Size - It was a full size wider than it should have been. And had very high sides.

Deer Stags Times Review - Inconsistent fit among Deer Stags. 2 year ago I purchased a "Times" made in China that fit wonderfully. The most recent pair, from a different country, is tight across the top of the arch with a narrower, less padded tongue.

Look at the floor - Like other reviewers, I had problems with the shoe hitting my ankle bones until I put an extra pair of orthotics in them. The big problem is that the sole really marks up the floor.

My husband said these were very cushiony, but like a lot of other reviewers, these hit his ankle bones. So he is able to wear them only for a few hours. We ordered some Timberlands, and they fit great and are supremely comfortable.

Uppers didn't hold their shape - looked sloppy after a couple weeks. Soft sole that leaves marks on the floor. Too mushy to be called comfortable.

Fairly comfortable, decent looking. I had another pair of Deer Stags probably 10 yrs ago and I loved them. These are just OK; I would not buy them again. They look like something a cop would wear and they leave black marks from the sole and heel that rub off easily - fortunately.

The soles of the shoes are extremely comfortable but when I first started breaking the shoes in, I experienced discomfort from the left shoe creasing and pinching the base of my little and fourth toes. This did ease up eventually but both shoes still press on the top of my foot when I step and display a prominent crease. Because of the creases, they have also begun bending up like elf shoes.

Deer Stags changes - The Deer Stags that I bought and wore a couple of years ago were extremely comfortable. I received a new pair about a month ago, and a change had been made. The height of the upper edge of the shoe, rear of the shoelaces and to the fore of the heel, has been raised. Now, that edge digs into the bottom of my ankle bones whenever I step. This is very annoying, and occasionally painful. If you have ever had problems with shoes whose tops are too high, avoid this shoe. Otherwise, very comfortable.

Inexpensive shoe, cheap construction - Looks and comfort are OK, but it feels like this shoe won't last but a short while. It honestly feels like the shoe has no outer sole and that you're walking around in gum rubbers with padding on the inside. You can even push on the sole from the outside with you're finger and feel it pushing up inside the shoe.

Not pleased - These shoes feels good every time I put them on, but only for the first half an hour to an hour or so. After that, my feet start hurting from the shoes' insoles, I don't know why. It looks kind of clownish because the front is very soft and flattens out, you'll have to get shoe trees for there. Everything else about the shoe is great, but my main disappointment is with the discomfort from the insoles making it painful to walk or even to remain standing.

The shoe is too tight on the outside edge, they rubbed my small toes raw after half a days use. I will be returning them ASAP.

The shoe is very wide and upon wearing them once they began to develop a crease on the top due to how wide the shoe is. I will be sending them back.

Bought these in December and I am already seeing cracking on the bottom and able to see through the underside where the heal meats the rest. They felt nice and look decent but really not worth the price for how long they lasted. Really not satisfied at all.

Good looking and semi stylish shoes however somewhat lacking in quality. After 8 months of moderate wear, the top front toe areas of both shoes began to peel off. Not a very durable shoe.

Have owned these shoes before, but the quality seems to have deteriorated. The dye is not even throughout.

I live in the UK and and have bought these shoes via family in the States. I've worn this brand for over 10 years (deer stages times) and have to say that the last three batches over the last 3 years have been poorly manufactured. The sole comes off as the glue is not strong enough. I don't think I will be buying this brand again.

Have always purchased this shoe over many years. Was always get price and well made. The last pair split on the bottom. I contacted Deer Stags and they asked for a picture which was sent. Said they would get back to me in SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS. New got back to me, e-mailed again and they said send them address and sizes. Never anything done. Thos company has no customer service department to help if you have a problem, they just tell you to wait SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS for a response. Will never buy their shoes again.

Cheap. Not wholly uncomfortable, but the whole assembly just felt and looked like something that would come out of a gumball machine. They were a half size too small, but very close to being true to size. At the end of the day, I just had no confidence in them being a durable shoe.

Very comfortable shoe with uppers that hold up well and take polish. As others have reviewed, the sole and heel are a man-made product that cannot be repaired or replaced. I tread on the outside of my heel and require glued wear strips. You cannot nail into this heel. The sole wears well and the shoe fits my wider foot well. I have had two pairs that were very serviceable. My third pair's sole fractured in front of the heel catastrophically. My spare pair had an eyelet detach before I wore them the first time. I like the comfort and fit, but quality is a conceern.

Shoe fit great. Loved the extra cushion in the heel. Really didn't like the lack of cushion for the ball of the foot. Not comfortable to walk in if you pound on the ball of your feet.

Very comfortable, maybe the most comfortable I have ever worn. Quality has lot to be desired...soles separate on a regular basis (less than six months), outers fake leather peels off easily, Zappos has sent me at least three replacement pairs over the years (so they must know there are quality issue, but they stand behind what they sell) but it is to the point that I will look for another shoe. If they sold for $15, I would understand, but not at this price, these things should happen. I'm not sure about other Deer Stags, this is the only one I have tried. The Brown version holds up much better than the black.

The quality of these shoes gets worse every year. The soles are literally glued on and after two months of having them they are disbonding already. Terrible quality.
