I am on my feet most of the day and these shoes are very comfortable. I have worn this specific shoe model for 30 years. The plus is you can treat the shoes roughly and still shine them up where they look good in public. The negative is the shoes don't last very long (like industrial boots) and you can't resole them.

The one problem is that I consistently find that the inside sole lining begins to peel off the bottom inside of the shoe.

Love Florsheim as you specialize in wide widths. But buying shoes online is a chore, because you NEVER know how a shoe will fit until you actually get it and try it on. It cost me $15.00 to ship the first shoe back to you because my 3E was NOT wide enough.....unusual because that is my usual wide width. This shoe runs in a 5E, which I've never had before. It's a little big now as my heel pops out slightly. BUT, this shoe certainly is comfortable! Don't know if I'll ever buy online again. But I do think Florsheim shoes ARE the best.

I am a pharmacist - so I stand on my feet nine hours a day. I have found the Riva to be the most comfortable shoe to work in. The sole is very sturdy but feels great. I highly recommend this shoe.

I am used to wearing Berkshire loafers. The feel of the Riva is different because the sole is thicker. No problems...just takes some getting used to.

Can only be used in dry weather. If you walk around in even a slight drizzle, your toes/socks get wet; carry an extra pair of socks (not included)!

I really like this shoe and have bought many pairs of the last 10 years. I am, however concerned about the soul. My last pair's soul on one foot cracked clear across the soul. I had not worn them very long, maybe 6 months, and I think the material that the soul is made of must have been defective. I could not find a shoe repair shop that had the tools required to repair it.

One heel exploded-- not like a cherry-bomb, but like a tomato that is squished on the kitchen counter. The soles also developed cracks and wore out quickly so the longevity of the heel and sole is not so good as in years past. That said, I love these shoes. I have never worn a shoe so comfortable and I will continue to buy them.

I have worn this model of shoe for years!
With this purchase, and the previous pair, the quality of the sole material has gone way down. the sole showed visible cracks within one week (i have had the current pair for 3 weeks), the same as the last pair, but the last pair had broken through after 5 weeks, and was unwearable after 5 months.
Previously, this model had lasted well over a year (and a couple lasted over 2 years).

I have been wearing Florsheim Rivas for over 20 years, in the same size - 11 1/2 E. However, the set I bought this week does not feel to be the same width as all prior sets. It feels narrower. Did Florsheim change their sizing standard? Must I now go up to the EEE, which may be too wide? I would appreciate hearing from other Riva wearers as to whether their new Rivas fit the same, or not. By the way, my feet have not changed size or width. With respect to size, the new Rivas seem just a bit shorter as well, perhaps a quarter size. The old Rivas this new set of Rivas was bought to replace were bought approximately 4 years ago.

I have been wearing and re-ordering this shoe for well over a decade. I love it.
However, I live in California. I find the shoes are impossible when out of state and the sidewalk is wet. The stitching in the soles just wicks the water into my socks and feet.

[...]--exactly as promised, right color, right style, as selected from the online catalogue. I have been wearing Florshiem shoes since 1962, when I bought my first pair of dress shoes to go to college. Still wearing the brand, those first shoes only lasted about 5 years.
