No other option - There is no other option than using Zappos for your shoe needs, and there is no other choice for comfort than birkenstock clogs. I have worked in a kitchen for 8 years on my feet 12 hours a day and I have finally found a shoe I can stay comfortable in all day.

Nice kitchen shoes - I find they are the most comfortable shoes I have worn in the kitchen, and trust me I have been through a lot of pairs, and they last the longest.

Love the shoe - These are great shoes in many respects. They are a breeze to keep clean. I spent 10-12 hours a day in a commercial kitchen 5-6 days a week. I have 3 other pair of Burks but for what I do this is the best pair. I love Burks and they are basically the only shoe I wear. My legs don't burn and my feet don't hurt at the end of the day. They don't slip on water and I like the look. Your feet do tend to sweat a little more. I have worn them with and without socks. At the end of the day the socks come off. Both ways are fine. I didn't notice an odor with the extra sweating. I possess hobbit feet, very wide and flat. The shoes fit me great. I didn't order a size down like other reviews suggested, that was the right choice. If your feet are exta wide and tend to swell order your normal size.

Big Big but comfortable after a cheap fix - I had a friend deliver these to me in Mexico for the rainy season, but although I ordered my regular Birk size, they turned were WAY too big. With no way to return them, I thought putting ordinary shoe inserts in would help. It didn't, because the Birk sole is shaped so different. Then I remembered a large piece of black felt I had. I removed the Birk insole and traced around it then cut out my custom insoles. I lightly rubber-cemented layers of felt together until the shoe fit perfectly when my custom insole was inserted under the birk insole. After wearing for an hour or so, I removed both insoles and checked areas where my custom insole was a bit too wide or long. The solution was incredible. The felt molds to the shape of your foot, like the Birkenstock. If you have one foot that is larger, you can use one less layer or two of felt. It adds additional support and cushioning without being spongy.

Great purchase - I ordered 2 sizes smaller than what I normally wear, and it was a perfect fit. I am a chef, and the shoes mean a great deal. They are super comfortable and extra tough. I recommended them to all my friends and will continue to buy them myself for a long time.

I wear my Birkenstock Professional Clogs everyday to work at my restaurant. I am a chef and I am always looking for a comfortable shoe to wear. Now that I have tried the Birkenstock Professional Clog, my search for a comfortable work shoe is over. I recommend this shoe to anyone in the food service industry in need of a comfortable shoe that supports your arch and does not slide.

Seriously? Beware, these were huge! I wear a 7.5 or 8 and had to order a size 4! Overall, I like the shoe as I am in surgery all day long and these will work great.

Shoes were 2 sizes too large, with reading the reviews I ordered 1 size smaller and they were way too big.

To get the proper fit, I had to order two full sizes below what I normally wear. Now that I've done that, it is a very comfortable fit.

Unfortunately, these clogs were just way too wide to stay on my feet. I have average width feet, not particularly narrow or wide. I thought about getting a size smaller, but then I realized that my toe was in fact right at the end of the shoe. So I\'ve returned them.

As an RN working 13-16 hr shifts, foot comfort is a must. The Birki's take a while getting used to, but after a day or so, they are awesome. My back pain has actually improved, I think, because Birki's are more supportive and cause you to use different muscles. The drawback is sweaty feet, which I manage with wool socks over support hose. LOVE shoes made in Germany! LOVE Zappos!

OK, I have worn Danskos for 12 years wanted a change I wear a 41 in Danskos, so I got a 41 too big needed a 40 and I have wide feet normally wear a 9 in ladies. Anyways, these shoes are just like Crocs sweaty and not for long hours.

I was hoping to wear these at work instead of heavy Danskos. Ordered a size down so I could wear it with pantyhose. It was still so loose I stepped out of it. It is a light comfortable clog. Meant for standing not for walking. Good for gardening. I had a pair years ago.

