These shoes wrapped my feet in healing comfort after my plantar fasciitis had flared up and I had injured my Achilles tendon by hiking long miles in ill-fitting shoes.

I saw these shoes about five years ago and wanted them ever since, I am so glad I finally bought them. They are wonderful, very comfortable and of course true Birkenstock style. Zappos has great service, the shoes arrived in just a few days, no shipping costs!

What is comfort? Birkenstock. Zurich is comfortable and conforms to pressure points in my feet. I think there is a health benefit to the footbed. Zurich covers the top of the foot and I've gotten many compliments on their appearance. They are true to sizing lengthwise, I bought narrow for a semi-wide foot but stick to a B width. Regular width might be a tad wide on some people but with Birkenstock, adjust the straps or make some more holes. Zappos has been the king of customer service. Great place to buy!

Hands down the absolute most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I bought two pairs so I can have a play pair and dressier darker color pair. I have several other styles of Birks and I love those too, but these are special.

Cool Shoe - My son wanted this sandal for going back to school. His Father has been wearing Birkenstock Arizona sandals for 20 years, so I knew it was a quality product. He said the first few days of wearing the sandal,(the break-in period) was rough for him, but now these Zurich sandals are all that he wears. He loves them, but they will need to be retired for the winter in a few months. WISCONSIN!!! A tip, my son tried on other Birkenstocks at a local store to help with the sizing.

Happy customer - This is my second pair of these shoes. My first pair lasted a long time. I had been looking for this style for some time and was very pleased to find them through Zappos. Since each store carries only the style of shoe they want to I found it difficult to go from store to store, so looking on your web page made life easy for me. Thank you, Mrs. M.

Wonderful! These Birkies are made with thick yet soft and supple suede. They adjust to fit my feet perfectly. Feel like heaven on. Look great! I'm crazy about them; I couldn't be more pleased.

The best birkis! These were my second pair of birks, bought in the 80's and the most comfortable! I wore them until they fell apart. After awhile they begin to fit like a glove, but then, don't all Birks?

Repeat Buyer - I plan to buy the Zurich again and in different colors. I really like the way it makes my feet feel so comfortable.

I have been wearing the zurich in suede for 20 years. They wear so well that the first pair I bought, I wore for 5 years. Really comfortable and adjustible so you can wear socks with them in the fall.

I've quite a few pairs of Birkenstocks and these are no exception. I like the Zurich because it has more coverage of the foot. Most of the others I have are two or three straps. These are very comfortable just like all my Birkies.

I bought my first pair of Zurich back in 1989. Still wear it. Ready to buy my next pair! The best pair of sandals I have ever had.

Birks are the best! I love the Zurich style, and wore mine OUT! Birkenstock has so many cute styles out now, it's hard to choose, but I would choose this style again. It's the perfect summer/winter shoe!

Great shoe - I am difficult to fit. I added a heel/arch pad and this is one of the most comfortable shoes I have worn. It takes pressure off my lower back where I had surgery and hardware. Took a size smaller than I wear in other shoes.

Great alternative to Clogs - My feet are too narrow for clogs, so I thought I'd try Zurich as my "winter" sandal (OK I do live in northern FL, so it isn't usually too cold) to wear with socks. They are the only Birkies that needed a break in, but in 2 days they were fine, at least with socks, which is how I wear them.

THE USUAL GOOD FIT - I haven't had any Birkenstocks that were cut as high, and I had to get used to them. But they are the usual great fit I've always had in Birkenstocks.

I have high arches and unfortunately these spread my feet out to the point of my toes touching the front lip of the insole, so they did not meet my needs. Plus, if you have long toes like me, they show alot of toe. So I didn't like how my feet looked in them. But I will say that they are made very well and I love the taupe color! If you have regular width to narrow feet, get the narrows.

I have a small foot, size 4.5 and these still are a little big on me. But this is not the fault of the shoe. Birkenstock shoes also run a little big.

Somehow, they seem different from what I remember. I bought these shoes in the dark brown leather color because I liked the color and I had never seen them in this color before. So, when I got them (thanks to Zappos for the reliable and rapid service!) I wasn't disappointed with the look at all. The thing though is that Birkenstocks nowadays seem to be cut a little narrower than when I got my first pair back in the early nineties. And that's not really the problem that I'm having. The main problem with me is that the arch support really gets in the way of my non-existent arch. It's like my feet feel like they're going up a hill in these shoes--and that's not how feet (mine or anyone else's) are supposed to feel. All in all, I just wish that Birkenstock made shoes that weren't so hard in the sole. That and they could just leave out the hard footbed thing that doesn't really match up to my feet. I mean, most shoes don't bother with that anyway--I'm thinking about my Crocs about now. The reason I'm not giving this shoe a 'one star' is because I always appreciate the ample toe room in these shoes. That's probably the biggest plus there is. They just...I just don't like a shoe that I have to 'break in'. They should already be comfortable when I put them on.

I have worn Birkenstocks for decades. My feet are growing wider as I grow older(?) and now the Zurich style is too narrow for my feet. Bummer! Birks are great products, but now only the Bostons are comfortable for me.

Sorry, but I got tired of waiting for you to re-stock the taupe suede and went elsewhere for them. I really liked them and love the service at Zappo's but just couldn't wait any longer for you to re-stock this item.
