laura.... I used to love these boots... but then they went to China.... Hands down inferior compared to the boots made in England. My last pair had a sticker from Laura... assuring their quality.... now they are made in China... fall apart... and HURT...

my thoughts - The boot fails to hold up to construction work. I have had my boots for 3 short mounths and the left boot has a hole on the top in the boot crease. The soles are good the insold is good. The break in time is longer then expected overall I would not buy this boot again.

I have no problem at all with Zappos but I do with these boots. I have been wearing Dr. Martens religiously for almost thirty years. These model boots for almost 15. It's a real shame that their quality has really gone to crap. This is the second pair in a row that the leather has split and ripped open on the inside of each boot where the bottom of the inside lace area meets the toe section. I'm not just talking about a small split or tear. I'm talking like over a 1" rip right through to the inside. This is the second pair its happened to and within 4 months of purchase. I used to be able to wear these boots and other Dr. Martens boots until the bottoms wore off practically. I will be contacting Dr. Martens directly as well and probably will discontinue wearing their products. I hate to do it but I will no longer pay this much for garbage.

I've owned a lot of Doc's but I tell you in the last five years the quality of these boots have gone down hill dramatically, I used to get three years out of a set of work boots I'm lucky to get just over a year out of the last two pairs I've owned! Very disappointing I still have a pair that are 15 years old that hold out better than my new ones. The last pair I had of these the soles split from from the shoes same with the last pair very sad for this company to fall so far so fast! I just switched to Red Wing work boots let see how well they work. I tried to stay with these boots but failed two times in the past two years, if you're looking for a boot that looks good but can't take any normal abuse buy them, if you want a work boot go somewhere else.

Not durable at all. Doc Martens quality control has really fallen through the floor. My first pair lasted 8 years, this pair lasted 8 months.

I just got these boots, size 9 in black. It was the first time I ordered anything from Zappos. I felt very confident ordering, since they have such a flexible return policy. The boots arrived in 2 days! I am a size 9, sometimes 9 1/2, and I have a lot of trouble with the calves of boots being roomy enough to tuck-in pants. I was going to order the 9 1/2s, but they were out of stock, so I ordered size 9. They are actually a perfect fit AND they are roomy enough around the calf so that I can tuck-in jeans. I haven't worn these boots out of the house, but I found them VERY comfortable while walking around in the house. They also seem very warm. I have a pair of UGG Rainier's (The only UGGS that fit my calves, since they are short) and these are just as comfortable and just as cute for half the price! I'll use Zappos again, no doubt!

I've owned over 40 pair of Dr. Martens throughout my life. I loved these shoes, and I felt good that this company did not use sweat shops to manufacture their shoes. These are my last pair of Doc's as the quality of the shoe has been lost in mass production and the price has stayed high even though the price of labor has gone down.

Dr. Martens are no better than just cheap Nikes now... I've been loyal to the Dr. Marten 8-eye for over 15 years... and now they're MADE IN CHINA!!!! Good to know that a symbol of my life can also be outsourced to China. I will never buy a pair of Docs ever again and I'll be sure that my friends don't either. Where's the loyalty Doc?!?!?!

NEVER ever buy another Dr. Martens MADE IN CHINA !!! I used to be Madly in Love with Dr Martens, I was betrayed... and I would NEVER buy another Martens made in CHINA. This is a shoe that was reduced from an Icon to a Chinese piece of ruber... Please anybody who has the same feelings bothering him Never Buy Another Martens made in China. NEVER NEVER.....
