My son says the shoe is very comfortable. But it doesn't wear well. They last him only about 5 months before they fall apart.

My son loves these shoes, finds them very comfortable. However, they do not wear for very long - they start falling apart after about 5 months of daily wear.

Toe box feels a little short and narrow. Shoe scuffs easily. Bought to wear with semi formal coat and tie.

I loved the low key look of these shoes, black soles and light weight. They are a mix of leather and man made materials (isn't everything anymore?). The sales clerk assured me I needed these in wide although I always wear medium or narrow. She wasn't accurate in that statement and I was a fool to follow her guidance, and wore them to work 1 day which makes them un returnable. My wife believes I should give them a chance to "break in", so I'm hopeful but skeptical.

I am wearing them for the first time today. I tried to match up a pair of other shoes to them when I purchased these. The photo was a bit deceptive but for the most part they are okay. I would not buy them again though.

These shoes looked and felt very nice straight out of the box. Unfortunately the finish bubbled up and peeled off after wearing them about a dozen times.

It is a very comfortable pair of shoes and its perfect to work in, the only issue is that quality of the materials use for the shoe must be of low quality because after two or three months they start falling apart, the sole rips off, and other parts of the shoe start breaking. I’ve bought numerous of these shoes because they look good and the feel good, but they really don’t last.

They were comfortable to stand in, but walking was uncomfortable because they felt at least a half size too big, if not a whole size. I stumbled in them and felt like my feet were sloshing about in them.

Brown shoes are more of a reddish brown. Length is right, but feels very big overall inside - like my feet are floating around inside. Reasonable amount of cushioning. Material is like a pleather and showing creases after first wear. Overall not bad for the price but can't say I love them.

My initial impressions of this shoe were very positive - good fit, look to be made of good materials, very good looks - but just yesterday, the heel detached from the rest of the sole of the shoe, on both shoes. i haven't examined the bottom to see exactly what is broken from what, but that's what it looks like from the sides of the shoes. The shoes are still wearable (for now at least), but I have switched to another pair of shoes in case the shoe totally falls apart. Granted I am a 400 lb. man, but I don't remember ever having this happen to a pair of shoes before. It's too bad, as the shoes looked very good and felt fairly comfortable.

Ordered these in a 16 for my son. Yes, that's the size he wears. But they were HUGE! There was at least 2 extra inches of shoe that he didn't take up. They seemed well made, but can't really tell you how the arch supports were or if they were comfortable since he didn't get to wear them.

Cheap, plastic shoes. There is no real leather in these. They are stiff and not comfortable at all.

I am an expert on this model of Deer Stag. I have purchased 5 pair over 12 years and they have stayed the same look over all that time. The price went down slightly about 6 years ago at the same time that the manufacturing quality seemed to decline. I wear these shoes out in about 2-3 years. They have no metal shank so are good for TSA at the airport and they look ok for a uniform I must wear. The first two pair held together well with no complaints and lasted 3 years of continuous use, then they started lasting only 2 years each. Starting with the 3 rd pair bought 6 years ago, which was 3 times ago, they wore out on the top of the heel opening when the stitching totally came apart and they started to aggravate my Achilles. 2 times ago the glue between the sole and the upper completely gave out and the shoe separated at a very inconvenient time. Last time around the heal caved in so I sank a half inch in height, which was very uncomfortable on my heal. Different problems for each of the last 3 pair, which only lasted about 2 years each. I keep buying them because they are inexpensive. Problem is, this current imported manufacturer seems to have found ways to also make them cheap, with short cuts and materials that are not as durable, and glue that is too sparse. If this current pair doesn't last any longer than the 24 months of the Last 3 I will have to find a different brand....time will tell.

I bought these because I have a very wide foot and wear orthotics. The removable foot bed allowed me to insert my orthotics. The foot bed has a strange plug that goes down into the heel and I did have to cut it out and put it back into the heel opening. These are meant for dress but I wear them daily and they are not meant for this. They are nice looking but not sturdy at all. The upper toe got scraped and revealed what appears to be cardboard.

Very comfortable shoes, but don't expect them to last more than a few months. Have had more than one pair wear out in about 3 months.

I have bought 3 pairs of brown deer stag times shoe over the past four years. As a project manager I am constantly on my feet and these shoes always are comfortable for the first 5 or 6 months - then a crack always appears in the sole where the heel is attached. If they weren't so comfortable, I wouldn't keep buying them - but I am caught between a rock and a hard place - comfort and price vs buying overpriced shoes that might last a little longer. Funny thing I have a pair of their black Deer Stag Times and they have lasted me for 3 years without any issues.

I bought these for a wedding in July and they were wonderful. I decided to make them my everyday work shoes as they were so comfortable. By November after wearing them four days a week every week they started falling apart. The outside of the right shoe had begun to separate from the sole for about three inches along the seam. I then noticed the same thing on the outside of the left heel but in a much smaller area, say about an inch long. I do not think I would buy these again for daily wear. If you are going to wear them once a week for a night out then they would be great and will probably last you a couple years. For daily wear I would look someplace else unless you don't mind buying new shoes every 4 to 6 months. Three stars for comfort, wish I could give 2.5 as build quality is very important to me and I like my shoes to last a couple years.

This shoe lasted a fair bit longer than I had expected it to after receiving it. I bought it in October and it lasted essentially until the end of August. I'm satisfied with the shoe considering its price point; however, it's still a "cheap shoe." The entire shoe has almost no rigidity whatsoever, so I was expecting it to crack and buckle across the area below the ball of my foot; however, it lasted until the soft rubber outsole had worn almost down to the leather. The main fault was the fact that the outsole is extremely soft and is simply glued to the bottom of the shoe. The stereotypical cheap-leather coated finish adhered better than I expected (probably because I had polished the shoe), but there are still spots where it had torn and started to blister in the last months of use. I have flat feet, so I was expecting the very soft shoe to have very limited arch support, but it was pleasantly comfortable to wear, though I no longer have to spend lots of time standing in order to really find out just how good they are. The lack of rigidity caused the leather to crease across the surface below the quarter (where the eyelets are) within a month of light use.

The cut on the side of the shoe is a bit high causing it to bump my ankle bone when I walk. I put some odor eaters in and it helped considerably, and will probably pick up some inserts. The laces that are provided with the shoe are goofy-long, making the shoe difficult to tie without dragging the laces.

These are cheap shoes. You don't pay this price expecting to get a great shoe that will last a long time. When you open the box, they smell like new tires, not new shoes. The sole is actually pretty good, and they look good when they're new. Just be careful not to scuff them on any concrete stairs. Have owned a few pair and have not experienced the shoe falling apart, but the finish did peel on my last pair. But again, they're cheap.

Compared to the last pair of dressier shoes I reviewed, these are a much better match for me. My major criticism of the dress shoe category is that they offer no padding and are inflexible. Also worth mention is the shoe laces feel like they are made of plastic and have virtually no give. Other than that I believe I will be happy with these shoes.
