Bought them but only wore them a few times over a few years. They were super comfy and classy looking....BUT...One day at a wedding, the heels just crumbled, disintegrated !!!!! .....couldn't believe it....everyone was rolling on the floor in hysterics.... pretty funny really, almost like bought from a joke shop, lol..... too embarrassed to even attempt to bring them back since I think the shoe store has long since gone out of business.... no kidding.

I have been 8.5 EEE for decades and have always worn Florsheim. Now the sizes are kind of random, looks like they have outsourced production to multiple factories without quality control

I have worn these shoes for 30 years. My newest pair I wore yesterday and today when the sole split transversely and the stitching holding the shoe to the sole broke on both shoes. Shoes that cost this much should last longer than 2 days of normal use.

Shoes are very comfortable and easy wearing. This is the third pair that the soles and heels disintegrated while the shoes still looked good. Sitting in shoe rack in closet, when I put them on and started walking is when problems appeared.

When I buy shoes, usually they will last until the top tears up or gets scuffed. I have shoes that are 10 to 20 years old and they are still wearable and look good. This is the second pair that soles have deroriated just sitting in the closet. They look good when you put them on, then they come all to pieces while wearing them. Don't like at all. They were very comfortable and looked good.

i do not wear this type of shoe daily. The 5tth time I put them on the heal came apart. I expect a quality product from Florsheim, and was very disappointed.

Never received replacement shoes as promised. Shipping sent them to the wrong address. That was three weeks ago and I STILL don't have them even though I gave them the proper address in the first place. I have had AT LEAST 15 pairs of Rivas over the years. They are extremely comfortable but do not wear very well. But to have a sole crumble into pieces while walking on carpet? These shoes were new and had only been worn for a total of 6 hours!!

I only wore the shoes about 10 times and the sole started falling apart on one shoe. Made with bad rubber. Was very comfortable when I bought them...now they can't be worn. Upper leather is like new and other shoe is barely worn...looks like new. Heel and front sole started breaking off in chunks. Too much money spent for that to happen.
Disappointed,

Past purchases of this shoe have always been good, I loved the shoe, until this last purchase. The shoe does not fit the same. I have had to return the shoe at my expense. If I were to have a different shoe sent out, and it did not fit, I would be returning that shoe at my expense. My advice is don't buy something that in the end you spend more money buying and returning, and get no shoes. Bad Business

I have been buying Florsheim Riva shoes for many years because I can wear them anywhere, they're comfortable, slips on and off and comes in a narrow width. I have narrow feet and wish you had more shoes in a narrow width.

I definitely do not recommend! These shoes do not wear well - and they caused blisters. They were supposed to replace them and I have yet to received them yet. Stay away!

I have purchased this same style for many years and have always purchased the width 3E. I have purchased both black and burgundy or brown in all that time. This is the first time that the shoe did not fit; it is also the first time I have ordered directly from Florsheim. I will be returning the shoes and will not order from the company again.

I have large feet (15 4E) so finding shoes is sometimes a challenge. When I find shoes that fit and I like, I sometimes buy two pairs. I did that with these Florsheims back in March. Five months later, the rubber sole failed (a piece came off and a large crack formed). I immediately switched to my second pair. The rubber sole on this shoe started disintegrating the very same day. They clearly had a materials problem and maybe it has been resolved, but I am out quite a bit of money and it is probably too late to get them to do anything about it. I see no other mention of this problem, but it definitely bit me.

Shoes squeak-first day wearing. Returned a pair of new Riva's 3 weeks ago for squeaking, but the replacement shoes are just like them. Left shoe squeaks both times.

I have a problem with pain on the back of my heel. This the only shoe I have found that does not cause me pain. You notice I have been buying them for some time.

THere is a ridge around the inside of one shoe that makes it uncomfortable to wear. I have worn it twice and the ridge seems a little less pronunced.

Love Florsheim shoes, but hate these. Strange pressure points in the sole. Feet get very hot in these shoes, I find I slip them off under my desk and while driving whenever I can. THe shoe has rolled under my ankle twice in the past year, very unstable. Based on reviews, I bought 2 pair of these. I will never buy another pair of Rivas again. Return to leather soled shoes.

I have two pairs of these shoes. My black pair is still going strong and looking good after two years of almost daily use. The brown pair must be defective. The souls of these shoes are cracked clear through after less than one year of occasional use. Avoid the brown shoes!

Lousy Leather -
Extremely comfortable shoe. Looks great. However, do not buy the Florsheim. I normally wear Nunn Bush with the same cushioned sole but could not find brown in any of the stores (subsequently discovered Zappos). So I bought a pair of Brown Florsheim Riva at a major national retailer. The leather upper on this shoe peels as if it were thin vinyl, if you brush it against anything. Within two weeks of ownership, I was astonished at two distinct rips in the leather on the right side above the heel. The leather was actually peeled back to reveal the white understructure, so I used some super glued to glue it back down to cover the extremely visible under layer. I did not recall hitting anything with my foot, so it had to be very incidental impact like brushing against a curb or similar situation. After this happened, I recalled buying a similar black Florsheim a couple years earlier and it had done the same thing. Shame on me for making the same mistake twice. I have worn Nunn Bush for up to two years before the soles wear out and have never had a leather rip or abrasion like the Florsheim. Incidentally, the fit on both are pretty identical and I have been wearing this style of show with the padded rubber soles for many many years, due to comfort. Can't stand most other dress shoes because you feel like you are wearing hard concrete for shoes.
I'd also recommend:
Nunn Bush and Deer Stag

IS THIS THE SAME SHOE?
Received a pair of these the other day, and unlike most of the reviewers, I found them to be one of the worst shoes I had ever seen.
The first shock was when I took them out of the box. Rather than quality leather, they looked like they were made of third rate pleather. Picture shows sole and heel, but it is some kind of hybrid which just adds to the shoe's ugliness. The "heel" portion is lower than it should be, leaving your spine at a very annoying angle. The inside is as bad as the outside, Footbed had no padding; so, it felt like you were walking on thin plywood.
The strangest thing was that, while the left shoe was normal, the right shoe had a major defect. It kept wanting to twist your foot and ankle. The more uneven the surface, the more it felt as if you were walking on ball bearings.
Super cheap looking, ugly as sin, painful and poorly made, don't buy at any price!
