I like this shoe. I wear a 9 EEEE shoe, and this 9 xw fit great. It seems to run about a 1/2 size large, but that was fine. It's got a great finish to the leather, and seems to be holding up very well. As someone else mentioned, it will leave black marks on some floors (It did this a little in the grocery store). It does not leave marks on my home tile, or painted cement floor at work however. This shoe was exceptionally comfortable right from the start. I am very happy with my purchase.

I've owned this shoe in the past so was ordering a replacement. Very comfortable, and I think stylish, but I am concerned the material which was used on the majority of the top may not last long and they have been worn for about a month now and are already creased where they bend. Should be made out of leather instead of simulated leather to avoid this.

Good, low cost shoes that get the job done for the winter time. They scratch easily though. I have purchased a few pairs for the last few winters to get me through the nasty puddles and salt that destroy nicer shoes.

I wear these shoes with orthotics. They fit my wide feet very well. I used to wear Skechers Alley Cats, but they switched manufacturers a few years ago - the "leather" fell apart in a few weeks. These shoes are a different story. The leather is of good quality and is still holding up well after 8 months of hard wear. I walk 4-7 miles a day at work and I'm on my feet most of the day. The only negative is the rubber sole. The heel is wore down more quickly than expected and actually cracked on one shoe.

A great inexpensive work shoe. Nothing fancy about it, but it served my purpose pretty well. I am a manager in retail and spend most of my time on my feet. It took some time to break in, but once that happened they became the shoe that I wore when I had to do work that might mess up my shoes (such as moving product, fixtures, etc).

For people who want a padded insole and stiff sole for motion control this is pretty good. If you want to insert your own arch supports it doesn't work. Its insole has pad that extends down into a cutout in the heel. Remove that and there's a hole under the heel. Also the shoe runs a bit wide.

On the sole of the shoe, looks as if hardly worn. However, the top of shoe developed "blisters" and the covering of shoe started tearing and now I have holes in top of shoe. Very disappointed. I should be entitled to refund or replacement.

Overall these are pretty good shoes, I needed something that looked decent and were pretty comfortable. I have worn this brand before and have had no issues. For the price you cannot go wrong!

These shoes have been great for fit and control of some foot problems and room for orthotics. Unfortunately some cheap paper-like material inside the heel cup wears through very fast. I will probably reorder and have a shoemaker glue in better material. I hope Deer Stags will improve that wear spot.

This is the 3rd pair of the exact same shoes that I have purchased. They are dressy for business yet very comfortable; very reasonably priced as well. As long as they keep making them, I will keep replacing my worn out versions. By the way, I do a lot of walking!

Great value. Perfect shoes for airline crew members or airport employees who want a metal shank free shoe so they can go through airport metal detectors without having to take their shoes off.

These guys are stiff so far. They're beautiful and strong, but they're hurting my feet. I'm trying to break them in slowly and half a day a time, but the spot above the heel in the back is maybe kinda low.

Extremely comfortable, particularly after being broken in from wearing them the first few times. Very good looking, compared to most lug soled shoes available today. Finish does scuff relatively easily however, and is somewhat tough to properly restore with polish. Very good value for the money.

I love these shoes. They have been my work shoes for the past ten years. This is my fifth pair. A pair typically lasts me about 2 years of daily workday use. The comfort is what initially convinced me to buy and keep buying. I still can't find a better combination of style, comfort and price. Rubber soles and heels tend to scuff floors when new but gets better with time. I prefer to remove the insoles and add Spenco Crosstrainer insoles to maximize comfort. My local stores seem to be running low on stock, but Zappos had my size. Very pleased with Zappos shipping and service

I bought a pair of these and really enjoyed them. For the price they fit and feel wonderful. As I write this review I am purchasing my second pair because my first pair has got some bad scuffs and tears. Relatively short life, but for how cheap the price is, its well worth the fifty dollars!

I'm very happy with these shoes. As a pilot I go trough screening daily, and these shoes help me to expedite the process, look clean and are very comfortable. Great value for the money.

Fit true to size, definitely no shanks for getting through security. I felt like I might get some blisters on my heels for the first few days but didn't quite and now that they're broken in I'm quite happy with them. A cushier ride than my last shoes that were a standard black leather dress shoe.

When you need a simple, comfortable, black shoe for work, especially if you're on your feet much of the time, you could do a lot worse than these. The styling is basic and just formal enough for use everyday, and at the office. While I put full gel insoles in every pair of shoes, these bettered every other pair (even work boots) in terms of long-term comfort. Even after 12 hours on polished concrete floors, I had no foot discomfort. For the downsides, the Deer Stags do not compare with Red Wings or Doc Martens for construction or durability. After wearing daily for 4 months, the sole separated from the upper, on both shoes. And while the uppers were pretty resistant to scuffing, they did emit a disconcerting "plastic" squeak when rubbed. Leather feels and sounds better. Overall, a good choice, but wait until they're on sale.

The shoe looks great. While the collar around the shoe appears to be fully padded from the photo; the stitching above the heel is stiff enough that it chafes when walking a lot. I bought these a few weeks before a convention; thinking I would have time to "break them in" before going. It didn't work. Blisters and callouses after miles of walking. I think the shoe would be great for an occasional dress shoe, but isn't really built for day-in and day-out usage.
