Nice shoes but they do run narrow, especially for a large guy with wide feet. Having to return them for a much wider size. Overall they look good and I think they will wear great once the wider size arrives.

Ordered 12.5ww for 12.5EEE feet, fit was good, shoe was comfortable except the sole has no give, does not bend at all. Felt like Frankenstein’s monster in them.

The shoes were as expected except for one annoying flaw. The grommets through which the shoelaces pass were installed carelessly. They are broken and rough enough to snag the laces. This makes it difficult to properly adjust the laces.
Strings are also pulled loose from the laces which will ultimately result in premature failure.
I realize this is a small issue, but it brings into question the overall quality of the product.

I finally found a shoe style with a rounded toe that allows my "Hobbit" feet to fit without squishing my toes to a point. Even 6E shoes with the common toe area that tapers more toward a point do not offer the comfort these do. The only thing I would like is greater depth to accommodate custom orthotics along with a plastic AFO leaf spring brace I need for drop toe.

the fit and size are good for me of the village walker, 12D, however i am getting 3-4 months wear which at that time my hips and knees start to hurt, zappos said i should get 6mo of wear from these shoes, i am getting 3mos wear..i bought another pair, like i said, the fit and size works for me...the style MEH. i want comfortable shoes that fit me and wear for for at least 6-8 months.

Not the most attractive shoe but very comfortable. I would recommend for a diabetic who needs a nicer looking shoe for work, etc.

I bought these shoes a full size bigger than my normal shoe size and am glad I did. It is a struggle to get them on because they are very narrow. Once on they are very comfortable just a bit tight all around.

Not a very pretty shoe but I bought them for comfort not looks and they fill the need fairly well. not very good for long periods of standing but excellent for walking. I have very wide feet and the 5e fits well. Wish they made a more stylish shoe with as good a fit.

Have been wearing this shoe for ten days or so - liking the shoe and I think its a good looking style. In the front half of the shoe - the liner does not mitigate the discomfort of the ridges below and was uncomfortable for me. Today I visited a carpet store and acquired a scrap of carpet padding. Using the removable liner that was in the shoe as a pattern - I made another liner from the carpet padding and VIOLA the shoes are so much more comfortable. Enough so I ordered another pair today. Because of some sore feet - gout? - I had ordered them extra long and wide so the carpet padding had plenty of room. Would recommend these shoes.

They are super comfortable but the inner support wore out quickly, and after a year and a half I had worn through the sole (almost all tread erased) and a huge crack developed in the right foot all the way through to my foot. Walk in a puddle- get wet foot.
I own a shop- so on my feet a lot but in carpet mostly. I don't walk all over town- so very low wear to produce such high tread erasure.
Years ago I had a pair of hand made shoes from England and they lasted well over a decade.
Just saying- these wear out QUICKLY!

I normally get another brand but decided to this brand a try as I have heard how comfortable
they are. I tried them on and Yes they are extremely comfortable, however I need a B width and and it definitely was a D width. But I didnt want to send them back because they are so comfortable. So I just cinch them up as tight as I can with a wrinkle on the top of the shoe.
This company is famous for wide footwear, so they probably weren't sure how to make a B width.
My feet look like ski's.

The last pair of walking shoes I purchased were Hush Puppies, but the soles did not have good traction on dusty or wet surfaces. I purchased the Propet shoes based upon the reviews. However, these shoes are not at all as comfortable as the Hush Puppies. The traction is much better, but the sole is much harder and does not have as much cushioning which I would prefer because of arthritis in my knees. Otherwise, the shoe is well made, has plenty of room for custom orthotics, and looks very good.
I'd also recommend:

I had both of my hip joints replaced many years ago, and these are the only shoes that keep me from having excess pain. They are like walking on clouds, and no break-in period is necessary right out of the box. The only downside is that The three pairs that I have had last only about two years, and fail with the same problem; the sole cracks straight across right under the ball of the foot where the normal bend is when walking. The pair I have on right now, I bought in Jan 2015 from Zappos, and I discovered the crack yesterday 12/15/16, when I walked through some water and my foot got wet inside the shoe. In spite of that, however, here I am again to buy two more pairs; they feel that good.

I'm female, but bought these because I need a very wide shoe. They are quite comfortable, now that I've had the tongues shortened. They're a little clunky looking and feel like they are made of plastic, but I bought them for comfort, not looks.

I bought these for my husband because Propet offered the extra wide widths that he needs. He is hard to fit and comfort is essential for him, so this is the only shoe and brand we buy now.

About month so far and the shoes are holding up good. Quality is very good and comfort is a 9 out of 10. My only two complains are the hill is about 1.25 inches and it makes long distance driving (for me) uncomfortable and across the top of the shoe (lace area) it feels rough. I'd buy the shoes again for sure, in fact buying a black pair today. I would not call them ugly, but not stylish either.

I am very careful about shoe purchases because of the sensitivity in my feet due to a diabetic condition. These shoes felt great right out of the box and after a few days of wear, they adjusted perfectly to my feet.I wouldn't call them the top of fashion but they're fine for office and casual wear. I certainly recommend them.

These shoes are completely comfortable for my husband. They look a bit "clunky," but it's the nature of the beast.

I have wide, short feet and so shoes are challenging. I was looking for some walking shoes with decent support, OK for mild outdoor use, but in a plain color and style such that wearing with biz casual could work.
The Village Walker meets some but not all of that: first, it really is a 5E! It's a shape that works well for me, too, like NewBal SL-2 last. Looks are fine in that casual but not sporty zone I wanted (almost a clone of the old Clarks Natureveldt, which I liked)
Problem is they are just too soft! Like someone made a sponge rubber replica of a Natureveldt. Sole is almost plush it's so soft. Not a lot of arch support or motion control.
For wearing indoors where someone was doing a lot of standing with some slow gentle walking, they'd be perfect. For more serious walking or stepping on some cobblestones, too much give (not flimsy, just soft and unstable on uneven surface).
