Outstanding - I wanted a comfortable work boot, and new that Dr. Martens were comfortable casual shoes, so I figured what the heck. Some of the best money that I have ever spent.

Docs - I ordered a size seven in womens and they're huge! If anyone is going to order these, just order them a size smaller if you're more interested in how they look.

Nice shoes - They break in slow and painfully but overall the purchase has worked out well. They're starting to feel fine to me. I applied mink oil to prevent salt and snow from destroying them and they still look pretty good.

Found it cheaper at Doc Marten's online store. This shoe was 119.95 USD (free shipping) at Doc Marten's online store. I'm going elsewhere.

Great design, but not typical Martens quality - I've owned a few Dr. Martens over the years. I needed something that would be acceptable for my work (law enforcement) but still be cool. ^_^ this design is similar to what a lot of officers wear because of the cap toe design and safety toe, but a little more rugged. The one thing that I do not like is the quality of the leather. One shoe is perfect after wearing them for a couple weeks, but the other has a lot of wrinkles as if the very top of the leathers surface is separating from underneath. AFTER 2 WEEKS!!! It's not regularly noticeable but I know it's there and kinda bugs me. This probably has something to do with the fact that they are made in China... The other thing is I barely bumped it on some stairs and it put a small slice in the leather. Breaking them in will take some time so buy a box of band aid's while you are at it. Overall it's a great looking shoe that looks a bit tougher than it really is, I just wish the quality of the leather was a little better. Also, order this a size smaller than normal.

Quality not as good when made in china - Well as the title states, these are made in China. You can imagine how the quality drops when they are made in sweatshops. So I'm dissappointed there. Nowhere near as comfortable as my old pair of Docs, which I guess have been discontinued :( . the look of these are awesome...but the comfort isnt a Dr. Marten boot. But I do have to give Zappo's a hand. 2nd day delivery for free, that is sweet. Best online shoe store, ever!!!
I'd also recommend:
if you dont mind the comfort being below par, get any dr. martens....the looks are the best.

Happy with Zappos, dissappointed with Dr.M - First let me say that I was very pleased with Zappos service and internet presentation of the boots that I purchased. I ordered on Wednesday and the free shipping put them in my office on Friday. I like the look of the boots. They took a few wears to break the discomfort for they are very stiff. I have been buying Dr. Martens since 1996 when a friend picked me up a pair in London. I buy at least one pair of boots or shoes a year. This is the first pair that I bought that were made in CHINA. This is dissappointing because the quality has suffered. If I knew that I was paying over $120 for mass produced China-made boots, I would not have bought them. "Doc Marten, please reconsider jobbing out your boots to sweatshops"

These boots rock! They're a bit tough during the break in period, but you'll get to love them. Very comfortable, and wearing all black all the time, they look great. Being a drummer, they really protect my feet, and they aren't too heavy, so I can jam my double bass all night long. GREAT SHOES! Heavily reccomended

Cute - I ordered them a size too big the first time, they're still a little large. They look nice and are lightweight. They're pretty comfortable, but it would probably be best to wear thick socks with them.

Evidently, I'm in the minority with my review. Everyone seems to love this boot. I have tried and tried but, this is the most uncomfortable boot I have ever owned. I purchased these in April of 2012. I only wear them maybe a ½ dozen times a year because I simply cannot stand to wear them. They are still as stiff and hard today as the day I first took them out of the box.I originally bought them for work boots. They are just too uncomfortable for that. They are a very nice looking boot though.

These are absolutely horrible. They are the most uncomfortable boots that I have ever had the displesure of putting on my feet. They came out of the box rock hard, super stiff leather, no inner sole and no room to add an insert without making them hurt even more. I tried breaking them in for three weeks - three weeks of pure agony, yet they were not much better. I finally ripped them off my feet with disgust and donated them to a charity. I kind of felt guilty for passing on the torment. I would not reccomend these to my worst enemy. Zappos does not allow you to edit the stars, so I will tell you. I would give these zero stars for comfort and maybe a one star overall, just because, all they have going for them is, they look pretty cool. Four stars for style.

They\'re great looking, but you better try them on in person. I have a high instep and couldn\'t even get my feet into them.

Not bad - I always thought Doc Martens were renowned for the quality of their boots. I heard many people say that they have had their Doc Martens for years, but from the looks of these, it doesn't seem like they'll hold up for longer than a year and 1/2. Honestly don't think they’re worth the price.

Cool but NOT foot friendly.... these docs are very cool looking, great with jeans. For people that want comfort? Steer clear. These are not for long walks or long days. Nope. The soul just does not have the bounce of other models. The look is the thing. Very heavy.

Pain pain and more pain! - I love Dr. Martens, but man do they hurt! Despite what was a fairly long "breaking in" period on Docs I've had in the past, these boots just don't want to budge. I have the appropriate size (same as always) but even with the heaviest socks these boots have given me painful blisters on my heels and the bottoms of my feet. It hurts so much I always end up walking funny. Good looking shoes, but it hurts too much to wear them.

I wore these boots for 11 hours in school and they are hard to break in. The boots turned my feet into a jambalayas. They were all red and like bowling I had to put 9 band aids on the front and back of my feet.

Ouch! I've had a dozen different pairs of Docs over the last 10 years and I've always had great experiences, but...These things are killing my feet. Nice fat blister on my foot above my heel from a half day's use. That said, Zappos is an INCREDIBLE business and "gets it!" Do not hesitate to do business with them.

Beware - I love Docs, this was my 5th pair and might be my last. They were horrible to break in, I had blisters all over my feet and on my ankles, not to mention after only 6 months the steel toes were starting to show. Once they were broken in they feel great (even today) after 18 months, but the steel in one of them is ready to tear away from the rest of the boot, so the moral of the story is try them without the steel, or dont wear them for working construction/retail

Gorgeous boots but very painful - I bought these boots because I love the look of them, and I love Doc Martens. But, these were so painful to wear. There is no arch support, and they weigh so much that they really wear your calves out. I keep wearing them because they look so cool, even though I kick them off as soon as I get home.

Fashion Boots - The only black souled Dr. Marten's and they're fashion boots... I've never been a fan, but was pressured into buying them. Made my girl happy. The leather seems to be pretty cheap, but that maybe because it's still new. The soul is pretty soft on them and I'm already starting to tear up the front tread. Because the soul is soft they're super comfortable. They're not too bad on the motorcycle. It could use a little more flex in the ankle.

Good but not perfect - Everyone knows that you are supposed to beat the hell out your Docs and they will stand up to it. Mine have not, I have worn mine everyday for the past 2 years and taken good care of them in the meantime, but there is huge slit in the leather now. fyi--there is such a thing as over-use
