I am a Pastry Chef and have gone through three of these pairs of shoes in the past four years. I hesitated switching to a clog because I did not like how the heel slips but the fit of the of Active Birki was perfect, especially when compared to the Professional Birkis. I could slip in and out of the Active when I wanted to, not every time I took a step. But, again, I have gone through three of these shoes in the past four years. The first pair, the top of the clog nearest to my ankle began to split just after six months. I wrote Zappos and they credited me the pair. So, I got another pair. That pair lasted for 2 years before the rubber began to split on the right hand side of the clog, allowing water to flood my foot. Well, that second pair lasted 2 years, so I went ahead and bought another pair. One year later, the rubber is splitting in the same place that it did on the very first pair. I really love these shoes but the long-term durability of the rubber is questionable. I wish Birkenstock would make the Active Birki apart of their Professional Birki series because I really love the fit of the Active but I cannot buy a new pair of shoes every year. This is a great pair of shoes if you are not on your feet for 12 hours everyday.

This will be the second pair I've got from Zappos. Im more than happy. On your feet in the kitchen for 10 hours. I do buy new insoles that i put on top of the original.

If you started in the culinary industry with these then you will not switch. Price is perfect, they last 1 year (with the amount of hours spent on them daily) they are easy on and off. You do not slip even on oil (within reason). Just perfect for culinary!

I am just deciding what to return these for with the great Zappos customer service offered here. The fact that they're both men's and women's sizes quoted may confuse people, and they ended up being gigantic (in width and depth) on my feet, I'd have to wear awfully thick socks or go get the gel stuff. Plus they're awfully wide for a medium width it seems. They are well-made, and if they did fit my feet properly, I could see they'd be good shoes, but the angled front part of the shoes was the only measurement that seemed close to my size, and seemed to hit my left foot second toe funny! Going to send back in, really wide and tall, okay in length, but like they were men's size eight. Not for me!

As an operating room RN I spend alot of time on my feet, sometimes standing in one spot for several hours. I have worn several other types of shoes and these have been the best by far. My feet and back do not hurt after work anymore. Thanks Birkenstock!

I am a surgeon and need great arch support and comfort, standing 8-10 hours a day on hard floors. I have worn wooden clogs, Crocs (Rx & Specialist and regular). These initially feel very hard. After wearing them only a short period, you realize the amazing contoured footbed leaves your feet feeling great. No plantar pain after prolonged periods in them. They run true to size and easy to clean. You do not buy these for the looks, so get over it.

Have had several pair. Comfortable for long days rounding, OR, etc. Feel true size but I like about 1/2 size up in these.

Zappos has amazing customer service. Very fast, free shipping. This is the 7th pair of Birki's I have owned. I am a chef and would not wear any other shoe.I would say in my opinion they run a little small. in all other European shoes I wear a 44. US 11/11.5 Sometimes I even have work a 43 depending on the style or "shape" of the shoe. So I was aware of this. But it's a Rio for first time buyers. Zappos make it so easy. even to exchange or return. If you are looking at this shoe either for work or for play, get it. I think they even look good with jeans. Don't waste money on Croc's. this is the real deal!

These are so comfortable, I wore them outside this past week and had to look down to verify that I wasn't wearing my memory-foam slippers. I have a wide foot with a a narrow heal. These fit my size 43 foot very well.

I am so happy with these Super Birki's!! I work in a kitchen, so I'm on my feet very active for 10+ hours a day. They are far superior to the Dansko & Crocs I have been using. Great support, very comfortable. Classic look. They are comfortable from the second you put them on, but it takes a a little bit of time to get used to walking in them. Not bad, just slightly different then other shoes. I highly recommend them to anyone 'back of the house'.

I am not too happy with the product I received. I ordered the navy blue ones and instead of the word Birkenstock printed on it it had the word birki printed on it with a black insole instead of a tan insole with the multicolored birki on it. That isn't even on your website. They were one to two sizes too big. The next size down is too small. I reordered a 7.5 and hopefully this time it has the word Birkenstock printed on it instead or birki and that it fits properly. I always wear a 7.5-8 so I'm not sure the reason it fit so large on me. The insole they came with is comfortable but there is no benefit if it is too large.

I bought these for my husband to replace his Dansko work clogs. He swears by Danskos, but is absolutely insane for these. He is on his feet 14+ hours a day in a busy OR and needs a great fitting, comfortable, durable shoe. These are perfect, easy wear, easy clean, and a great pattern too! He loves them! True to size and well built as the regular Birks are. Awesome purchase.

Good shoe, professional enough for hospital attire. Comfortable for standing, ok for walking, easy to clean. Measured my foot with a ruler (heel against a wall & fully weighted) and it was a size 11 using Zappos size chart, but reviews said they fit big… I got the size 10 and have fit perfect.

Zappos did what they said they'd do in the time frame they said they'd do it. Unusual in this day and age. I'm impressed.

These shoes are extremely comfortable and keep my feet nice and toasty. I love that they are waterproof, and they are very sturdy. Someone stepped on my foot, and it didn't even hurt. The only thing I don't like is the shape of the toe area. Someone referred to them as duck feet.

It must be noted: These are so ugly, it's comical. They are very harsh feeling and super wide. I was not a fan at all but read all the other reviews, people really like them.

I love Zappos, but not a fan of this shoe. It's heaving, wide, and stiff. I also found they do not run large like my Birkenstock sandals. I ordered a half-size down, and they're too short. I would be returning them anyway...not a comfortable shoe.

I love these! They are so practical for my work in the Operating Room and the patients get a kick out of the design. I can be on my feet for 12 hours and my legs do not ache at the end of a shift.

The insole is true to size, but the upper shoe runs large (it's shaped for a man's foot). The shoe drops down against the top of my foot when I walk. I tried thick socks, but then my feet got too hot. Target has inserts that ladies use to make shoes more comfortable or to prevent rubbing. I bought a large one (for the ball of foot, officially) and stuck it in the top of the shoe right about where Birkenstock is written. That seems to work. I wore my old shoes to work yesterday for comparison and the sole felt all wrong and my feet were too hot. I think I've already gotten used to having cooler shoes since they're backless.

These would be a great shoe for me if the cork insole wasn't so hard. I wanted these shoes for around the house on hardwood and slate floors but I really don't feel like breaking these shoes in at the expense of my body. They would be perfect if the insole was softer and more cushioned. Not fond of the weird smell either.

I have wide feet and a high arches. These fit great and have lots of support. They are very comfortable (but not as comfortable as my Dansko Pro XPS). They are ugly - I have brown. I bought to wear as slippers inside the house so it does not matter - but they are really ugly.

Be patient and these Super Birki clogs will reward you. Don't do as I do, do as I say...wore these on an eight-hour shift straight out of the box and my toes were soon mangled. Enjoy them around the house for short stints until one day you'll forget you're wearing them. The support these shoes provide is unsurpassed and the color selection is adorable.

These fit like other Birki's I've worn in the past, and for me that's perfect. These are a little more heavy than some other Birki's I've had in the past, but that isn't a bad thing. The only thing I would call out that's a little different is the skull print looks white in the pictures, but it's actually silver. That's fine with me, and I actually like the silver better, but might be important to others.
