going to warmer weather when I bought them and was able to go sight seeing in style. I can't tell you how many foreigners stopped me and asked me where I got them. I love the gold color also. They match with everything and make them look a bit less clunky. I am back to cold weather now and will look forward to wearing them when it gets warm again!

Beautiful sandal. I love the golden brown as it makes the sandal more versatile in what I can wear it with. It was comfortable the moment I tried it on!

Love the look of the shoes. I got them for a backpacking trip where I knew I would be walking an abnormal amount. I did end up with a blister between my big toe with the rubbing and had very sore feet but again that could have been because I was walking like crazy. I still wear these shoes back home with boyfriend jeans and LOVE the look.

My daughter wanted these for her birthday, thinking they would be good supportive shoes that her dance coaches are always asking her to wear. She loves them, but since buying them, both our chiropractor and point shoe fitter have told us they are not really supportive at all, and should not be worn as the primary shoe. That having been said, she loves them, and finds them extremely comfortable. And I'm baffled with how to square this with the Birkenstock reputation as the "healthy shoe." But, I will try to have her wear her running shoes more often, and these less.

Love...will be buying more colors. I put them on after long days of wearing heels and they are heaven.

I have pair in bright pink, that my 17 year old daughter kept wanting to borrow, so I bought these for her. They are great. So comfortable, and unlike lots of flip flop, they stay on. Worth the money.

These are perfect for someone like me with a narrow foot. They are moulded to fit your for perfectly, providing excellent support all around your foot. Most importantly they don't slip off when you walk, and you don't have to hold them on with your toes - which is the difficulty when you're trying to find flip flops for narrow feet. These are fantastic quality and I imagine they'll last a very long time.

I'm a long time Birk wear-er. These shoes look great and feel great. Had no problems breaking them in and the In toe piece was fine.

I had been admiring this sandal on friends for several months, so finally bought myself a pair. I had been warned that they aren't comfortable at first, but are great once broken in, and that was the case. Love the color, as it goes with everything from skirts to jeans!

I love these. The onyx color goes with everything, and they are so comfortable. I've worn them for a week (a lot) and have gotten many compliments - those are Birks? They're so cute! RE: Fit: I ordered both the 38 and the 39 and kept the 38's. I normally wear size 8A or B US, very rarely (sandals only) wear a 7.5. The 39 narrow felt long, the 38N felt a little short, but after switching back and forth and walking on the carpet for a few minutes, it became clear that the 38's were the right fit. The ridge under the toes felt like it hit in the right spot, and I wasn't spilling over anywhere.

For anyone wondering about the various shades of black, I ordered three different ones so I could see them all in person. The black patent is, of course, a glossy patent leather. Very cute. The plain "black" has a soft matte appearance - more like your old-school Birks, although not suede. The "licorice" color is kind of a metallic black with a touch of platinum in it. That's the one I ended up keeping. Not too fancy, not too granola.

With over 1000 reviews, who knows if mine will get read. Regardless - have to give my thoughts. At first, the shoe took some getting used to. It's not comfortable in the sense of "Oh! So cushiony" or what have you. But last week I wore them to an O's game where we were standing room only. I was on my feet for 4 hours. Any other shoe - I would have been sore and uncomfortable w/ a sore back w/in the first hour. No question. But in these shoes? I was fine the entire time. I never felt tired, my back never got sore. So happy about this. As another review I read said - I'm just sad I can't wear them in the winter!
