These are fantastic shoes, but when buying them one needs to understand that they wear differently. They are heavy and they have kind of a demanding structure to them. But if you can stick it out and wear them for three weeks, you'll love them. I also think the quality is still high, not really understanding the reviews saying that the Chinese production is crap. Perhaps those people just received lemon shoes. They're great. If you used to wear them and loved them, you'll love these. So glad I got them.

Awesome, awesome shoes! Docs take a short while to break in, but it is so worth the work. A couple of weeks and they fit like a glove. Well-made. Stylish. Iconic. Perfect for undercover office punks. My only wish is that they came in half sizes. 11 is a hair's breadth too big, and 10 is too small.

Love these. I was worried they would be stiff and uncomfortable to wear at first, but these are super comfy right out of the box.

I got the Doc Martens 1925 in a bid to find some professional-looking yet comfortable shoes that I could wear at a new job. I broke my ankle and dislocated my foot in a mud run 3 years ago, and, ever since then, I've had trouble finding shoes that are both comfortable, stylish and good enough for professional events. These shoes have been comfortable from Day 1. And the sole provides the exact post-injury comfort that I found and loved in certain athletic shoes. Had told myself that if these worked, I was getting the boots this Fall - and that will definitely happen!

I've been very happy so far with these. Not sure how they will survive this winter. They look great and fit quite well, although I definitely recommend brief wears for a week or so to break them in. Yes, as others have pointed out, you have to be okay with a certain retro/clown quality to them, but that's part of the appeal for me. I've gotten a lot of compliments when I wear them, but I suspect some of those people are just haters making fun of me behind my back. Whatever. I take comfort in the knowledge that I can kick them mercilessly with these steel toed Docs. The steel toe makes them heavy though, so if you walk a lot during your day it's sometimes like untying two bricks from your feet when you get home; which is a sensation I kind of enjoyed for some reason. Go figure.

This is a well made, quality leather, shoe. Real leather here, they don't come out of the box broken in. I'm wearing these for about 3 weeks now and they feel great. They were super stiff the first few days. A little on the heavy side; however, a great shoe I'd recommend to friends and family.

Love the shoe, love the look. My only problem is that it seems to run big. Very big. I am a size 8 and ordered what was labeled "US size 8" but they are huge on me. So large walking in them gave me serious blisters on both of my heels. I wore them a second time and wore two pairs of socks with them which helped a bit. They are great shoes though and I can tell they are very well made and sturdy construction. They will last a lifetime I'm sure. I'm hoping that once I break them in they will be comfortable. I will have to buy really thick socks.

Finally had to "break down" and buy another pair. The 1460's I bought 12 years ago are still going strong, but I really like the look of the 1925's. Bought my first pair of 10 eyes back in 1987 and haven't looked back since. Shoes come and go, but I can honestly say this is always money well spent. Since China is now licensed to produce them, I can't comment until I've worn them a while and come to my own conclusions. Out of the box, they appear to be of very similar quality. I guess time will tell.

Great steel toe shoes -
The Dr. Martens 1925 series steel toe shoe is by far one of the most comfortable work shoes I've owned over the years and looks great too. There was no break in time as I have read in some reviews, I literally put them on out of the box, got on a plane and spent the next 3 days wearing them for work.

Love these shoes, been wearing them for years. Sturdy, hold up well over time, BUT the leather does stretch quite a bit, so if they fit perfect when you get them, they will end up a little large. Also, don't forget that you'll get BAD blisters the first week or 2 (I always wear 2 pairs of thinner socks when I first break them in to avoid that)

Dress or Casual - nice for both -
I'm a big fan of Doc Martens, but these are the first shoes (instead of boots) I've bought from them. Very nice, very comfortable. I can wear them as dress or casual.

Being a lorry driver I need comfortable shoes with steel toe-caps, I find Doc Martens very comfortable and hard wearing, wouldn't wear anything else, great quality for the price.

Awesome.
I really like like these shoes a lot deffinitely the most comfortable dress shoes I have ever worn. They do scuff easy and I need to polish them, but I am a stickler about those things. They are a real big shoe. I would deffinitely say about a full size larger than marked.

DM's Rule!
I have been wearing the DM shoes for many many years and they are the best shoe out there! I like both the oxford and boot look. I even have a pair of DM's in the wing-tip design. I especially enjoy the DM's with a steel toe - I would like to see more of a selection in steel toe DM's. Thanks DM for a great shoe!

Good looking shoe -
I'm on my feet most of the day and these Docs have performed nicely. After the initial break in period, they have become my favorite steel toe shoe and I'm actually wearing them outside of work. They are lightweight and you shouldn't tire if on your feet all day. Plus the look is great as they go with just about everything. If you need a shoe that works well on a production floor and also in a business casual office enviroment, then these are your shoes.

Simply the best -
After a short breaking in period, these are the most comfortable shoes ever!! I wear them to tend bar for a 10 hour shift. I finally had to replace them after 12 years and that was only because the tops wore out, the souls looked as good as the day I bought them. however, do not wear these shoes when traveling, as they set off the metal detector at the airport.

I've worn Doc Martens all my life. I was born with ankle problems and wore the 10 hole boot's all my childhood. My ankle's are fine now but I still wear the steal toe shoes every day to work. On greasy oily floors they are awsome. Truly a non-slip shoe. The hiking style tread type proved to become a little hard on the feet after wear, but the regular original sole is still a great wearing shoe. Don't be put off by the initial tightness, without this there would not be any support once broken in. Then they fit like a catcher's glove.

Best safety shoes ever.
I’ve been wearing these shoes for 2 years. I was looking for a new pair, and can't find them in Ontario, Canada at the moment. I had mine refurbished and they look like new although I still want another pair.

Given how much I paid for the shoes, I was really disappointed in them. I have never owned steel toed shoes before, but it was a bad choice. These shoes are very narrow at the point where the steel toe starts. This constantly digs into my little toe and the toe next to it. They are also very heavy shoes. With the lack of support my feet are aching pretty bad by the end of the day. I cannot wear them anymore so in the end it was a waste of money dollars.

I wanted to love these shoes but they were too tight, too squeaky on wood floors, and they don't have removable insoles. Hard to fit orthotics in if you can't remove the insole.

I have a 3-year old pair of "Dr. Martens Work: Hawk SD 4 Eye Shoe" that have been excellent for working outside: well-padded, tough, thick comfortable insole, largely waterproof, flexible, steel safety toe. These new 1925s are just as ugly with none of the good attributes. Thin hard insole, stiff, unpadded, cheap-feeling, just plain uncomfortable. Even stupider, there is a little tag stitched into the insole right where your heel goes, warning you not to rely on the steel toe for safety. OK, warn me, but not with stitching under my heel. I will give them some more time to see if they break in, but for now I dislike them.

These are super stiff and hard to break in. I am only wearing them once a week for now because they hurt my feet.