The first day I put them on I thought they felt weird. I heard that you have to break them in so I went with it. Normally I buy 20 Crocs from the local outlet and I must say I have never been disappointed. I decided to go with something different thinking more money must mean better quality; boy was I wrong! yes the shoe is better quality but I feel that my feet hurt more than before, the insole inside moves quite frequently and there is no breathability! I take my shoes off at the end of the day (I'm a chef 12+ hours a day) and I can literally pour sweat out of the shoe, not to mention the more you sweat the more your feet slide inside the shoe. I have never had this issue with Crocs and I wish that I'd saved my money.

I was really hoping these shoes would fit. I have a long, narrow foot and they felt short and way too wide and just uncomfortable. I got on recommendation from someone who has short, wide, feet and she loves them, so I guess I should have known they would not work for me. I need something for the culinary industry and these would have fit the bill if they fit right.

Read a lot about Birkenstock shoes and how they are great for nurses, had been wearing Dansko clogs forever and they weren't working out. I thought I would try something new. These were much much worse than my Danskos. I am a nurse and stand all day (12+ hours), my feet hurt so bad, even until the next day when I woke up. Top that off, they are too hot, and don't breathe. Still on a hunt for that magical shoe, but for now, these ones go on the shelf to collect dust (can't return 'em). Keep shopping is my advice.

I bought these for my husband in 2010. Three years later, they had survived general surgery chief residency, and an excruciating transplant surgery fellowship. I'm pretty sure that they have been worn for more hours standing that the average person stands in a decade. We did have to replace the insoles once (which really is where the support comes from), which is a cost savings from buying a whole new pair, but the outside has held up just fine. We bought these shoes to replace a pair of Danskos that had given my husband a fracture on the top of his foot. He couldn't be happier with these shoes. Has no more foot, knee, or back pain since he started working in them. The only reason we are purchasing a new pair right now, is because we stuck them in the autoclave (after reading vicious rumors online), and they melted. FYI: Birkis Professional are not auto-clave safe!

Aging Chemist - I'm a middle age chemist who is on her feet sometimes eight hours a day standing on a concrete floor. By the end of the day my legs and especially my knees are usually killing me. This shoe seems to be the perfect for my work environment while also offering comfort and support. Only complaint, is that it runs large. I ordered a 39 based on some of my old Birki's / Birkenstocks that I still have and love. I usually wear an 8W in American sizing. However, these were large on my foot. I'm returning and trying the next size down, which I hope work as I really like these.

Good Shoe For Work, Bad For Long Walks - As everyone else suggested, I chose a size smaller than I normally wear when ordering Birki’s Professional Clog. When it arrived, I immediately tried it on, but my feet are a little wide and the shoe was just snug enough that I knew it would rub the sides of my feet and would be uncomfortable. So, I called Zappos, let them know I needed a size larger and they came lightning fast. Although the size I re-ordered is a little big on my feet, it's actually comfortable wearing them like that. They give your feet some room to breathe and I think it makes you walk more like if you were actually barefoot. Now, the reason my review states that they are comfortable for work, but bad for long walks is the following: I work in a professional kitchen and they are super-non slip, comfortable as could be, etc., but in the kitchen, the majority of walking is done in small steps. When I walk, however, I take long strides and the nature of the shoe isn't (as far as I can tell) for that kind of use. Although, as they get worn in they might become more comfortable, for the time being I wear a pair of sneakers to school and change into the Birki's once I've arrived. I highly recommend this to anyone that spends long hours working the line somewhere.

There is nothing better than the Birkinstock Professional clog when it comes to working in a kitchen. 14 hour days without sore feet or legs and at the end of the shift you can send the shoes through the dish machine. Average life of these shoes for me is 2 years. This is pair number four for me, and I will never switch as long as they keep making them.

Chef - I have been wearing my Birkies for around 15 months for 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. I have worn boots, shoes and I find these are just THE most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. My feet are never sore, like they used to be. I endorse these shoess 100% and push for all my apprentises to buy them. I never slip, never slide, and can hose them off when they get dirty. You can't get better shoes. Race down and buy them now!
