Very comfortable, jury is out on looks.
I love them and they're comfy as heck, but my wife thinks they look cheap and my friend thinks they look bland. I'm my own master, so I'm going to walk around New York in them to my heart's content.

This is the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. No break-in needed. It has plenty of room in the toe area. The only improvement this shoe could get is a padded tounge. The tounge tends to roll under or slide back when you put your foot in. I WILL buy another pair.

Clark's Natureveldt -
These shoes are very comfortable. I like that they are plenty wide in the front, I have to use orthotics and they fit into these shoes very well. It seems that the heels are wearing fairly quickly though. I hope that slows down as the shoes wear in. Overall I am very happy with these so far and plan to buy another pair soon.

"New" Natureveldt sole design is big mistake.
I agree that the old Clark Natureveldt was one of the most comfortable shoe ever made. The problem is, you can't get them anymore. Clarks changed the inner and outer sole design a couple of years ago which has made the shoe stiff, heavy, and clunky. The old style sole (with round nub pattern on bottom of sole and rounded sole edges) was much more flexible, lighter, cooler, and comfortable than the new design. The change has had such a profound effect on the shoe, I don't think they should even call them Natureveldts any more, the name should have been changed as it's really a different shoe. I've owned both styles now, old and new, and will not buy another. I only wished I would have bought a lifetime's supply of the old style Natureveldt when they still made them. That shoe was the most durable and comfortable shoe I over owned. Too bad the adage no good thing lasts forever had to come true for the Clark Natureveldts. I'm saddened that I have to go search for a different shoe after having once possessed the perfect footwear. The old style felt like moccasins. Sad, I wonder what Clark Shoes was thinking?

Ugly but comfortable and durable -
My second pair was not quite as sturdy as my first pair but still they rank up there. Newer Clarks wear out on the inside in the back.

Very good shoe!
Initially I tried the Clarks Air Movers, but they were not available in my width. After finding out these were available in a wider shoe and had the same Active Air System as the Air Movers, I ordered a pair. While they are very comfortable, they do not look as nice as the Air Movers and do not seem to be quite as comfortable.

Wonderful to have to have the original Natureveldt back. But though the design is great, I had to have the local shoe repair shop restitch the tongue that was coming off after the first week.

I've been wearing Clarks Natureveldts for about thirty-five years. The quality continues to go down with each pair I purchase. Thickness of the leather is less. Laces wear out rapidly. Soles wear out faster. Innersoles disintegrate. I remain satisfied with the fit, wide toe box, and comfort, and the performance of the sole in wet conditions (pretty no-slip) but wish they would wear like in earlier days. Am I imagining this? I've still got a 25-year-old pair in the closet to compare with the new ones. Leather's hard, laces long ago used to replace junky quality new ones, same with innersoles, and my wife keeps on asking me why I don't throw them away. Why? I really don't know myself, except that I look at them with fond walking memories when my new and lesser models wear out.

I ordered these Clarks Natureveldts to replace a pair I previous purchased about 6 years ago. My previous pair were great shoes, they fit well, looked good, and were very comfortable; after six years of heavy use, however, the soles completely wore out. The new pair I ordered seemed like a completely different pair of shoes. The fit was different, they felt tighter, and the look of the shoe was also different. I didn't care for the new pair and returned them to Zappos for credit. Zappos is great for returns, making it quite simple. I was disappointed in the shoes (I currently own 3 other pairs of Clarks) but not in Zappos service.

Originals were amazing. Newer are not-so-great -
I have two pairs of Natureveldts. I bought the first pair about 5 years ago and still love to wear that shoe. Just purchased a new pair last week. The bend in the toe is different - much more narrow than the older pair, which makes them less comfortable. Noticed that they are now made in China. I also picked up a pair of the unstructured (un.bend). Much better. For these two reasons, I likely will not purchase another pair of Natureveldt again.

Not the same shoe, a big disappointment -
I have owned several pairs of these shoes in the past 25 years. They were always comfortable the minute I put them on and the durability has been outstanding, but alas, this is not the same shoe. The shoe has changed its footbed and the tongue is flimsy and uncomfortable. After many years, I took back the latest pair I purchased, tried on another pair and decided I'll have to find another for everyday wear.

