I got my first pair of Docs (1460s of course) last year and they are the most comfortable and useful shoes I've ever had! Super stylish too! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

These shoes run fairly big so I had to purchase them half a size smaller than usual. I'm normally a 5.5, purchased the US 6 at first, then exchanged them for US 5. The 5's are about 1/2 a size too big still but the 8-eye lacing makes them feel perfect. They are so comfortable and classic.

These boots are awesome! I must say. Zappos is awesome, too. It is my Favorite place to shop. I have gotten my parents shopping here too. They just bought these for my daughter Alexis for her 14 Birthday and she loves them! My Mom was so happy with the customer service at Zappos. They are always so friendly and kind. The shipping was so fast! Two days! That is great customer service! Thank you, Zappos. You are our favorite place and we tell everyone about you! These boots are hot! There's a reason that, fifty-two years after they first came out, the Dr. Martens boot is still selling strong with no sign of letting down. They are just so damn comfortable and stylish without going flamboyant in design. I bought my first pair when I was eighteen and a half, back in 2010, in white. All the comfort I expected, as well as the compliments, came, but white wasn't simply me (I wanted black, but the store was permanently out of it). But just a few days ago, in Hong Kong, desperate for a new pair of shoes, I bought a black nappa pair in the same size - I wear a US 8 for boots although my foot is a US 7. Since black was the color I felt looked best (apart from aztec), I was beyond satisfied. They look really cool with jeans any shade of blue or even shorts - tomorrow I'm wearing them to university in the latter. Although they look small on your feet when you look down, looking in a mirror shows otherwise, and they actually make you look a lot cooler. Even better, the expected period of breaking-in hell lasted literally only a few minutes - I briefly wore them in the hotel and back home in Manila, and before the first hour was up my Docs felt like I'd had them forever! I see one previous review attributes this to the nature of nappa leather, so I'm glad I got it (I was hoping I had the black greasy style). The made-in-England pair was almost twice as expensive as the made-in-China pair, and I'm just a student living on allowance, so I bought the latter - but all the stories about poor Chinese quality seem to not apply here. I'm very hard on shoes, especially as I walk a lot, and I have a seven-year-old pair of CAT boots (made in China!) that have gone through eons of abuse and are still in perfect condition now (except for the cleanliness). Besides, I'm sure Dr. Martens ensures quality control so manufacturing in China would not really compromise quality especially now, now that so many have complained. (They list the 1460 as part of the Material Updates collection, so I'm expecting to attribute my boots' near-excellent quality here). I expect I would be able to wear these even with formal attire or even for things such as running (though I should not be so hard on them in this case!), and I would gladly buy this style many times over, both again in black and in other colors. I've made another leather companion for life.

Bought these for my son. He loves them. He did have to size up. I was vexed that they went in sale right after I bought them, but he needed them right away so what can you do?

I'm on my third pair of these boots. Comfortable, go with almost everything. It's like the boot molds its form to your foot.

Great boot. These last for 18 months of light duty use and then become yard boots. Uppers never fall apart and polish out very well.

I love these boots. They're comfortable, dressy enough for business or casual. I did darken the yellow stitching with a sharpie. They shine up nicely.

The shoes are great. That's a given; they're Doc Martens. But the service from Zappos was the best I've ever had anywhere. I ordered on Saturday, and by Monday they were on my doorstep. Customer for life now.

I bought a pair of 1914s (the taller looking version of this boot) and they were just a hair to small in size 8. Then I got the 1460s in size 9: it was huge. Finally I got the 1460s in a size 8 and the length was perfect. In case you're having sizing trouble with Docs, my experience was that a size 8 in women's is a different size than a size 8 in unisex/men's. At the end of the day, it's a good boot. I'm happy I finally got one to fit. Fun with skirts and tights.

The Original Doc Marten boot, in white. I've owned a pair of the same style in black for almost a decade. After much consideration, I came to the realization that if black goes with anything, then white might be able to, too, right? Yes. These white Doc's go well with outfits of any color, when paired with skinny jeans (or in my female friend's case, leggings/tights). If you keep them clean, you're bound to get compliments from strangers. The boots are the right height, not too short & not too tall. As expected, the leather is tough when you start off, but it's nothing a few days/weeks of walking and a few 5 minute shoe-stretches before & after each wear won't fix in no time.

Love these shoes! Very comfortable and fun to wear. They make me feel like a punky teenager again.

These are the only boots my husband will wear, although they have a wearing in period of true Doc Martens, apparently they are worth the effort. And how can I complain? If I only had to replace my only shoes once every 5 years, I would be impressed too!

Okay from day one the comfort is great. I work outside all day long on my feet. So in the past I had a pair of Dr. Martens and they was the best boot I've ever bought. Now I needed a pair again for my job. The day I got them and put them on I never had anymore foot pain or blisters. Not like any other new pair of boots I've bought in the past and regret buying. Dr Martens is the best hands down. I will never buy any other brands again.

The Brown Polished is a nice deep natural brown color. The leather is very good quality and for me, this is my 3rd pair of Dr. Marten Boots. Very comfortable.

These shoes are a bargain! This is the second pair I bought for my daughter who is a bit tough on shoes. The first pair lasted more than 10 years of heavy usage. Divide the price by 10 and you'll see what a deal these are!

They looked wonderful, but they were a bit too big and wide! I looked a little like I had clown feet, and had to return. Nonetheless, I got the "Brown Polished Incuk" and the leather was soft and high quality!

What can I say? they're Doc Martins! I think they really hit the perfect shade of red without looking too bright, and with a red shirt and my black leather jacket the compliments and admiring looks abound! Good taste and quality will never go out of style. It was worth it just to see that look in my wife's eye when she looked me over the way she did years ago! Be a little bold, unleash the non-conformist inside you, but unleash it in style! As with all Docs they were a little hard to break in the first few wearings, but they began to feel perfect in no time!

These shoes rock, as my daughter says. I had to wear the shoes while traveling recently and I could not believe how comfortable and great looking they are even for a 50 years old lady. I want to get a red pair for myself soon.

Dr. Martens have always lasted a long time. THis particular style takes about 40 hours worth of wear in order to break in. Mind you I baught the smooth finish, so the other may take more/less time, but once they're worn in, they're comfortable from dusk to dawn and then some. If you have a wide foot, no need to order wide, I wear wide and order medium and there's plenty of room.

Great boot. I ordered these in the smooth blue and they are a nice, navy blue color. They have worn well although they do take a little time to break in (but anyone who is familiar with Doc Martens already knows that).

My favorite boots! I'm a Dr Martens fan and I like all the boots. Zappos is awesome. I got them before Christmas. It is super cute but little bit heavy. But it's okay.

Very comfortable boot. Don't expect them to look new after the first day or two though. They mark up really easily. I was happy with this, however, because they looked aged and worn in within the first week.

Great winter boot. Keeps my feet warm. It's a little loose at the ankle and after about a year the toe is scuffed up.

This is a very comfortable boot. I was able to go out walking in them right away. However, even though I take a English size 8, I found the American size 9, its equivalent, slightly larger. But that's actually okay now, as I wear thicker socks, it being winter, an' all
