I'm a restaurant manager, and these shoes were excellent shoes for work...for the first 3 weeks. Then they started falling apart. The uppers are still in good condition, but the soles have gone completely flat and have huge cracks throughout. I used to wear these shoes for a year without a problem, and now they haven't even made it a month.

I had ordered a 9, my normal size, but had to get an 8

Nice and wide for my feet (usually a women's WW). Apparently this leather is softer than the "smooth", and feel comfortable already. I'm a womens 7.5 to 8, but the men's 6/women's 7 fit me. First tried my typical size, was too big, so returned for these.

Just what my granddaughter wanted!

Purchased these to replace a similar pair that I had to get rid of after about 15 years. Same size fits perfectly, and seems to be more comfortable out of the box than expected. Looking forward to another 15 years with this pair!

Fit was exactly as I’d hoped for and these were comfortable right out of the box. The leather is good quality and the shoes are not too heavy. Extremely happy with my purchase.

I don't think you can ever go wrong with Dr. Martens. They are very comfortable, and I wear them for anything. Best purchase ever

The dr. Marten 1461 is a great shoe. Goes well with jeans or business casual. Best part is they last for years. My last pair are 10 years old. Has a couple week break in period, and after that they are good to go. If your looking for a durable shoe, that goes with pretty much any style, these are the shoes to get!!!!

Great comfortable shoe. A bit heavy, but sturdy.

These shoes are great. I bought them to make my girly outfits less girly. The chunky sole is very masculine and clean looking, these shoes are gonna last you forever. I get complements every time I wear them. They run very, VERY, very large. I have a wide foot and normally wear a size 8, I got these in a size 6. Heads up though the break in time is murder on the back of the ankle (wear thick socks). These are a timeless shoe and worth the investment, I'll be back to buy a cherry red Mary Jane.

We loved this style..but it runs much larger than it should..by at least one full size Too bad.

Good lookin' Docs. Shiny black and classic. Leather is super stiff out of the box, but I'm sure it'll break in well. Can't go wrong with these ones.

Zappos' Delivery was excellent and on time. Doc's always feel a bit heavy, but they are a classic with great construction. Absolutely no slip "bouncing soles." They will last years, as opposed to other brands which will break down in a few months. My suggestion, add a bit of shoe polish to them now and again (the real kind, Kiwi from a tin) and they will last decades.

These the COOLEST looking shoes ever. As has been mentioned about the shoes in other reviews, the leather is a bit stiff and must be broken in before they are truly comfortable. Expecting this, I bought a slightly larger size than I usually wear in order to wear thicker socks with these shoes.

I love these shoes so much! I was expecting to have to break them in and didn't at all. I normally wear size 7.5 or 8 and ordered the UK 6 and they were too big, but the UK 5 fit perfectly and aren't tight at all. I highly recommend these. I walk around most of the day at work and although they are heavy my feet don't hurt and they look very classy with a variety of outfits. I have two other pairs of docs I've had for 20 years and I expect to keep these just as long!

I normally wear a 9.5 and these only come in 9 and they fit perfectly. I think they run a 1/2 size large. The shoe needs a break in period. Right out of the box they are hard leather but I've been massaging the leather and flexing it by hand and it seems to be softening out.

My son absolutely loves them for work.

Love these old school Oxfords. Comfort and fine tune fit are achieved only after a few weeks of wear.

What's there to say? This is the only shoe I have bought in the past 25 years. This pair is my eighteenth. I wear them most every day and when these wear out (in about 18 months) I'll buy another pair, just like them. The only other footwear I wear is Timberland workbooks; I'm on my ninth pair of those.