Clarks Natureveldt -
This may be about my 6th pair of Natureveldts. However, the quality and comfort of this shoe has greatly gone downhill. The color was also disappointing, not at all natural looking. The shoe was much stiffer and not the Clarks I have grown to love. I hoping that the pair I purchased was just a fluke. Anyone else have this experience?

Inconsistent Quality...
I bought two pairs about one week apart. Much to my displeasure there is a very marked difference in quality between the two pairs. While one pair is everything I've come to expect from Clarks, the second pair is very disappointing for shoes costing as much as these did.

Blistered Heels -
Size on my previous 2 pair of Clarks was right on. This pair is snug and the back of the shoes have blistered my heels. I am disgusted I couldn't find an exact replacement for the two pair I have worn out.

The main issue with this shoe is the change in design and quality ever since Clarks moved production to China (the shoe was originally made in England and later in Portugal). Clarks outsourced and basically "reinvented" the shoe, but not in a good way. The sole is now thinner, the leather quality lower, and the shoe is smaller. I will not buy this model anymore - or at least until Clarks restores the design and quality it used to be. My previous Natureveldts from England and Portugal - and the quality was way superior to the Chinese ones.

Lower Quality -
This is the poorest quality Natreveldt shoes that I have ever purchased. Although they are made in China, there is no reason why the quality should have suffered so much. The leather is lightweight, the tongue is very thin and not entirely Zappos fault, you should communicate this to Clarks! I will not repurchase this shoe in the future. The fit, however, is good.

Shoes untrue to size -
Purchased these shoes in March, they were very uncomfortable from day one. I had the shoes stretched...still no help. This is my fifth pair of this brand and these do not feel at all as comfortable as the others. I had to toss them in the closet and flushed $ down the toilet.

Not all that happy -
I just purchased my 5th pair of Nat's. I am kinda disappointed. I didn't get the automatic comfort like the past. I'm a barber and on my feet all day, Nat's were my life line. Now I don't know. My old ones are wider with better materials. This is a sad day for the Clark Company.

Squeek, squeek, squeek -
Extremely well-made and comfortable shoes, with a bold casual look. The sole is very robust. However it drives you nuts with its squeeking with every step you take.

Comfortable, but too-wide looking shoe -
The Natureveldt is a comfortable shoe. I bought it to wear to work (business-casual) and have been impressed with how comfortable my toes feel in the shoe. I am used to wearing shoes that look slimmer than the Natureveldt and therefore am not used to the wide appearance of the shoe. If you like shoes with a wide toe box, then this is an excellent choice. Personally, I probably will return to a slimmer looking shoe with my next purchase.

Mine fell apart -
I'm on my third pair of Clarks Natureveldt and the first two pairs were great. The most recent began to fall apart less than a year into my wearing them and by 18 months, they look like something fit for the garbage bin. The toes have come apart on both shoes, finish has not held up under normal wear and I consider them overpriced and of lower quality than their previous efforts. I would not recommend buying this particular shoe.

They are true to length, but slightly narrower than UK or Portugal made Nature/Natureveldt. Leather quality is a significant downgrade from original model, lighter, thinner and painted vs oil dyed full grain. Slightly more solid than other "new" Clarks...but no longer a "decade" shoe...I have another Vietnam-made pair and 2-3 years seem to be about right. The footbeds are inferior and do fall apart...so I had a cobbler make me cork and leather insoles and feel way better. Soles cracked after 2-3 years...could re-sole but tops look worn out (vs worn in of Original Clarks). Overall, a decent shoe for todays budget market, IF it fits you (Wide (G) is much narrower now, more like an "E"). For something similar to the original Natureveldt, look at the Finn Comfort Vaasa/more expensive to buy, but will last 10+years with insole/sole replacement and with better comfort and less foot problems. Glad that there are still options. One of the Original Clarks factories in Ireland is still making some of the other models too (but not the Veldt).
I'd also recommend:
Finn Comfort, Loake, Joseph Siebel, Church, Merrell, Altra, Topo Athletic, Allen Edmonds, Nick's.

As others have noted, not the same Clark's Natureveldt that we loved in the past. Little is the same, even the last seems to have changed and no longer fits my hard-to-fit foot. The tongue is as thin as paper and folds under when you put it on. A once exceptional shoe is now sub-par. Forget them.

Warning! These are not the Clarks of the 1980 and 1990s. They are now made in China, and the new manufacturer has reduced the quality of materials and likely the production process itself. The name brand lives on, but real Clarks shoes are apparently gone.
