Awesome boots, awesome deal! I am a public school teacher and learned very quickly that sneakers nor loafers were for me. Being on my feet all day, I quickly realized that hiking boots were for me. When a pair of my favorites crapped out on me I bought my first set of Doc Marten's. This black pair is my third pair of Doc Marten's. They last forever, are impossibly comfortable, stylish, and easy to break in. Take it from a person who is on his feet all day - Doc Marten's are worth the money and so are these!!!

Still The Best!!! This is the 5th pair of Doc's I've owned over the past 10 years or so & they're still great. However, this is the first pair that I've bought now that they are made in China. I was a little skeptical at first because of some of the reviews on this site. But I've had them for a month now & I think they're just as good as the English made boot. I'm not sure why some of these reviewers are talking about having to break the Chinese boot in because I always thought there was a substantial amount of having to break in the English boot as well. It seems no different to me & I am very happy:)

Doc Martens from China...not quite the same - These boots are stylish and comfortable, yet do not feel like they have the same quality as the ones formerly produced in the UK. Producing these boots in China has appeared to drop the quality of the boot and its all-around fit. If you're lucky, grab a well-cared for, used pair of these boots that were produced in the UK.

Best Boots Ever - These are the original, the classic. More comfortable (after a couple of weeks, the footbed will mold itself to your feet) and durable than anything similar, they'll last you every season for years.

Royal takeover - I have nothing but good feelings about Zappo.com. The problem I have is with the brand of shoe I bought. I have owned Dr. Martens for over 25 years. Enjoying and being comfortable, with my work it is important and I wear nothing else. However, when I received my last pair, just weeks ago, I was very disappointed. First, they were made in China, second they are not the quality of leather as my other boots, and finally they are so uncomfortable that I haven't been able to work in them. I have a lump on my leg wear they bruised me and the lump has not gone away in 3 weeks. I love Zappo.com, but won't be buying Dr. Martens unless they go back to quality materials and tradition.

Dr. Marten's - I really enjoy the new shoes and their enhanced comfort, but I wished their sizes matched american sizes a little closer.

IMHO - Quality and design is quite similar to the Uk ones- time will show how durable this ones are. Fast shipment and overall excellent customer service ; two thumbs up !

Look great, long break-in - I've had several pairs of Docs, they all have long break-in times (lots of Neatsfoot Oil helps). I recommend if you wear a half-size, order the next size down (I wear a 10 1/2, but the US10 fits me pretty well. I didn't notice any difference between the English and Chinese made shoes, but I think the insole on the English ones was a little nicer...

A classic shoe and great delivery - First of all, kudos to Zappos. Not only did they have exactly what I wanted, but they even upgraded my shipping at no charge, so I got them within two days of ordering. What a fantastic company! As for the shoes, well, I've been wearing this style for years and they've always been durable and comfortable. The first couple of days you might want to wear a thicker sock than usual, just because it takes about two days for the top of the boot to soften, and during those two days without thicker socks I find it rubs the back of my legs, which can be a little uncomfortable. But once they're broken in, you can't find a more comfortable and classic looking boot. The only reason it gets 4 stars overall instead of five is that they've started making them in China, rather than England. The shoe quality seems about the same, but part of Doc Marten's appeal has always been the "made in England" stamp on the sole, and without that... well, I just can't give it the same five stars I would give a "made in England" shoe.

Dr Marten's 1460 - I look the boots and they take about a week to break in due to the hard shoe leather. I expect years of use just like my previous two pairs I bought of different models. My only disappointment is that they are now made in CHINA! Dr Marten's was one of the last shoe companies to move manufacturing from Great Britan. I probably will not buy anymore due to I would like to support workers with a real standard of living!

Finally the right size, texture and color in black. I can simply say that three times is the charm for purchasing the Dr. Martens 1460 Series in both in color being black and texture being smooth. I miss the lining that used to be inside the shoe, but the shoe is a classic and does not fade with fashion trends. In addition to my burgundy and Aztec crazy horse pairs, I now have the right size. Sizes 9 and 10 were too small but 11 is just right, since I have Irregular width size.

Great service by Zappos. Ordered on Sunday, received on Tuesday. The Docs are cool and were in excellent condition. They are a little loose in the heel, but I intend to put a decent insole in them. Too bad they don't come in half sizes.

After 20 years in the US Marines, I've worn many types of boots. I will say without hesitation that DM 1460s are the easiest breaking in, most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I used to swear by Altama jungle boots, but no longer. The 1460s are a bit stiff at first, but within two miles, they are thoroughly broken in.

The made in China fit is not the same as made in England - Doc Marten's have been my work shoe for 10 years at a restaurant...have enjoyed owning at least 5 pairs. But this one made in China is uncomfortable from the start and is abrasive at the back of the heel. Definitely won't cut it when your on your feet 7 hours. I'm in the process of returning this pair. I just have to search for another great work shoe.

I've just bought my 5th pair of Dr. Martens boots (1460)and did not manage to break them in. I was feeling something really strange with them, really uncomfortable. Something really changed... Is it because it's made in China, now? (by the way, the price we pay hasn't decreased).

This was my third pair!!!!!!!!! I have many pairs of DM now, and out of all of them I fully recommend the steel toe caps. They have been a foot saver at many many gigs and I wouldn't be without them for any money!!!

Good Shoes - As an EMT I'm on my feet all day and these shoes are comfy - better than klunky boots others wear for the same price if not more.. Zappos gave me quicker shipping than they said they would and I saved a bundle from buying them from the stores. I think that people criticizing Chinese production don't know what they're talking about... the shoes are the exact same.

1460's rule! I have 12 or 13 pairs of this style in various colors and patterns. The only problem I've had with them is break-in. They have a tendency to rub the back of my legs at the top on the outside of the leg. This was solved by cutting the top part off an old pair of socks and putting them over my socks making a double thickness there. No more rubbing. I wear and own nothing but Dr. Martens footware. Love them all.

20+ years of same boot style - I purchased my first pair over 20 years ago in London. They have been all over the world with me, Asia, The USA, all of Europe, Eastern Europe, and still are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. ( I have bought over 15 pair by now..) My only gripe to date is the last pair I bought, in LONDON no less, were made in CHINA??? Whats up with that? The leather and fit were completely different than what the UK mfg. Doc's were. But, after a quick trip to a hot shower, and a complete breakdown with saddle soap, shaving creme and the a slight spit shine with Kiwi polish, they are quite comfortable. ( Damn Marines never wear a pair of boots out of a box, we always break them down, and repolish!~ smiles ) Just wish they were made in UK still, hate to buy Chinese!

Best ever!!! These are my 6th pair. I love these shoes. Very comfortable. I recommend to all!!

First official pair of Docs - I decided on these boots because I have been wanting a pair of Docs for years, but never could find a style I liked in any stores. I know these are among the originals and I prefer a simple, classy, basic look to my shoes. I just got them and they're pretty stiff, and a little loose feeling through the ankle. I could probably have used a half size down but obviously don't have half sizes. I think I'm going to love them once they break in. They look great, just as pictured. I've read many other rave reviews here, and figure that I'll give it a shot and keep 'em!
